For quite a while, the prices have been fluctuating around $1-$1.20, but we were thoroughly surprised about a week ago when we saw gas for $0.80-$0.88. Hopefully the large cut will last, since we've been conditioned to paying $1+ for gas for a while now.

Prices where I live have pretty much stayed at the $3.09/gallon ($.81/liter) mark for octane 86 at the local Fina and Mustang. There are some stations that have octane 86 for about ten cents cheaper, but they are few and far between and not worth the trip. The prices have been steady for the most part. There might be a week where gas goes up twenty cents per gallon, but the price usually goes back to its original amount after a random interval of time.

2.59 per gallon of gas over here in Humble, Tx.
Has slowly been declining since the summer wehre it met 2.98+ at some points.

I don't think so. We were over $3.00 a month ago. My guess would be an over-supply of the specific formulation of gasoline that's used around here.

Here in western BC it's 109.9 for a litre. Not too bad, and word has it that it's on it's way down :)

You know you can just go to a website to see gas prices in your area, right? It's called www.gaspricewatch.com - Gas Price Watch.

One liter of gas is 1.39€ here. Now I gonna double-convert this for you guys:

One gallon would be 6.6025 US$. Which is quite a lot I guess O_o

Gas in Germany really hasn't changed much in the past year, then. When I was there last summer, it was something like 1.35€. It's only around $2.79 now, which isn't too bad considering it was around $2.99 for months. It's pretty damn amazing, though, that I can remember seeing $1.20 down in Florida a few years ago.

Musharraf Sep 1, 2006 04:55 PM

Yeah, it hasn't changed much for quite a few months, but it's still freaking expensive. Good thing the greens are not part of the government anymore, with them the gas price would have risen to 2€ or some shit like that. The problem is that 80-85% of the German gas price are taxes, so the guys from the gas stations can't do much.

EDIT - Ugh, not sure how this double posting happened.

Anyway, for some new content, regular unleaded dropped a couple more cents to hit $2.31 on my way home from work. There might be some kind of mini-price war going on at that exit.

Hmm, about 22.50Q a gallon where I´m at. Which is almost exactly three dollars.

CAN YOU IMAGINE? NINETY-EIGHT CENTS A GALLON? And this was only, what, 5? 6 years ago?

I think it was two years ago :O I'm pretty sure I was in college while it was still cheap, and I wasn't just starting when it started to spike. I distinctively remember reading a school newspaper when they were panicking abour $50/barrel during the hike in prices.

Also I remember an uber-huge gas thread (like this) around the initial peak.

Gas has dropped for Labor Day Weekend here. WTF are pigs flying now?

$2.699 here, compared to nearly $3 a couple weeks ago.

Adamgian Sep 5, 2006 08:46 AM

It's around $0.30 per liter where I am right now. Yep, Saudi Arabia, cheap oil is excellent.

Skaijo Sep 5, 2006 02:36 PM

The price of gas is $2.68. But it's about $7 in Korea.

Cobra Commander Sep 5, 2006 03:53 PM

$3.41 for a gallon of unleaded regular here in Hilo, Hawaii

speculative Sep 6, 2006 09:43 PM

They just said today there are two states, Hawaii and California that are higher than us. Which is ironic because we have a large amount of oil on the eastern plains.

Nation-wide, gas dropped $.31 per gallon in the last 2 weeks, but here it only dropped $.10. They say it will go down more after Labor Day weekend has been put behind us, but uh... wasn't that last weekend?

Excrono Sep 6, 2006 10:08 PM

It really felt good to be able to fill up my tank for roughly twenty dollars (at 2.46 per gallon.) After prices being so high, the lighter load on the wallet is certainly welcome (even if it may not last.)

At least we aren't headed toward oil at $100 per barrel by Thanksgiving like I was hearing just over a month ago.

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Sep 6, 2006 10:17 PM

The lowest I've seen around here lately is $2.51, which is pretty good conisidering where it was just a few weeks back.

Synthesis Sep 7, 2006 01:52 AM

Gas prices just dropped a bit where I live. They've gone from about 2.96 down to 2.70-75. Any little bit helps I guess.
