Oh hell - we got Prince performing at Halftime during the Superbowl, and the 4 teams playing for their conference championships = I could care less about.
Indianapolis = I hope they lose badly (when Vinatieri kicked the last field goal I got irritated at seeing Dungy go "money, money, money!"). Plus, I'm thinking the Colts purposefully made themselves look bad this season with the crappy run defense they had. All of a sudden their defense looks great in the playoffs. Wow, way to go Colts! You had us fooled! New England = Lucky as hell they beat the Martyball. Well then again, no luck needed - let Schottenheimer be the stupid playoff coach he is. Anyway, I hope they lose too, since they've hogged the playoffs and Superbowls this century (where's Denver when you need em? OH well, losing to a 5-10 team in the last game of the season proves you don't deserve any playoff contention) New Orleans = I'll be rooting for them. Since #1 San Diego can't get it done, perhaps Drew Brees can have his sigh of relief that he jumped off the Martyball to a new team with new weapons in hand. Yeah, Chicago has the #1 defense in the NFL, but I don't think the stats are good enough to hold back Deuce, Reggie, Drew, Joe, and Marques. Perhaps they'll take a 2-score lead and kick another onside kick like they did vs Dallas. That was sweet! Bears = Rex Grossman doesn't care how they win - he just wants that Superbowl ring. OK REX - even if you throw an interception or 5, just as long as the defense can hold the Saints at bay, and have them punt it back into your control. In which you can make another first down, then throw another interception. The Bears were reluctant enough to swat down throws that would have turned into interception TD returns for the Seahawks. Alexander kept it a close game as well, so Deuce will most likely pose the same threat. I bet these guys will lose - and Rex will definitely have to consider another team or 2nd string. |
I prediciting the home teams will win - I might change my mind before kickoff. I have a gut feeling the Colts will win it all because they are on a roll - similar to the Steelers last year. I hope I'm wrong because I don't like Manning (who does?).
I hope the Bears lose - 'cos I'm a Packer fan. |
Well the NFC Championship game looks to be over. After that Reggie Bush 88 yard TD (which was awesome to watch BTW), the Bears basically decided to be better on offense.
32-14 in the 4th. Looks like the Bears are headed to the Superbowl (and Lovie Smith technically being the first black coach to go to it - as long as they finish off the game). |
I may have to destroy Fred Thomas.

WHO DAT GONNA BEAT DEM SAINTS?

I like how Tom Brady just ran off the field when that game was over.
"brb cutting myself" |
So much I could say about Tony Dungy after what he did for this franchise and this city. God I was so happy when that pass was picked. Tony, with all his class and respect, will be able to play for a title.

I hate the Pats and I hate the Colts, so tonight was kind of a lose/lose situation for me. That being said, I really fucking hate Tom Brady, and the game was pretty damn entertaining.
Here's hoping the Bears will dismember the fuckers. |

I second the Amen.
This looks like a good battle though. I cant wait until Manning loses his first super bowl appearance. |
Alright, now that I'm a little calmer...
The Pats and Colts both had gifts in this game (Caldwell wide open a couple of times, the catch in the end-zone where the guy was pushed out), but once the game got down to 3 minutes and the Colts had the ball I knew it was over. Brady just had to throw a pick and that would do it OH HEY LOOK WHAT HAPPENED. I can imagine every Patriots fan thinking to themselves when they got possession in the last minute, "This looks familiar..." I wrote the Patriots off after the Colts scored. There's no way anyone can hang this loss on Tom Brady...he did everything he could to keep the Patriots in this one but the bad wide receiving and the aging and depthless defense ultimately did the trick. They had the Colts so many times in this game and they just let them stick around. The Colts are now guaranteed to win the Super Bowl; there's no way the NFL will let the Bears, led by Rex Grossman, Mr. "I didn't give 100%," beat Mr. "I'm the best quarterback in the NFL so I should win a Super Bowl." The first-black-coach-in-the-Super-Bowl angle has no relevance now...how about the first black quarterback to WIN a Super Bowl? |

Go Bears! Grossman for president! |
I was 1/2 in my picks. I loved the Bears in that game, but had the Pats too. Everyone will be predicting a Colts blowout but I think Bears play it close and maybe win it.

I thought I was gonna be so wrong for picking the Colts to win when the Pat went up 21 - 3. As much as I don't like Manning and Polian, I want the Colt to kick da Bears' ass! |

damn straight :tpg: amazing game indeed. haha, that first-black-coach-in-the-super-bowl angle was kinda funny. and then we got the second-black-coach-in-the-super-bowl and it was like, owait... |
