EDIT: Sigh, I'm stuck on the 228th floor boss. Only because of it using a SUPER CHEAP version of Life/Spirit Drain. Life Drain takes up a fucking 200hp from you while the latter takes 120sp. DO NOT WANT 3X ON YUKARI GOD DAMNIT

I still do not know how to beat that one without using this super cheap trick.

Spoiler:
The snakes will default to use fire break on any member with fire protection. First thing, always. You can use Dekunda to remove fire break. Bring three members that null fire and use Dekunda every round, you have them stuck in a loop. Bring Junpei and the dog. The hard part is coming up with a persona that has fire protection and Dekunda. I ended up with an Incubus that did this through fusion, but I cannot remember the exact combinations that landed me there. A legitimate strategy for that particular boss still eludes me.

Xellos Nov 3, 2007 10:27 AM

I don't think there is one. Those are fuckers are pretty much immune to all magic right? on top of that they do tetrakarn to make them even cheaper. It's at these fights that shows again how bad they AI is, Akikiko, Mitsuru and Yukari when set on full assault will do the AOE magics even if it only does 11 damage. /sigh.

Trance Machina Nov 3, 2007 10:31 AM

If Dekunda works like that, then I'll definitely be trying that since I have a Surt with Dekunda through fusion (I do believe).

The only problem would then be Junpei, since he's level 17 right now. If this works it wouldn't matter right? Since they wouldn't attack. Still would be risky though.

228 boss:
Except Ice and Electricity I do beleive.

Chaotic Nov 3, 2007 01:26 PM

Oh... THAT group... I beat that one not too long ago... Koro basically used Fire Break, while I used Megidola on those bastards. Also had Mitsuru who constantly used Mabufula and Bufudyne and Akihiko using Ziodyne and Mazionga... They basically absorbed the attacks coming at them. <_<

Yeah... I didn't exactly find this one hard for some reason. That was basically my strategy and it seemed to work... More importantly, get some Break skills so the bosses magic resistance will be gone and you can whip out a full assault.

Which works. :3:

Spoiler:
I have Junpei set on Standby since he can't do anything while Koromaru and Yukari just do normal attacks against it (I guess Garudyne isn't a good idea Yukari?). Might take awhile, but it's definitely better than any other attempts I've done.

Can't wait till I get Monad though, then the fun can really begin.

While I was looking up the Persona 3 FES opening, I was greeted with something that looked promising.

YouTube - Persona 3 FES Opening

Reading the description, I saw that they said Persona 3 FES would be released Feburary 2008. Now I don't know where they got their info from or if it's true or not (it is youtube) so I'm taking it with a grain of salt.

Not holding my breath, but just in case...

rpgcrazied Nov 5, 2007 07:53 PM

October spoilers:
Yeah, he's dead alright. Can't do a thing about it! Though he was sweet enough to let you use hammers, because some of them are pretty damn cool (Crit Up [High] + 300 ATK? :D). I sorta guessed something like that would happen because his persona was way to powerful at our level.

If that's the case... I'm not hesitating to drop another $50 on this game.

This is probably one of the best RPGs I've ever played, and getting a couple more hours out of it would be totally worth it. Especially if it means closure for several things in game.

I hope it's true. :tpg:

A couple, more than that. :tpg:

There's a new difficulty (Hard), there's new endings for most, if not all, S. Links. There's a new S.Link (dating Aigis~), so new persona. And the episode after the game is said to add at least 30 hours onto it.

Seriously, this is so big that I"m surprised Atlus tried to deny at first that FES was coming. I really hope Atlus USA does localize it so much that I'm grasping onto little things like that video.

rpgcrazied Nov 5, 2007 10:15 PM

i bet all we get is the episode yourself append disk.

but then you wouldnt get all the other neat extras.. better than nothing i guess.

Chaotic Nov 6, 2007 10:21 AM

Regarding FES:
Does anyone know who the Aeon Social Link is associated with?

Xellos Nov 6, 2007 10:21 AM

So FES is just the original game, with added scenes and changes to gameplay? exactly how much extra is there? because honestly that doesn't look very appealing on first sight.

And if this is indeed the case, I don't get why they didn't just release FES right away. I'm sure it must have already been out when they did P3.

Because there are a lot of things in there that would be controversial if brought over and I think Atlus USA was thinking of the fans and how they probably didn't want censorship to begin with. I've been reading around and from the looks of it, the game would get an AO release here because of our shitty censorship. Which would mean no release. ;(

But since people are voicing their opinion and are open to censorship, they will definitely think about it.

Also there were two releases of Persona 3. The Append Disc and Independent version. The Append Disc needed you to put in Persona 3 before you started up then switch back to FES. This is Episode Aigis and does not include Episode Yourself (which is what the main game is). The Independant version of the game is basically the 'director's cut' of the game with new S.Link endings, an extra S.Link, new persona, persona move lists changed and a bonus is Hard Mode. Episode Aigis is supposed to tie up loose ends with the ending of Persona 3 and is basically the 'true ending'. I remember how people were using the 'omg we won't get the real ending!!!' as an excuse. Funny.

Also, Monad can only be unlocked now by beating Reaper, which is harder. I know on Normal you'll get by with 75-80 maybe, but hard mode will require 85-90 even possibly 99. Which would render Monad useless during that playthrough :P.

More maybe spoilerish about FES:
You can also date Elizabeth in FES, but those are just requests and not related to any S.Links.

EDIT: I forgot, that a lot of the school days change completely and exams have different questions in the Independant version. Also, the Naganaki Shrine is more useful in FES. You can pray to it to get random, helpful effects.

So all in all, FES adds a LOT of stuff to the main game. Enough to make you want to play it again after beating it, plus with an all new episode that will probably add roughly 30-40 more hours of gameplay? I know I'm pouring 130 hours into the main game (more doing a 2nd 100% play through) so over 200 hours on this game? That would be awesome~

I really hope Atlus USA does the Independent version of the game over the Append Disc. But if they must, I will not argue with them, it'd just be nice. ;(

Actually, FES came out while they were in the middle of localizing Persona 3. So I don't think they would have quit because it's not like they can just copy-pasta the translation.

ALRIGHT I AM DONE EDITING/POSTING NOW.

rpgcrazied Nov 6, 2007 11:04 PM

Confirmed:

Persona movie

PERSONA ‰f‰æƒyƒ‹ƒ\ƒi@ŽRè^ŽÀ‰Žå‰‰ (live action? dunno bout that)

Opening in Japan on 1/26/2008

along with that

Persona 3 Anime: Persona -Trinity Soul-

MOON PHASE »¨µ.

http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/9...0856265iw1.jpg

Rough idea:

-Story takes place 10 years after the events of P3, in the new future-development city - Ayanagi (probably translated it wrong)

-Still no clue who the enemies are yet, but instead of the usual case of apathy syndrome...we now have dead inside-out bodies ("Reverse" incidents).

-3 main characters -> the shingo brothers, hence the name Trinity Soul

Despite similar apperances, the main character is most likely NOT Ken (altough who knows).

wonder if its gonna be an ova, or a full blown series..

Trance Machina Nov 18, 2007 02:56 AM

Really? Wow, they better bring FES if they are doing this. D:

Coming to say: THE FINAL BOSS IS A BITCH.

Final Boss:
Not only does the boss have 25,500 HP (spread among 13 forms, plus 6000 for the last. But in the last form, it becomes strong to everything but Almighty (expect to see 80-90 damage tops at level 76). Good luck trying to live because it will eventually start throwing Hamaon (Justice) and Mudoon (Hermit and Hanged Man) and those apparently hit for about as much as Samara and Die For Me! does...a lot.

I had about 15 precious eggs and 5 somas. I died with all my SP running out due to running out of healing items.

The final boss is definitely a challenge. But I'm not going to go through the time every time I lose (I fought for 1.5 hours before dieing) so I'm just going to use Armageddon once I make Lucifer and Satan. Ugh >/

rpgcrazied Nov 23, 2007 09:51 PM

Lol, i just got to him tonight.

Spoiler:
only got to the 2nd form.. when he starts spamming spells twice in a row, then using an almighty attack. damn. I guess lvl 67 isnt enough

SenorKaffee Nov 28, 2007 01:27 AM

Phew, I just started and the Dating Sim part is already giving me headaches. This is starting to become like real life - everyone wants a piece of me and I never have time for minor things like sleep.

It would be nice to now which choices are really important. I mean, can I complete the game with just choosing a few friends and not let a club eat up my time? How often should I enter the Tartarus?

Chaotic Nov 28, 2007 01:50 AM

I STILL NEED TO FINISH UP THE GAME... WHY THE HELL HAVE I BEEN STALLING FOR A MONTH NOW?!

Spoiler:
Yay for having an Almighty attacker. :3: I need to grind like hell also. T_T

Dr. Uzuki Nov 28, 2007 01:53 AM

Joining clubs is nearly identical to any other normal friendship (read: s. link). You just have certain days you can build them. Not certain days you have to. Although, many of the non clubs are also only available certain days of the week.

You should max out all the social links you can, but to get the better ones at the end, at the beginning you should definitely work on your academics/courage/charm, and do so almost daily in the most efficient way you can find. You can choose not to think too hard and not be so calculating about it and still get along to the end of the game, but once you see the max level s. link experience boost during fusion, you'd be happy you'd chosen a more focused approach.

You can feel safe to leave Tartarus alone under these conditions.

- You've reached the tallest point available to you in the tower.
- You've fulfilled all current quests given a time limit
- The most lucrative enemies for experience take a long while to raise your and your party members' levels (but mainly you).
- You're satisfied with your current cash level
- You're satisfied with your current roster of persona

All that being said, you should know that the night before a full moon, none your characters will get tired at all. So, if you don't mind a long grind session, you can put off most everything until that day.

SenorKaffee Nov 28, 2007 04:59 PM

Alright - still sounds like stress. :D

ZeroSlash Nov 30, 2007 03:55 PM

I picked this off of /v/ so take with a grain of salt.

"RPG fans of Europe will be happy today to learn that Q1 will be a good quarter for them in deed.
We all know that persona 3 is due for a January 28th release, but Atlus have announce that it will be the first English language territory to get Persona 3 FES which doesn't ship to America until March.
But not only is that the only treat RPG fans will be getting as Bandai have announced that some time this quarter will also be the release of the First .hack//GU game Rebirth in the pal territory, Over a year late is still better than not getting the game I guess."

If anybody can get a hold of said magazine to confirm I believe this is the news we've been waiting for.

Gechmir Nov 30, 2007 04:14 PM

With all these rumors and hints as well as slip-ups (ie: resume stuff a few pages back), it sounds almost like a slam-dunk that we're getting FES =o Or so one would think =I

rpgcrazied Nov 30, 2007 07:20 PM

so im guessing, its not just the episode on the disc.. its the full game an all that?

lol, i still havent beat it.. the final boss is damn hard

Persona 3: Fes

Only seven more days until the official announcement of an English release of Persona 3: Fes!

~ TIME ~

ZeroSlash Feb 18, 2008 03:07 PM

Today on Atlus USA's website there is now a countdown clock with a cut off image that looks like a door. Now if you compare this image to a scene in the Intro Movie at around 00:53 it looks just like the image in the countdown clock.

So it finally looks like FES will finally be coming over. I'll personally be looking forward to the customizable weapons so I don't have to rely on luck for the append skills/bonuses on the weapons.
