I don't know about Rock Climb, but it seems Defog is totally optional. All it does is well... clear fog. You can still go wherever without having to clear it, you just have really crappy hit rates ='D

Also I figured out what was wrong! It turns out somehow the event got reset, so I had to start it all over again. Oh well, I got to beat up the rival again so it's all good. Right outside the 5th Gym, with super powered Alakazam in hand :3

I met some guy while I was on campus, he was very enthusiastic about my having the game; and wanted me to join the anime club (I didn't even know we had one...) but I declined for now. We did a quick trade because he wanted an Alakazam & Machamp, so we swapped to get Kazam then swapped back (since he wanted his psychic buddy). He seemed pretty cool (although a bit dissatisfied with me picking the girl)

This game is way too addicting. I managed to snag a pearl copy on Sunday without a reservation and yet I was given one of those stylus-things anyway *what.* Oh well, I played it the next day and I almost couldn't stop ;_;

Bah, I can't wait to get access to Park Pals and assemble what's left of my other team.

Not sure if any of you have heard, but they've made catching a Feebas even more difficult. Instead of 6 stationary spaces on Route 119 in Ru/Sa/Em, there are 4 spaces in Mt. Coronet that change every day. :\

You can't. It's tied to your ID number. My little sister's image is of an old lady. Haha that was hilarious. Mine is a geeky-looking green-haired guy >_>

I'm fairly certain your image has to do with what you say to the guy in one of the first few pokemon centers, where he asks what you see yourself as.

Actually, I never tested this but there is a trainer/townsperson (at sandgem town I think) that asks you what kind of trainer you'd like to be. There is also another person near the GTS building that asks for your favorite type. Maybe that has something to do with what your online appearance will be?

I'm glad that EV's and IV's finally have some purpose now. I spent at least 10 hours raising a perfect Zangoose on Sapphire, but then I realized that there was no point. Now annoyers and tanks and whatnot have actual purpose.
