Get out of this thread right now, it contains unfiltered spoilers!

I'll make sure to get the DVD set when it comes out then. I'm sure it won't be a big disappointment.

Don't worry, I haven't spoiled anything yet! :D

Did anyone else remember Chloe when she was on that short-lived show on Fox called The Sketch Show? I don't really remember if she was funny or not, I just remember she was on it.
I haven't, but on the same note, she was also seen here and there on the HBO series Mr. Show with Bob Odenkirk and David Cross. It was hilarious (most of the time).

Tonight's episode:

Pretty good. Sweet Martha kill / save of Aaron.

I'm still kinda "meh" about how these last episodes are finishing up. I wished for something more epic (there haven't been any big twists for a long time).

Spoiler:
With Martha saying "YOU'RE A MURDERER!" to the prez, I wonder if Aaron doesn't survive the next couple eps. Of course, Logan has been responsible for other deaths, but for her to say it with such emotion...

At least we'll get a cool stand-off between the president and Jack (maybe), with him shouting "YOU'RE GONNA FACE JUSTICE" or whatever.

nazpyro May 15, 2006 10:10 PM

I think that "meh" feeling is outweighing whatever awesomeness this episode had for me. Maybe it has something to do with Bush delaying Bauer, probably not. However the hell it came to this, the last 2 hours have been set up to be legendary. Can't wait. >_>

Jack pawning Miles at the beginning was sweet.

Martha shooting that guy to save Aaron was awesome as well. She is so gonna hook up with him after Jack makes her a widow.

It was pretty funny to see that Hendreson really was helping them, even though Jack and the others thought that he was betraying them. This definitely helped to show that Henderson used to work for CTU, and that he still has some love for his country.

Why did that guy even open up the hatch on the submarine? CTU was already sending over teams to check out the area, so there was no need for him to check outside.

Next Week:
Jack vs. Logan: The Final Showdown. Oh shit!

My favorite line of the episode: "Is there anything else Charles?"

I really hope that Aaron gets a starring role next season.

I dunno, like they make him a CTU agent or something. So far he hasn't really stretched his acting chops.

I'm also hoping for "President Heller" to happen.

RacinReaver May 15, 2006 10:37 PM

What about President Heller? We all know Novick is too evil looking of a guy to take office. :(

Also, what the heck happened to the Vice President in the past couple of episodes? I feel like CTU might have wanted to get him in on the call with the attourney general.

Rockgamer May 15, 2006 10:47 PM

It seems like he, just like a lot of others this season, are just thrown to the curb once their significance to the current story is over. I doubt he'll be back this season, unless it's just to take over for Logan in the last episode or something.

Spike May 16, 2006 12:00 AM

Before the show started, they said something like "the biggest surprise of the season is coming up." Um... what the hell was the big surprise?

I never heard them say that, but I would assume that maybe they meant the fact that there was still another canister of nerve gas, and that it was actually used. However, it is FOX, so anything could have been the biggest surprise of the season for them (meaning they'll say anything in their advertising to get people to watch).

JazzFlight May 16, 2006 12:07 AM

Either the fact that Bierko escaped and set off another canister or that Martha killed a guy. Nothing too big in 24 world, though...

I hate how there haven't been any cliffhanger twists (the last minute of each hour) in the past few episodes, just "well, this is what's going on at the end of the hour" scenes like in S1.

I miss the sudden deaths, surprise villain reveals, bombs exploding, etc... that would at least give you something to talk about for the next week. Right now, it's just "oh, okay, they took a sub and are arranging missles. big whoop."

BTW, where are these freaking cronies coming from? It's like every villain has a whole army at their disposal, just waiting in the shadows for them to escape from CTU custody.

Haha seriously.

And yeah, nothing to big happened tonight. Meh, I must've misunderstood the commercial or something. Either that or they're phonies! Big fat phonies!

Tascar May 16, 2006 10:24 AM

To be honest, at this point I have no idea where the last two episodes will be heading. For all it's worth, it's quite possible that even Palmer is still alive somewhere.

Mobius One May 16, 2006 03:16 PM

Despite nobody being in the room at the time, I stood up and clapped when Martha killed that SS agent. You go grl!

So now the terrorists have control of a submarine with multi-warhead missiles. I can see it now: Jack scubba dives in through the torpedo tubes. He knocks on it from the outside and some unwitting terrorist opens it and BOOM. Some serious shit is gonna fly next episodes. Can't wait!

gaming May 16, 2006 04:00 PM

The music from season 5 is different from the 24 soundtrack right...?
Or there any other albums than the OST?

Rockgamer May 16, 2006 04:09 PM

Yes, the music in season 5 is different than the music from seasons 1-3, which is what the soundtrack covers.

As for any other albums, FOX released downloadable albums for the soundtrack to the game and for a remix bundle that contains remix versions of the 24 Theme made by Armin Van Buurin. These were digital only, and were never released on CD. You can find them here.

Yeah, I agree. I watched this week's episode with my dad, and he fell asleep during the last commercial break. By the time he had woken up, the good guys on the sub had been killed and Bierko had moved in.

It would have been much cooler had the episode ended with them asking if the sub had nuclear weapons onboard (prior to Bierko taking it over) and something happened that prevented CTU from finding out. Then we'd all be going, OH SHIT, THEY'RE GONNA GET NUKES ON THE SUB AND BLOW UP LA. Instead we just know that they have a submarine with a couple of missiles capable of taking out a few city blocks. My guesses being the presidential ranch and wherever the Russian head of state guy disappeared to (and perhaps CTU just so they can try and be assholes).

They went to the James Bond school of villany. :(

While I get your point, about cliffhanger endings I dislike your example I’m actually quite glad they told us the missiles weren’t nukes. Had they went the route you suggested I would been left thinking: "O another nuke, again, been there done that." At least the Scorpion or what ever the heck they called it was a new wrinkle on an old theme.

Agreed on all account especially Aaron. I absolutely love that guy. Giving him a larger role this season was one of the best decisions the writers made this season. Please bring him back next season O powers that be.

I really liked Henderson’s betrayal as a ploy to get the guy to lower his firewall trick. This is the kind of stuff I wanted from Henderson clever, intelligent and believable, not the "I can wake up from a coma at will" stuff they pulled when he killed Tony. It also showed a rare moment were Jack might have actually made the wrong call.

Other nice moments: Jack choking miles, Haynes little bitch-slap to Miles.

I really hope he lives. *crosses fingers* but you have a point...

A couple of theories from the preview. If you assume Jack was screaming at Logan. I honestly don’t know how CTU could get incriminating evidence with out pulling some extremely convenient Deus Ex machina. However, they have other ways to end it they could have Jack hunt down Logan on his own. It would be fitting that the day starts with Jack being falsely accused of executing a president and then having it end with him actually doing it. Or they could end it with Logan still in power (Jack was yelling a Berikio or Henderson) have CTU turn a blind eye and Jack go back in hiding till next seasons. The last theory I have is that Maratha or someone else falls on the sword either by bring Logan to death themselves or taking the blame for Jack.

Can I ask you guys what season and episode Audrey's first apperance was? And when did she and Jack first started the relationship?

Season 4, Episode 1.

Jack quit CTU and started working for the Secretary of Defense (Heller), and Audrey is Heller's daughter (and aide, I guess). Jack got involved with her before the season began, and the rest is history...

Of course, this involves how she dumps Jack because she gets freaked the fuck out since he's so brutal in his job (and he inadvertently caused her ex-husband's death).

gaming May 19, 2006 02:28 PM

Thank you Mr Jazzy.
Just out of curiousity, why did he quit CTU?

Rockgamer May 19, 2006 02:35 PM

Actually, he was fired from CTU by Erin Driscoll. Among other things from season 3, the fact that he had a cocaine addiction was one of the main reasons why he was fired. It's all on the prequel that was included on the season 3 DVD set (where you get to hear Jack curse!).

Oh, right right right.... To nitpick, though, it was a heroin addiction, not cocaine.

I remember the coolest thing was that he actually said "fuck" to her. (I forget if it was "fuck you" or "you can take this fucking job")

Yeah, my bad. I don't even know where I got cocaine from, now that I think about it.

As for what he said, I think it was something like "I can find my own fucking job", which he said in response to Driscoll telling him she could help him get another job. Badass.
