Also, has anyone else found that just alternate hitting X and triangle button in battle tends to help? I keep an eye out for reaction commands and continue to smash either button so I can nail a reaction command or continue to attack. Was wondering if this was pretty common. =X

Alright. I'll play around with some of the abilities and try again in a bit.

[EDIT:] I beat him, easy.

Wait a sec. Wild Dance is the only way you'll beat the time limit. Don't unequip Goofy's Limit, Knocksmash. It can be a pain, but that's the only way you're going to beat Demyx when he's got 25% of his health left. Demyx was kicking my ass too, but if you use Knocksmash once the battle starts getting closer to the end, it'll be a lot easier.

blisteredhands Apr 3, 2006 04:49 PM

Knocksmash kept coming up in place of wild dance, and instead of doing wild dance, I'd waste a lot of time with goofy doing absolutely nothing, and losing the battle. Just offering my advice by what worked for me. ::Shrug::

Edit: I also used Master Drive form when I wasn't doing his little time game. I did this battle once and got my butt handed to me. I went out, did some other worlds, came back, and then kicked his butt.

Inhert Apr 3, 2006 05:00 PM

I found that master form in most boss battle is a little risky, mainly because msot of the time it's donald my healer and you're no invincible in drive form. So if I have a form to do, I mostly use valor for the extra attack power and I keep my healer in case I still need it.

blisteredhands Apr 3, 2006 05:28 PM

Has anyone used a Drive form and...

Spoiler:
Turned into dark Sora? This happened to me when I was fighting Xaldin. I hadn't read the manual previous to this, and didn't know that it could happen. I wailed on him though. Dark Sora looks pretty darn cool.

Spoiler:
Yeah. I had that happen at the Disney castle against some random Heartless. Is there a requirement or something to do this?

Inhert Apr 3, 2006 05:48 PM

drive form little spoiler
Spoiler:
it's called the anti-form, the more you use the drive, the more chance you have to change into the anti-form. the anti-form can be quite powerful be his very weak in defense, so pray that you doN,t change in anti-form in a boss battle XD

Yes, Pete is a cat, and to date that hasn't changed. As for him not looking like a cat in his more modern outings, lots of other cartoon characters don't look like the animals they supposedly represent. That's the beauty of cartoons. They don't have to be confined to 'reality.' Bonkers D Bobcat, anyone?

LS Apr 3, 2006 06:00 PM

Pete had a son in Goofy movie, which actually looks like a dog.

Freelance Apr 3, 2006 06:07 PM

Well, Pete had PJ before A Goofy Movie actually. AGM is based on the TV show Goof Troop. PJ looks just like Pete though, only younger. Max and PJ and lots of other TV characters should have been in Kingdom Hearts, Gargoyles and Tale Spin especially.

Dobby Apr 3, 2006 08:58 PM

Dont know if details were given about this, but with regards to the drive form

Spoiler:

For every successful change to valor, wisdom, or master you get one point (+1)
If a party member is dead and you get a succesful change, there is no point given. (0)
For every change to anti form, four points are taken off (-4)
When you change to Final Form, ten points are taken off (-10)
When you discover a new form, the points are set to zero~

0-4 points gives a 0% chance to get anti form when activating the drive
5-9 points gives a 10% chance
10+ points gives a 25% chance.

Theres also odd modifiers

"Most scripted battles" - 2x times the chances
"Battle against Organization xiii" - 4x
"Battle against Armored Xemnas" - 10x
"Battles with non-party cooperative characters" - 0x

-Taken from the KH2 strat guide

Why am I playing as Cloud.

immp Apr 3, 2006 11:10 PM

Actually it would make more sense to put all of them back at that part in the last world:

Spoiler:
You know, where you fight the last few Org 13 members, the tombstone like place?

If Nomura makes a Final Mix version, it would be awesome if we can fight ALL 13 Org members.

And I do mean all 13 of them, people who got up to the last world will know what I'm referring to.

Spoiler:
Roxas was suppose to be a boss fight, but Nomura ran out of time so they made it into a cutscene.

Interrobang Apr 4, 2006 12:05 AM

Nomura keeps saying he's not making a Final Mix version of Kingdom Hearts II.

WolfDemon Apr 4, 2006 12:37 AM

Since the thread I made got closed...

For those of us who've beaten the game, post your Battle Reports so we can see how much we did in our first run. And I guess put tags on it for the minor spoilers. I like to play through the story the first time and get 100% afterward, so mine isn't that great.

Spoiler:
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ttleReport.jpg

(If you can't read it because of the glare and the fact that my camera sucks, they say Game LV, (Standard) Completion of Jiminy's Journal, (83%) Completion of Gummi Routes, (8%) Healed Party Members, (41 times) Saved by Mickey, (0 times) Most used Form, (Master Form, 20 times) Used Anti Form, (5 times) and Most Used Summon. (Genie, 1 time))

This is the first i thought when i was playing to the Japanese version. I still have the hope that the Pal version come with extras like Kingdom Hearts 1 that later added to Final Mix

Robin Hood has always been a Disney movie I thought would have made a perfect level in Kingdom Hearts. As far as I know the voice actor for Robin Hood is still alive (Although it wouldn't be the same Prince John since Peter Ustinov died a couple years ago :( ) I also imagine that the place Black Cauldron is set would be good too.

There's so many untapped Disney classics and favorites I'd love to see instead of all these Final Fantasy games. The music for KH2 even sounds more Final Fantasy-oriented than Disney/original.

Also, I know it's been said before, but I just don't like how Setzer looks like a fag. :\ It's like Sephiroth and Seymour shit him out or something. What is it with all that guy's designs for male characters to make them look girlish. What happened to someone looking cool and gruff?

Inhert Apr 4, 2006 09:13 AM

you know that it's Yoko Shimomura that did the music, which she is a member of SE not Disney, so yeah the music will look more FF than Disney >.> (even if she didn't do any final fantasy game music >.>)

Just finish the game with 32h of gameplay ^^ GOD this game is AWESOME! the ending wasn't as strong as the first one but still a PERFECT ending ^^ I wich we could have sseen more of whathappen to Aeris, Cloud, Tifa etc... and God that Final boss was so fun! at first I thought: what's? already finish! bleh was too easy, and after: oh it's not finish! another boss fight, and again, ok was fun but didn't feel like a final boss. and the last fight, now this is the fight I was waiting for XD was really fun, not too hard, not too easy, just a good challenge ^^

now I finish with my journal at 86% and there still some things I have to do. Still didn't get the final form drive and I didn,t fight sephiroth (I have to find where to fight it first >.>)... I'm not really sure of what I need to do now to complete my journal. I think I'll go try proud mode to see the secret ending, I sure hope it's worth it because i'm sure there's some boss that will be extreme to kill! I wonder what was written in the King letter at the en (I hope the secret ending is not just that)

Spoiler:
In my opinions, the ending sucked. = = It was so weak. And Xemnas was so easy to beat that I never really noticed that he's the final boss until I see the credits. But Sora and Riku got to fight together sweetly, and the scenery was pretty. :) And if you're playing the proud mode aiming only at the secret ending, I suggest that you just grab it off the internet, since it's so short that compared to your hours of beating the game.(I just checked, it's a minute and a half long.) Unless you wish to see the story all over again, now that you know what exactly's going on. ;) I do think that going the game over again would be a good idea. I discovered many new things and felt the characters' emotions more when I did.

Actually in a newer interview ( I think its the Ultimania) if time allows, he will consider making one.

Then again, hes probably busy making the big project that he's gonna announce in E3.

Still its not impossible for a KH2 FM.

blisteredhands Apr 4, 2006 11:25 AM

Just finished the game today and..

Spoiler:
The ending was good enough for me. It wasn't spectacular, but I felt that it wrapped up the story that I started playing in the first one. I can't really remember my battle report from the end, except for I had an 89% completion. I'm going to go back and do more, I was just eager to see the ending. Curious as to what the letter from the king said.

Had a questions regarding journal completion:
Spoiler:
When it says to meet Sephiroth again, does this mean you have to beat him? Or is there a way to just talk to him? I found him again in Radiant Garden at the end of that path during the 1000 heartless fight. I initiated battle and died before I could even move. ;_;

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the game, and I'm considering playing it over again to see those little things I missed the first time.

Rayne Apr 4, 2006 02:39 PM

I got the game on Saturday and I'm already at the World that never was.
I did not enjoy this game.
The first Kingdom hearts was perfect. I was new to it and it was magical.
I rushed through this one. There was no Magic at all.
I have to learn to take my time. You're not supposed to beat the game in 4 days.

It just dind't excite me like the first one.

Soldier Apr 4, 2006 03:33 PM

I finally met Cloud.

I think I just crapped myself.

I had no doubts, but hearing Burton in action again really rocked. He does a great job in replicating Cloud's angsty personality, but manages to make him sound different from Squall. His tone is a lot more sad, almost in pain, rather than just "loner for the hell of it" Squall.

And hey, Suvari actually got slightly better. She didn't do too bad acting out Aerith's playful side. She's still not good, but at least she moved up from "piss poor" to "almost tolerable".

I'm not giving out the cutscene away, but let's just say it felt like FFVII being re-enacted for PS2. God, I love this series.

Spoiler:
Hmm, do I detect jealousy from Aerith?

"Wherever he goes, his light will lead him back here."

Let's see if they spell out what most of us are wondering concerning that "light"

Now, on to a few more comments:

The Pirates world had spectacular graphics. They should have hired Square to make that upcoming PS2 game. I also loved how they used the battle theme from the movie.

However, the Pirates world suffers from what I mentioned earlier concerning the Disney Worlds from part 1: It feels like a short, unenlightening summary of the movie. A lot of details were lost for anyone who hasn't seen the movie (like the significance of Jack's pistol). Also, Jack didn't feel quite like the movie Jack. They got his mannerisms down pat, but he still felt a little...coherent.

And the censors were quite noticible, the lamest being when Will threatens to shoot himself (even though he now has his pistol lowered). I'm glad they at least kept Barbosa having himself a drink in order to prove a point. It was a very well done scene, practically exact from the movie.

Good thing there's a second episode, so maybe the story will get better in that world.

Agrabah was more interesting story-wise, as it borrows heavily from Return of Jafar, but not enough that it feels like a quick summary. The cutscenes also did a real good job of making me laugh. I'm also glad they added an actual sky this time. I still have two minor beefs.

Iago still looks retarded.

I can't believe they changed Jasmine's VA. She's been Jasmine forever, why was she unavailable now? It's really noticable too, almost....Suvari-noticable. :(

Blackbord Apr 4, 2006 03:38 PM

I was almost done with The Land of the Dragons World when my save corrupted. :(
