Classic controller works great. Although I did remap the buttons. And if you get one of those grip thingies for it, it's pretty much just as good as a gamecube controller.

Good to know I'm not the only one. Only once have I seen anyone join, and the game crashed before the match even started (I was still in the practice area.

Played through SSE with my sister up to part where Samus got her suit. It's pretty long. Played several hours and I'm not even at 50% yet although I am close.

I couldn't find anyone online to play against, which is very strange. I did play some matches with Kairyu and BigCN401. Great fun. I sucked though. I'm usually the one who dies first >_>

Ah, I just woke up. Unlocked all characters and beat the SSE with my friend. Yeah, it was pretty long. I have no idea how you unlock Toon Link via the SSE. I got him after beating SSE and doing Classic with Lucas. I hear in the Japanese version you would get him by going through it with Link or some nonsense. You are supposed to be able to go through Classic with any character and unlock Jigglypuff in the Japanese version but that is not the case for the American version. You unlock her via the The Swamp. There are a billion barrel cannons at the end. Avoid the barrel cannons, swim, and take the first door that you'd normally be forced to pass because of the damn barrel cannons. You'll be warped to fight Jigglypuff. To unlock Wolf go to The Ruins. You'll have to go all the way to the end. You'll end up going down this long moving platform with crystal spikes jutting out at you. DO NOT TAKE THE FIRST DOOR. Ignore the first door and the platform will continue moving down. Take the second door and you'll be warped to fight Wolf. Oh yeah you can redo these levels on Easy and still unlock these characters although the fights will not be on Easy. *shrug*

I beat SSE on Normal because that's how I play games first and I don't care to go through the monotony of getting raped by stupid enemies that I tend to ignore and run past because I tired of fighting them hours ago.

i tried the online at a friend's house and no one went on for like 10 minutes, kinda sucks. but the offline 4 player multiplayer is still awesome, i find it to be way more chaotic than melee, with the smash ball and tons of items dropping to the ground. i love the smash ball, it's probably the best addition to the game.

Has anyone remedied the play with anyone problem where you can't get anyone else to join? It's the damndest thing because I can spectate just fine.

Hah, screwed without a preorder, eh? Target had like 20 copies on the shelf. They weren't anywhere near close to sold out when I went by around noon. This should easily be available all week to anybody who missed the train, just have to avoid Gamestop and the like.

I'm not really liking the platforming levels in SSE. The controls are just not set up for those kinds of jumps, and my brother and I have been suffering an awful lot of cheap deaths because of it. Nothing TOO frustrating, since they at least let you continue from the same screen.

I'm almost afraid to post my friend code since I'm still just trying to learn basic strategies, but I'm 3609-0721-7335. I'll appear online as MKing, naturally enough. Now you guys can come on and make a complete mockery of me. :p

EDIT: Or you can, once I get my network issues resolved. For some ridiculous reason my Wii will not stay connected to the wireless router. I might need to move it to another room.

Just curious, but to those that have played online, how has the games been for you? I had a match earlier with Kai, and things went ok. Only thing that slightly urked me was the lag in input. :erm:

Btw, I think we were almost even in final smash uses that match. The were showing up like candy,

lol I played a random online match against two scrubs and a computer. It was laggy as hell. I have no idea why because I did a spectator match after and it had no lag at all. Anyway, I just demolished them with Lucas and then did PK Starstorm and blew everyone on screen away. Oh the victory music was quite sweet. After my spectator match in which my bet against the fag team that had Sonic and Lucario I lost my connection. Wireless is very silly.

During my match with ROB (who's ROB? ;_;~) I found the match to be so laggy I could barely see what I was doing. Talk about stop motion gameplay :gonk:.
But yeah, I think I'll blame the overloaded SSBB service for now. My 15 or so matches with Freelance Wolf were relatively lag-free =)

Haha, I'm ROB. I apologize for the super laggy game, I think someone was having fun with the router while we were playing =/ I'm going to try again some more tonight once things calm down.

I also think I'm going to change my nick to Roll...I used ROB in Melee (when you could only have 4 chars, gasp!) but it's just going to get confusing with the ROB robots in the game.

I was playing early and kept getting kicked off Wi-fi, but reading earlier in the thread I'm glad it wasn't just me. That would also explain my puzzling over why I could barely find any players for random brawling too. It is quite awesome how there was virtually no lag online and hopefully that'll keep up.

For the record, I hate the Ice Climbers, and prefer to use Lucas XD Feel free to intrude on my hosted games if you see me online after adding me!

People, spectator match are "recorded" session that's downloaded. That's why there's no lag since the match has already happen. There's no "live" spectator as it will lag the hell out of everybody.

Oh no, I knew that much about spectator mode. I did manage to get some brawls with online brawlers, although the Ike pretty much owned me.

As in most other games I seem to like doing things that most people don't really care about. I sort of wish we had a screenshot contest or something. I would love to see what kinds of crazy snapshots GFFers take :3

I head out to Target to get the game and make it home only to have it freeze on the now loading screen and hearing my lens go bananas trying to read it.

I reset it and then it makes it to the intro video only to have it skip. Fuck.

After a couple more restarts it is working now, but I think I'll send my wii of to Nintendo just to be on the safe side.
