The dwarf spun in annoyance at the newcomer.

"Right. Look here, new jack. Lay your hands on me one more time and I'll cut yer balls off, yeah?"

With that he dug his feet in and turned to glower after the jar that was generally floating around and being creepy. His weapon glowed with the intensity of all that was righteous of Kord's wrath and anger. The white light filled the corridor as he stalked his prey and swung out viciously with his axe, the light arcing out towards the creature.

second wind. Divine strength. Radiant delirium.

The unmovable stubborn Apr 3, 2009 02:30 AM

Fed up with all these Kord-damned floating brains in this Kord-damned dungeon, the paladin unleashes the most vicious blow he can muster. The jar is dashed violently to the floor, fractures erupting all over its surface as the jar's noxious fluids begin to leak out onto the stones. The brain's ascent back into the air is wobbly at best.

Second Wind: Gabe's HP +12 (with defense bonuses)

Radiant Delirium: CRITICAL HIT! 29 damage, jarbrain is bloodied and dazed

Suddenly bereft of its defenders, the brain worms into Gabriel's mind in a desperate attempt to save himself from the dwarf's fury. But Gabriel scarcely seems to notice the small voice in the back of his head, such is his rage.

The dwarf simply dismissed one more voice in his brain as merely another note in the growing choir taking root in his mind. What be one more word when the heavens and the gods themselves whisper to you?

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Apr 3, 2009 05:51 AM

I continued my retreat, from the hulking suits of armour with a graceful pirouette, easily ducking under their clumsy swipes. Once at a safer distance, I blasted one of them with another ice ray.

Shift south, Ray of Frost on Orange Armour

The dwarf turned on his heels and took pace towards the animated armour that slumped and dipped limply. A short slide as he approached took him opposite the mage, hoping to draw the thing's attention and split its vision as his axe swung in a vicious arc towards its midsection. His knuckled were white as they gripped the hilt of his weapon, the rage at the loss of the cleric still fresh in his mind. These mindless creatures would feel the sudden wrath of his vengeance. He knew there were more beasts lurking in these catacombs, and they too would be destroyed at his hands. Let them come. Let them all fall. He would collapse against Kord himself before he let these beasts overwhelm his friends again.

Move to Q27. Righteous Smite on bloodied armour.
Hit: SUCCESFUL!
Damage: 14 + 6 = 20!
Hit points for everybody! (Except Garr)

As the beast doubled over in the face of his blessed rage, the paladin pointed his axe at the remaining armour and grinned. "You are next, abomination."

Divine Challenge on Yellow armour

Bradylama Apr 5, 2009 08:27 AM

Argumentus makes way to Q27, striking the Yellow Armor while it busies itself with the woman.

Reaping Strike on Yellow Armor
Hit! 10 damage to Yellow Armor

The unmovable stubborn Apr 5, 2009 09:43 AM

Orange Armor destroyed. Yellow Armor bloodied & marked.

The brain finally gets its cartwheeling jar under control to find a very angry Garrmondo staring down at it. Under immediate peril, it suggests (ever so subtly) to Garrmondo that he might want to run in the opposite direction. The fighter promptly turns on his heel and flees back to the east, and the brain floats into the west doorway before vanishing into thin air once again.

Garr dominated; brain goes to L18 before turning invisible

I was running out of retreating space quickly but my companions had come to my aid and distracted the malevolent suit of armour enough for me to again duck out of punching range and deliver an icy blast to the thing's mid-section.

Shift south again, Ray of Frost again

Motsognir swings his axe wildly, not hitting anything.

GABRIEL HITS THE ARMOR WITH HIS AXE

EDIT: HE MISSES

The unmovable stubborn Apr 10, 2009 01:23 PM

Tired of waiting for Gabriel to fucking do something, Motsognir body-checks the paladin into the last of the armors. The homunculus staggers into the wall and collapses into a heap.

'sup artistic license

Deprived of his guardians the jarbrain does the only thing it can, charging forward in maniacal desperation.

"You'll never take me alive! Primarily because my existence is an obscene parody of living, at best!"

knkwzrd Apr 10, 2009 01:35 PM

Cocky after pushing around the other dwarf, Motsognir strolls over to the brain and tries to kill it.

Bloody Ending

The unmovable stubborn Apr 10, 2009 02:09 PM

Fed up with the brain's yammering, Soggy swiftly puts his axe through the jar. It smashes into dozens of shards, and the brain splatters unceremoniously onto the floor. The puddle of vile slime spreads over the stones and the brain wriggles pathetically, babbling out telepathic nonsense in its death throes.

Bloody Ending: 20 damage to Brain (destroyed)

Victory! 775 XP (155 XP each)

The unmovable stubborn Apr 10, 2009 05:31 PM

Garrmondo finds strange, faceted chunks of amber inside each of the armor's helmets. Whether these were just decoration or had some purpose in animating the things, he couldn't say — but he could say "How much for these weird rocks, shopkeep?"

And in the end, certain kinds of linguistics are much more useful.

4 chunks amber worth 100 GP each

Motsognir moves on to the room from whence came the brain, hoping to pocket something valuable before anyone follows.

Argumentus sits for a spell.
