Curses. Foiled by not reading properly

No wonder the bloodied value (50%) didn't match up to the surge value (25%) :( I had initially chalked it up to some kind of healer's lore bonus.

wvlfpvp Aug 12, 2010 11:32 AM

Pang: does the mark affect any attacks I make due to the Aegis (I'm pretty sure it does, but I'm just clarifying). Also, my saving throw against the mark isn't going to be 8, since it's not ongoing damage... right?

I fail at rules.

The unmovable stubborn Aug 12, 2010 11:40 AM

Yeah, the mark imposes a -2 to hit on any attack other than those against the enemy marking you, even those granted by your aegis.

And no, marks don't (usually) deal any damage, so your watersoul abilities don't really help in this case.

Zergrinch Aug 12, 2010 11:50 AM

On a totally unrelated note:

Man, look at the map update cycle on the initiative order.

Spaghetti, confetti, wetty-wetty, alphabetti, Lacetti, jetty, Ghetti.

Unless you meant the front page of the WIKI? Also done, quick-and-dirty like.

Is there any way you can add "current party" and "former party" tags to the wiki? Then it might be easier for you to just tag member pages as a part of a group, and the front page wouldn't need it.

The unmovable stubborn Aug 12, 2010 11:13 PM

I guess I could do that.

Garr's been calling it Defensive Challenge although I'm pretty sure he meant Combat Challenge. He'll probably miss anyway, and our discussion become totally moot, but Garland shouldn't be able to shift away that easily, right? :)

Edit: Yay, a hit. Plus no shift for Garland!

Spoiler:
Betty, ninjetti, sweaty, petty.

Dmitry Kabalevsky?

The unmovable stubborn Aug 13, 2010 12:25 AM

Yup, map fixed.

Speaking of Defensive Challenge, the whole point of the feat is to grant bonuses to ADJACENT allies. Sideways Defense only works for adjacent allies too. So maybe you guys should stick a little closer to your defenders, I'm just saying.

Zergrinch Aug 13, 2010 12:27 AM

Sure, but it's kinda situational. Any smart monster would want to attack the marker anyway.

(I'm so glad Ebony isn't in a team with a defender. The situational mods would be terribly tricky to remember.)

The unmovable stubborn Aug 13, 2010 12:52 AM

Garr's current AC is 25, yours and Hawk's are 22. Even taking a mark into account, you're easier to hit.

(Of course this stops being true once Garr gets out of that tin can, but but but shut up)

Zephyrin Aug 13, 2010 01:25 AM

Guh, can't take immediate actions. Guess I should've read the dazed description before posting.

Anyways, how long am I dazed for? Do I make a saving roll?

You know, Puyet is going to get tired of these status ailments after a while and start straight up murdering motherfuckers.

The unmovable stubborn Aug 13, 2010 01:29 AM

But it's an interrupt, so it technically kicks in JUST BEFORE you get dazed. So Endure Pain would have worked fine...?

And yeah, save ends the daze, sorry about that

wvlfpvp Aug 13, 2010 09:00 AM

Question time again! If I make an attack that hits more than one target, I don't take any penalties for any of them as long as the howler's one of them, right?

I'm still weighing options for my turn, though.

Zergrinch Aug 13, 2010 09:08 AM

Yes, it should!

Might I suggest action pointing to attack? It'll give you a free Melee Basic attack thanks to Zeph. And if it misses, you could expend Blades of Fiery Wrath as an immediate reaction. This way you'll get three attacks this turn.

The unmovable stubborn Aug 13, 2010 09:08 AM

As long as the marking creature is attacked in some way the mark doesn't impede you, even if it's just one of six creatures you're hitting at once.

wvlfpvp Aug 13, 2010 09:15 AM

Zerg, Blades of Fiery Wrath only triggers on one of my SWORDMAGE at-wills. I'd also feel better about action point usage if I didn't have just one, since I might need it later. This is atypical of me, seeing as how in the vidya, I fuck myself over using such things immediately.

Also, Fighter is a pussy. Guess a lack of sword-chucks'll do that to you.

Zergrinch Aug 13, 2010 09:16 AM

Oh, okay. I only read "at-will" and thought, "O HAY MELEE BASIC ATTACK IS AT WILL YIPPEE".

:(

Regarding the retreat, I can't decide whether Pang is cutting us a break, or he wants to deny us experience and loots. Damn, he's hard to read.

wvlfpvp Aug 13, 2010 09:18 AM

I'm gonna guess that's to keep you from triggering it if you miss your free aegis attack.

Zephyrin Aug 13, 2010 11:24 AM

Regarding action points, we're still pretty fucked right now, so using them is a good idea.

And yay, Endure Pain.

Zergrinch Aug 13, 2010 11:54 AM

Puyet's still got 1 action point and retains use of Flattening Charge (Valid targets without expending the AP are FITR, BMAG, GRLD, and J109 Yeti) :)

Forget I said anything. Thought it was Puyet's turn.

Zephyrin Aug 13, 2010 12:14 PM

I just spent an action point to choke slam the princess. (totally worth it) So I'm out, duders.

Zergrinch Aug 13, 2010 12:17 PM

Still got one more in your wiki sheet. Unless Pang didn't update, of course.

Scent of a Grundle Aug 13, 2010 01:19 PM

You can only use one AP per encounter, though, Zerg.

The unmovable stubborn Aug 13, 2010 01:46 PM

I houseruled that away, though. It is a boring rule, and I dismiss it.
