Chapter 311

It was another chapter were Team Kakashi chills for a bit. Sai is reading a few books about friends, Sakura chats with him for a bit. Emo-Naruto is thinking, the three get together to meet with Kakashi at the hospital.

It looks like the next chapter will feature something a little DBZ-ish (which is a good thing) called Training. I think Kakashi will train Naruto to have something that is the same as Sasuke's bodyflowing chidori . For Naruto, it should be the Rasengan...

This chapter was ok. As long as Kakashi is back in action.

I don't get why they Naruto has to train again only a couple weeks after 2.5 years with Jiraiya.

A lot of people seem to think that Sasuke's recent "training" is stupid and makes him a far weaker person and character than before (nobody really here, but from what I've seen on other forums). What they seem to forget is that:

Sasuke (possibly) being on drugs is probably only because he has a short amount of time to kill Itachi. Orochimaru is supposed to take his body over in six months (right?), afterall. He's probably doing whatever he can to become stronger as fast as possible.

I thought 311 was good for Sai's development. It showed his efforts for emotion, with humourous results. Quite different from the cold dickweed we met several chapters back.

In terms of the Anime, can someone tell me if whether or not they have moved on with the actual story now instead of filler eps? or is filler eps still going on? I think the newest ep released is 190. I stopped watching around ep 170 or something so i'm just wondering if its safe to start watching again. :P

Crap...I haven't seen an ep in so long...waiting for those damn fillers to end :(

Double crap, I haven't read the manga scanlations in ages too...I hafta catch up.

Can anyone tell me what filler eps (give numbers) has Shikamaru in it? I'd like to take some screengrabs of him.

Actually, the most recent filler plot line isn't too bad. I think it started about 187? Somewhere around there, but it looks promising as well as having the GOOD animators back in action.

Yeah, I thought the current filler arc is decent, with the battles being less mindless than just throwing in characters and then have Naruto pull a Rasengan. Regardless, I do wish they would finish up the fillers, but as of right now, there's at least one or two more eps of fillers just for finishing up this arc.

I've just assumed that the reason behind all of the fillers is related to one of the voice actors and an inability to have them in the studio and thus progressing the story. I wish more fillers were like the uhh--snake girl one. It took a past incident and elaborated on the storyline. Rather than presenting new silly villains, present those not previously shown, but can be related to the past of one of the characters.

You know, a good replacement for fillers is just watching the saturday night episodes on CN. I guess they are allowing the word "Hell" to be spoken by Kakashi . I think there on episode 39 ? Its where Kakashi and Orochimaru meet up together during the preliminaries. Watching that arc over again is alot better than the fillers.

Yeah, they ripped it off. Episode 133 also had Sasuke doing some poses that were ripped off from a movie (right before Naruto runs up the wall where Sasuke is standing).

With 2 good chapters in a role Kishimoto must be on drugs or something. I like how the two-tails looks cool, too bad she got owned faster than nerd. The fight will be like 12 episodes in the anime though if they ever even start again..

The "rip-offs" weren't rip-offs, they were homages. Seriously. The animation teams who worked on the Neji/Naruto fight either worked on the Cowboy Bebop movie or referenced it, ala Tarantino. Same with Sasuke's poses, which come from some famous martial arts flick.

It's pretty common in film and animation and even writing. Are there rip-offs? Definitely, but more stuff this blatant is an homage.

Both of the scenes are from Bruce Lee movies. So, neither series added anything new. Don't worry too much about it.

Nice, they introduced new jinchuuriki, a two-tailed monster cat. I personally thought she would be a big part of a story, buess I was wrong since she died off in 2nd chapter thye introduced her. Now they are aiming for Naruto(?)!

Someone needs to have some sort of giant poster/picture/gif thing to wake me up when the fillers are done. I held out till the start of february and gave up on the fillers. I mean, they haven't even started the Kakashi Gaiden arc yet in the anime have they?

Its a shame how much potential was wasted in this show due with fillers and such, but I'd have been happier with no filler and just having seperate seasons rather than fillers through out the year.

Well I don't know why people are complaing about filler. The people who are complaining about the filler obviously knows the reason it is there. So it gives manga a spare time to go further so anime doesn't catch up in couple episodes.

Of course if they have seprated season wouldn't it be like Full Metal Alchemist? 2 total different stories? That would mess up a lot of fans IMO.
