University is about 6km from my home and I'm planning to bike there when school starts. It'll be a bitch to bike back home on ... well pretty much any day of the week. I work out on Mon-Wed-Fri and I have late classes on Tue-Wed-Thu. Ah well :(

But! It's a handy way to exercise and it'll definitely wake me up in the morning :p
Also, it's cheaper, a bit faster and I can do it whenever I like. (Buses don't run in this city past 1am)

My dorm is 10 minutes away from the main campus area in Greenwich Village. I just moved in on Sunday and I'm loving it. Classes start on Tuesday.

Oh, I walk by the way.

I'm right there on campus, so I walk, but with all these people zipping around on longboards, bikes, and scooters, I no longer feel safe doing do.

And since when do people longboard? I'm still realatively young, but have universities always been teeming with these things?

Oh, and Gecko, I vote for bus, just because I hate traffic and lights so.

My first 2 years of college, I live in on-campus dorms. Walking to any of my classes was at most a 10-15 minute walk. It was cool: often I meet up with friends for the walks.

The next 2 years I lived in an apartment slightly off-campus. Most of the time, I took the shuttle, but there were times where I didn't feel like waiting and I'd walk it, about 20-25 minutes.

I don't drive yet. ;_;

As long as I'm in the city, I'll always use the train to get to places. It takes around 40 mins to get to my university so it's not that bad.

Gecko, take the damn bus. What you're describing really isn't worth it. If you have a car at home still, than you're set.

I have to drive 40+ minutes to school, and usually deal with horrendous traffic.

I take the bus. I don't have a car, and even if I did, it would be a nightmare to find a parking space around my college.

Also much cheaper, especially when you consider how much car insurance costs these days.

My university is located about 20 km from where I live. I usually take a combination of bus and train to get there, it takes around 40 minutes, but it's not a big deal, I guess, since you can spend that time reading, listening to music or solving crossword puzzles. Yeah.

I have a bus pass. I ride a bus onto campus from my apartment, then bike/walk around from there. There are bus routes that just stay on campus (Michigan State is one of the larger campuses out there, too, walking from one end to the other can take around an hour), but I prefer to get the exercise and use my feet.

And actually, I also walk for 25 minutes to and from work when I have it.
