Can't expect much of the quality when they released it rather quickly. I haven't downloaded it and since you say so then I'll just wait for a better release :D

Are the mistakes really bad?

No, I laughed pretty hard too. That episode is great !!!
I'm loving this anime. Anyone knows if this anime will have the usual 26 episodes or if it will be longer ?

chato Dec 20, 2006 02:30 PM

The length is 37 episodes. Read my last post about it.

This week's episode didn't air , huh? Not like it's anything big. There is the final episode of NHK to see then back to DN.

Bodomi Dec 20, 2006 03:29 PM

I just watched the episode 11.
This series just keeps getting more and more awesome! I won't post any spoilers, just watch it!

Not really, its understandable if you have read the manga. They somehow confused between two character in the entire dialogue from the police and Raito's conversation. So it might be weird if you try and re read it too hard. Other than that, its bearable XD

I suggest wait for the official DVD rip or a better quality release ;)

... SO whats the reason for this week's halt?

bahamuty Dec 22, 2006 03:22 AM

I've seen up to #11 and I'm loving it. I'm loving all the drama and mind games. I'll have to check out the manga next time I'm in the book store.

I also thought episode 8's potato chip scene was hilarious.

Nothing really. Maybe they wanted to hold back once. They did air an 11.5 episode though. A recap isn't so bad. Congrats for the first filler episode ! ;p

Yay... Because Everyone love filler

mindOverMatter Dec 24, 2006 10:37 AM

I started this last night. I really like the idea behind it, but I found a few things in episode 4 and 5.
Spoiler:
First, when that FBI agent gets approached by kiyra, and kiyra tells him to do things, or ele people will get killed...the FBI agent should have realized that if he was hearing lights voice, then he wasn't planning to keep him alive. And it's kiyra anyway...he knows that kira would kill who ever he wants anyway. Second:When he was writing down the names, he said "I don't see any harm in names"...but he knows full well that there is a lot of harm in it. Third: how did the FBI agent have internet access under ground? Fourth: why did Light keep the FBI agents wife alive? he should have guessed that she knew SOMETHING... fifth: if the FBI was investigating the Japanese police, they would have found out that Light's dad's computer was not secured. Then they would have fixed it, and started following Light more closely as a suspect. thats it for now

and sorry I didn't put in the tags at first. Thanks for telling me

Vexe Dec 25, 2006 02:00 PM

Mark the spoilers, mind =p

Spoiler:
"the FBI agent should have realized that if he was hearing lights voice, then he wasn't planning to keep him alive. And it's kiyra anyway...he knows that kira would kill who ever he wants anyway"

Light threatened to kill his wife.

"Fourth: why did Light keep the FBI agents wife alive? he should have guessed that she knew SOMETHING..."

Light did not know Misora Naomi's true name, the proof is that he had troubles with her alias.

"fifth: if the FBI was investigating the Japanese police, they would have found out that Light's dad's computer was not secured. Then they would have fixed it, and started following Light more closely as a suspect."

Light is skilled in hacking, he hacked his own father's comp.

Pokey Dec 25, 2006 02:11 PM

Spoiler:
Second:When he was writing down the names, he said "I don't see any harm in names"...but he knows full well that there is a lot of harm in it.

At this point its common belief that Kira needs a name and face to kill. Penbar parhaps didn't think Kira could obtain thier faces since that information is highly secured? Plus, he had no choice but to follow whatever Kira was saying otherwise he thought Naomi would have been killed.

Third: how did the FBI agent have internet access under ground?

I guess since he's an FBI agent, he probably has access to sophisticated technology. But thats too nitpicky of a question, I mean; if you have death gods and books that you can kill people with, anything is possible :P

Spoiler:
One of the DN rules is as follows:

Even if you do not actually possess the DEATH NOTE, the effect will be the same if you can recognize the person and his/her name to place in the blank.

Raye's plan was to put in fake names since he, as previously stated, didn't think that Kira would be able to get access to the faces of his team. However, Raye himself knew the real names and faces of his team, so that's why his team died despite his putting in fake names.

Pokey Dec 25, 2006 11:12 PM

that makes more sense, grey. But thats an odd rule that has quite the loophole..so it doesn't really matter WHAT you write down in the DN, it'll only really go by whatever you're thinking?

The only thing is that you must know the true name of the person you want to kill and their face. So long as you have that person's face in mind when you write down their name--even if it is a fake one--then the Death Note will kill them. It's kinda like the DN senses your intent to kill.

Episode 12 was released today. I must say they have each scene correct and perfect. Only thing that threw my off was the last scene at the end of the episode (plus the song). Shit looked like some soap opera that came out of the WB--err I mean CW O.o??

Pokey Dec 31, 2006 07:30 PM

Well, we need some light scenes. Plus it was quite amusing seeing the scene with Light in badass/psychopath mode suddenly switch over to Misa's cute face.

The anime OST is now out, you can grab it from any nearby torrent. I'm in the process of uploading it onto sendspace now, so watch out for that. This is an excellent OST, by the way--I love how it combines intense choral music with techno beats and solo string peices. :)

EDIT: DEATH NOTE OST - 320 kbps (Zipped & Album Scans included)

chato Dec 31, 2006 08:25 PM

Even though I was expecting serious composers like Taku Iwasaki, Kou Otani, Yoko Kanno or Michiru Ooshima, The person who worked on Ouran HS anime did a real good job on it. Thanks for upload too, p. Nippon release?

Dekoa Jan 4, 2007 03:38 PM

What Fan-subbers do you guys use for DN anime? I'm using Toriyama World. They are a little slow to update, but They do a really good job with Translation and text. I like how they put the Shinigami text in a different format and Color. If you want a link to the website it is Here!

chato Jan 4, 2007 05:34 PM

I stick with Live-Evil's work. Since I get Nana from them, I won't bother with anyone else's since their quality is just as great.

I have fansubs from both TW and Live-Evil, but I've noticed that the latter seems to be a little faster with releases. The quality is also just fine for both.

Just downloaded all the episodes currently out for this and I'm binge watching 'em right now. I gotta say this is one damn awesome series. It gives me this Phoenix Wright vibe since everything is basically one big murder investigation. I love the suspense from watching as well.

Like for episodes 6/7

Spoiler:
I was dying to find out just how Light would get her name in time after he figured out the name he was given was a false one.

I'm on episode 8 right now and hoping this series stays intense like it as so far.

ZOMG! You are SO my best friend for this week!
Thanks a lot!

Episode 13 was released today. Glad to see that it's still going the way it is.

EDIT:

Any word on a good quality of the "The Last Name" yet?

EDIT 2 : The new opening theme song came out. Some dude ripped the track from the vid. Not bad
