Yeah its awesome, I was browsing some mods there earlier and saw it like an hour after I posted that, lol.

Personally I'm waiting for when they expand the borders, giving us updated versions of the surrounding providences. Expansion Pack is a possability too, if the developers wanna do it... but I imagine a fanmod is the farthest it would go.

A possibility? They spent years working on the engine, and you think they won't at least release one expansion? I'm pretty sure they'll release an expansion, and it wouldn't surprise me if they're working on it right now.

Mucknuggle Mar 31, 2006 02:02 PM

They probably have a few expansion packs planned out for the surrounding areas. Heck, maybe they'll even release a Morrowind pack.

Why would they do that? I'm not going to spent my money on that.

Years? Odd, it seemed to me that they just used the Morrowind engine and beefed up the graphics/combat/AI. :edgartpg:

I'm talking about the region. Obviously it would have new quests and stuff.

They rewrote it, you know.

Forsety Mar 31, 2006 03:59 PM

This game doesn't seem very similar to Morrowind at all IMO. It has a similar sense of exploration (which daggerfall had as well...) but everything else has been rewritten entirely from scratch. Morrowind had a very, very restrictive engine that was poorly designed and poorly optimized. Oblivion's is much better even if it seems to look the same from first glance.

NICE. If you don't like lockpicking or are getting angry with finding picks, go do the quest at Nocturne. Search on Gamefaqs under "Skeleton" so you can get results on a Skeleton Key query. Skeleton Key is an indestructible lockpick. After getting it, you're given a permanent +40 to Security. Fantastic tool. The quest to get it isn't too bad. Just try to be around level 10.

All the quests that involve speaking to these God/Goddess statues in the wilderness give fantastic rewards. This is my second one. Anyone know where some other statues like this exist? That give out quests, I mean.

Head to Leyawin, stay on the eastern side of the river, and walk north along the road. Watch your radar for a statue-site. There'll be three NPCs there and a small bridge leading to a bigass statue. Enjoy =D

Grundlefield Earth Mar 31, 2006 09:27 PM

Everytime I hear Leyawin it reminds me of some characterr or town in LOTRs. What am I thinking of?

Gechmir Mar 31, 2006 09:50 PM

Arwyn? =o Maybe? I 'unno~

Casaubon Apr 1, 2006 01:56 AM

Eowyn, probably.

Thanks for the skeleton key tip, I suck at lockpicking.

Mucknuggle Apr 1, 2006 02:05 AM

When do you hear the double click for lockpicking? I always hear a high-pitch click and then a lower pitch one. I don't get it.

Grundlefield Earth Apr 1, 2006 02:45 AM

on the xbox 360 I don't notice clicks, but maybe if I listen for it now I'll hear it. I just press A whenever the tumbler reaches the top at the exact moment.

Dark Nation Apr 1, 2006 03:34 AM

Anyone looking for Daedric Shrines?
Look no further:

Also, I finally got around to joining the thieves guild... now I gotta snatch stuff a lot, woo.

Forsety Apr 1, 2006 04:51 AM

It's the low click you hear. It's a low, slight double clink, and it implies the tumbler is going to stay up for maybe a full second instead of instantly dropping down.

Okay, so I royally fucked my Oblivion(the one in My Games and the /Oblivion directory) .ini files up, of course I didn't make a back-up. Can someone post the original file or just there's that actually works, I'm sad I'm addicted and now I can't even play.

This one works, but I did change some stuff via the tweaking. You may want to search "unloadcells" and change that back to a 0 if you aren't getting slightly lower performance playing over time. I changed that and it unloads a screen every two or three loads to keep my memory from being gobbled up and slowly killing my FPS. Not everyone seems to have this problem, and it causes more loading time because you have to reload everything so I figured I should mention it.

I heard that the game will make a new default ini if you delete the ini file and load your game.

taking nothing away from grawls and his friends guide, there is a guide on gamefaqs that covers lots of the main quest for those who want help, gives very good detailed walkthrough of most of them.

Mucknuggle Apr 1, 2006 04:40 PM

If you're referring to the one by A I e x then I can almost guarantee that it's quality. He writes good guides. I haven't encountered the need to use a good during any quests yet though. The marker and journal seem to give you all of the info that you need.

Oddly enough, check out their page today. :D

There's a mod team working on a Morrowind addition already, I don't know how far they are but they are certainly taking it seriously from what I've seen on their website. There are quest writers and everything. I for one certainly welcome (quality) additions to the landmass, not that the game is too small for me or anything.

Anyway! No more soup--forget the "no soup for you" hack, this is vastly superior. No water reflection bugs, no fps drop, no "bouncing bug". And best of all, no ugly gridding, and no blurry crap either. <3
