John McClane ?

Freddy Krueger Dec 17, 2006 11:37 AM

Exactly, thats what I love about the movies too. He gets all banged up and shot/cut but still kicks some ass.

The Furious One Dec 17, 2006 04:01 PM

regarding teaser trailer, hasnt he made that film already, wasn't it called 16 Blocks !
And the end quote, was corney and predictable.

Just watched Die Hard again because it's Christmas and I was in the modd for McClane action after watching the trailer. Such a good film...

LFODH looks pretty awesome as well.

Well, sorry to bump the shit out of this but here's the poster for Live Free or Die Hard. Apparently it's called Die Hard 4.0 or just 4.0 in the rest of the world.

He sort of looks like how he did in the other movies, though looking at Nyoro's picture he's aged quite a bit.

Kolba Feb 28, 2007 03:46 PM

Everything with a tech storyline has to have a cool computerised 'version number' now.

I won't be paying for this on opening day, I'll wait until they spot the flaws and bring out the 4.1 patch.

Gechmir Feb 28, 2007 04:31 PM

Well, at least it won't be called Live Free or Die Hard. 'Cuz that sounded horribly lame.

I saw some sequences from the movie (from a friend who works on the effects) and I can say that the movie has its usual action packed scenes with explosions and whatnot.

Got me excited about the movie, until I read that this movie is going to probably be PG-13...
Die Hard was suppose to be rated R, for the blood, violence, and cursing. I just hope the rest of the movie is good enough to make up for that rating.

What a flop =/. So that means we'll just get the hipee-kay-yay without motherfucker, huh?. Not cool. Other than that I hope Kevin Smith (as the Warlock hacker or something) gets a good role in this movie. Getting sick and tired of his Cameo Appearances. He deserves better >.>.

So, this movie was kinda awful.
I mean, not that I ever expected art house fare from Die Hard, but it's like they didn't even try. Everything was so one-dimensional the movie might as well have been called "Bruce Willis Blows Shit Up."
Basically I don't want to see a single person who complained about Pirates because it was filler + action scenes in here praising this film.

Freddy Krueger Jul 1, 2007 07:41 AM

Me and some friends saw it opening night and we all loved it. We all love the Die Hard movies and this one was definitely one of the better sequels. Seriously that is what what the Die Hard movies are, watching Bruce Willis AKA John Mclane blow shit up, kick some bad guys ass while delivering some funny one liners. That's exactly what he did here except the action was turned up a notch. Also did anyone else catch the Special Agent Johnson reference?

map car man words telling me to do things Jul 1, 2007 12:24 PM

I just saw it with Boo and disliking Underworld and having seen the trailer (which was just awfully cut), my expectations must have been so low it was an extremely pleasant surprise.

I loved the first and third Die Hards and this really exceeded itself. It certainly won't become a classic, but it was an absolute blast, hilarious set-pieces that kept just the right balance of kickass awesome and silly. Some of the hacker stuff made me cringe, but I can't help but praise the film for being a good Die Hard film.

Shenlon Jul 1, 2007 01:14 PM

I loved the movie.
The action was not believable, crazy, unnecessary, that it was so much fun And thats what these kind of movies are suppose to be. Fun!

I too was pretty disappointed by this installment of the Die Hard series. Bruce Willis's reaction seemed pretty out of place in a lot of the scenes and he pretty much failed to capture the underdog spirit of the previous films. I tire of action films that treat plot like it's a bad disease.

Wall Feces Jul 2, 2007 02:46 PM

I thought the movie was an absolute blast from the past. It felt like good ol' 90s action, unlike the CG masturbation we've been subjected to lately. Bruce was great as usual, and the film was just a fun fun time in general.

I guess I'll take that as my cue to leave.

I went in expecting two hours of mindless Bruce Willis blowing shit up and that was exactly what I got, and I am a very happy camper. I don't see how you can negatively compare this to the other Die Hard films – they're all mindless blowing shit up and shooting. That's why they're good action films.

Dark Nation Jul 2, 2007 03:59 PM

I really enjoyed the movie, saw the midnight premiere and everyone was pretty much in line with shouting out to the characters, laughing, OMFGing, etc.,. It was great. The hacker-bits were really on the "oh come on!" side (Some stuff in there I imagine to be possible but a lot of it was really just fluff and eye-candy.

The action was top notch, especially with the theater's surround-sound giving you every piece of explosion, impact and collapse. "Bruce Willis blows shit up" is a proper alt. title for the movie as well.

Like the part where the terrorist plugs his equipment into the Woodlawn data center's main terminal with TWINAX. I saw that and was like "What year is this, 1996?"

Roan Jul 3, 2007 06:18 AM

Im gonna see the movie tomorooww!!! :D I love Die Hard.
Bruce Willis in the Late Show was hilarious with that Kabruce thing.

Malahk Angel Jul 4, 2007 09:31 PM

I just saw it today and I was absolutely enthralled with it.

I was just glad that they left "Yippie-Ki-Yay Motherfucker" in the movie... it just wouldn't be Die Hard without it.

Sian Jul 11, 2007 05:30 PM

I watched it the other day, I liked it. Nothing ground breaking, but seriously entertaining.

Mucknuggle Jul 12, 2007 10:22 PM

I saw this on Tuesday. I thought it was great. It started off with some oldschool action scenes, and then got so cheesy that it was still awesome. I hope they can keep the magic going if they decide to make a 5th Die Hard.

Domino Jul 14, 2007 11:38 AM

I finally got around to seeing this yesterday. And I was very impressed with it. The action scenes were fantastic, story wasn't too bad either. This is what you call a good action film.
