Starcraft 2 is best bet for what they are working on, all that nonsense about SC infringing on other's idea is totally ridiculous, if what is said is true then probably well over half of the industry would get caught up in some kind of legal litigation for infringing on some element of another game/franchise. You don't see Tolkien's estate suing people left and right because their "elves" strike a resemblance to the elves from LotR (assuming Tolkien really was the first to come up with the idea of the high fantasy elves we have today).
Diablo 3, this version of Diablo maybe a little different, why? to the best of my knowledge most of the minds behind Diablo are now at Flagship studios working on Hellgate: London. At the same time it would make sense for them then to look for more talent to work on the game. But does Blizzard really need to put out another RPG at this moment? |

Anyway, I do love Starcraft to death, though not as much as Total Annihilation. But I have my doubts that Blizzard can make a real game anymore. I think WoW will be their undoing (kinda like Ultima Online was Origin's undoing). A MMORPG just sucks up so much attention. But I'll certainly hope for the best if they do start developing it, and if they don't announce the game after all, I'll consider that good news. |
Yeah I have to agree that Oblivion did turn out well. Even with its flaws, it is a very enjoyable game. Especially on PC because of the modding improvements/changes/fixes. It's a very fulfilling game, though definitely imperfect.
As to the Blizzard releasing a new one, I'd really like it to be a new Diablo more than a new Starcraft. I never played Diablo, and I'd rather come into the series with a fresh new 3D version. I just can't see trying to pick up Diablo II at this point. Starcraft is cool, but I just can't enjoy THAT fast paced of RTS game. I'm more a turn-based guy or slower-paced RTS. Needless to say, either game would be amazing assuming they will be as good as we are imagining them to be :D. |

And by two months do you mean actual hours spent on the game? or like months "actively" engaged. |

But when it comes to MMORPG I have to admit they done pretty good job. But in reality there are tons that kills WoW's population. |
It's not like Blizzard had to try hard to dominate the MMORPG genre. It was a genre mostly resorted to by third rate companies deserate for some cash to stop them from going under. Blizzard were the first competant game developer to release a an MMO. Any company with a quality control department could've pulled it off.

Great news. Hopefully not a Warcraft one; something else.
And I'm just thinking that Ghost may be postponed like Duke Nukem or something for whatever years. I mean Prey was 10 years in development so I guess Ghost can go down in that lane. |
Pffft ... SC Ghost looked like shit anyway. I hope they never release it.
With luck they'll release Starcraft 2 which will convert everyone from SC, WC3, and WoW. I quit playing WC3: Frozen Throne cause it died out so badly that it just wasn't worth my time. My Friends list was always empty, my clan died out, and having an AMM system to play on in which you lose half your games was just crap. Took the fun out of it. |
