The spider webs wouldn't freak me out that much...

But the caterpillars do.

That is ABSOLUTELY AND TOTALLY FUCKING TERRIFYING

imagine living near there. enough to give you the creeps. stock up on insecticide

That's really cool. But I didn't think spiders would be able to coexist that closely. I imagine they must have been devouring eachother the whole time.

Now while spiders don't really bother me, that link about the yellow jacket nests is scary as hell.

Fucking hell. I'm sorta almost shaking from the pictures. The caterpillars were probably worse, but i must say, my toleration for spiders is declining every day.

Man, why did i have to go and look at those pictures?

people

usually giant webs and other such insanities come from people manipulating the environment in a somewhat ignorant manner seeing as they cannot understand the consequences/results of the actions they take.

Ug, there is nothing cool, beautiful or interesting about that. If I had my way, I would be nuking that field from orbit.

I'm totally picturing this 60 acre spider rising from the ground of that field with little baby spiders swarming all over it. Thanks for the nightmares.

The spiders had a large part to do with it, but those fucking caterpillar webs just made it icing on the cake. That was madness to the extent of gilding the lily. As far as the webs themselves go I NEVER, EVER, EVER want to see that in my life. I'd have a fucking aneurysm.

I think the thing that ultimately got me though was reading the article and the point where the photographer says he was standing near the field only to realize that he was slowly being covered by a horde of tiny spiders (on his jacket and pants). That shit right there was what freaked me the fuck out.

Also agreed on the yellowjacket nest thing... >_<
