So, legally speaking, I finally get to hear the line "Stop calling me mommy!" As long as I don't have to fuck with any filters (again) to get Sin and Punishment running graphically tolerable, I'm very much looking forward to this.

Going to buy Landstalker now due to awesome Sega Channel memories. Can anybody confirm when US is getting Pit Fighter and Awesome Pawsome?

Sword Familiar Sep 7, 2007 09:37 AM

Stranger things have happened, I guess. *zips mouth about localizations until this has been proven false*

That's pretty rad news, and ten bucks says even though it's been rated by the Aussie board first, America will get it months before us. :3: Wait I don't have ten bucks! This and Pilotwings 64 (IF NINTENDO REMEMBERS IT EXISTS) will probably be the only two N64 games I'd get on the VC.

Should I be disturbed that when I first saw this, it looks like Rikku and Yuna?

Yes. They obviously don't.

This week on Virtual Console US (9/10/07):

NES Play Action Football (NES)
Neutopia II (TG16)
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Genesis)

Sonic 3 is a definite download for me. The other two, never played either of them. However, looking at the icon for Neutopia II it's almost reminding me of the title screen for Zelda II.

Neutopia II, with even more Zelda-ripping-off power than the first! <3

Goddamn EPIC

The Plane Is A Tiger Sep 10, 2007 05:25 PM

But is it GOOD? I've never heard of Neutopia, so if it's a good Zelda ripoff I might buy it.

Well it should turn out to be awesome but the real question is, should I wait for Sonic 3 AND Knuckles..?

EDIT : Nvm..bought it ^^;.

Macksis Sep 10, 2007 06:08 PM

Does anyone remember Keith Courage and the Alpha Zones for the TG-16?

wvlfpvp Sep 10, 2007 06:26 PM

IGN seemed to think it was a good rip-off.

Oh wait, we're not supposed to pay attention to REVIEWS WITH NUMERICAL SCORES/IGN. I'll be in the corner flogging myself.

The Neutopia games are actually pretty decent. A Link to the Past is of course better in every way, but Neutopia I and II weren't five minute rush jobs or anything like that. They're good for at least one play, especially if you like that sort of game.

Warning, though, in case you're expecting otherwise: Neutopia II is not to I as LttP is to the first LoZ. The graphics look damn near the same, etc. II plays basically like a continuation of I.

Fucking Christ, Nintendo/Sega.

Yet it's the same way with games like Super Mario Bros. and Zelda. I haven't downloaded it yet, I gotta add some Wii points since Super Metroid took the last of it.

Matt Sep 10, 2007 08:21 PM

Play Action Football?
I wonder if the team rosters are updated. lolz

wvlfpvp Sep 10, 2007 09:33 PM

But I can already play SMB on Animal Crossing and Zelda on that disc that nobody got.

Why would I buy it yet again?

FatsDomino Sep 10, 2007 09:55 PM

QFT. I bought Super Metroid even though I have the cart. I didn't get any of the Zelda games though, cause I own them way too many times already... Though I'll probably get Link to the Past anyway, and SMRPG when it comes out. Instead of dragging out the SNES again, y'know?

wvlfpvp Sep 11, 2007 07:55 AM

Thing is, at some point I wanna drag out the SNES to play through Secret of Evermore again in non-emulated format, so why buy SMRPG? (my answer is so that Squeenix might release other games if their collabo with Nintendo sells well TERRANIGMA FINGERS CROSSED)

Infernal Monkey Sep 13, 2007 04:08 AM

NeoGeo games headed to America's VC. First three titles are Fatal Fur-TERRY BOGARD, World Heroes and Art of Fighting. Terry Bogard's VC outing has also appeared on the OFLC.

Hay also.

For some reason Lost Levels is a limited time thing, it'll only be avaliable on the Shop 'til the end of this month, then it's gone. The other games will stay though. Also these are all more expensive than usual. Oh Nintendo.

And theeeeeeeen:
Now PC Engine CD-ROM games are confirmed for the VC. Moon text. Seems these will be the first two games in Japan.

map car man words telling me to do things Sep 14, 2007 08:23 AM

Soooo wait, Sin and Punishment isn't a time limited thing?

Hot damn if that isn't an awesome move. Have they released japan only games like that (apart from turbografx) for VC before or are these just some special campaign?

Rock Sep 14, 2007 08:29 AM

The release of Sin & Punishment for VC outside Japan is really the first time this service gets put to good use. I'm not interested in crappy emulation of old games I've already played, but official releases of games that never made their way across the big pond are a nice move.

I'm officially excited for a VC release for the first time.

MrMonkeyMan Sep 14, 2007 09:00 AM

Wait, wait wait! Cho Aniki?! Hah!

What about North America though? We like Sin and Punishment too :(

Ah, who am I kidding, I don't even own a Wii.

FatsDomino Sep 14, 2007 09:46 AM

If Australia and New Zealand are getting these then you can be damn sure we're getting them too.

I'm not liking these one time only deals though. What happens if you run out of space and delete it? Can you re-download it again like the other VC games or do they completely remove the limited time only game from the server forever. =/

Also CD games are nice news but uhhhhh... where's the space for it all, Nintendo? A harddrive would REALLY be appreciated, you know.
