Yeah, I stole from Vagrant Soul and got that pole. It was worthless to me, since by then I'd already collected what I needed for the Whale Whisker. Oh, and yeah, Luxollid is an entite variant (Diakon Entite, to be specific). Make sure you steal Staff of the Magi from him, as that's the best staff.

It's at the West Gate and Northon, Cotze, and Rimzat (the Banga who sent you on the mission) should all be there. After a scene you will now be able to enter the Tyrant's nest (what a joke of a fight).

Thanks, okay for the next question, I have this mark, near the place where I got that item (sandstorm rod thing), he's a huge dragon-like monster as far as i can remember. Having that item, would it affect the battle with that mark? Or will it only affect that Tyrant's nest battle? :)

That's probably the Ring Wyrm, a Rank III mark, IIRC. He won't affect the Earth Tyrant thing at all. He will, however, affect the frequency of sandstorms in the Westersand. Kill both the Ring Wyrm and the Earth Tyrant and they become a rarity.

Chip Jan 27, 2007 01:55 AM

Ooh, thats nice. Thanks for the info :)

LilGreekKid Jan 27, 2007 03:39 AM

Metal Sphere---OK thanks. I am going back now to fight him. Quick question though. I read in Pharos or Ridorana on B3 North-West, there is a ribbon in a chest. Do I have to equip the "Diamond Amulet" to get it?

Nope, the chest is completely random, just like the other chests in the Subterra. Of course there's a chance you'll get the item stated, but most of the time you won't. The Diamond Armlet has no beneficial (or negative) effect on these chests, so you might as well put something else on.

Heck, you could get lucky and get a Ribbon on your first try, go to another area of the world map and come back and get another one, or you might never get one at all.

Your safest bet for Ribbons would be the Special Charter Dig over in Henne. The only other ways are irritating to say the least.

Guess why i haven't been here for a while...i've been facing yiazmat ^^.
and...I'VE FINALLY BEAT HIM!!!
WOAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
It took me 5 freaking hours of gameplay, and 2 real days, and maybe 6-7 real hours of game!!!
Can you tell me how the heck you could beat him in less than 3 hours, or link me the 2 hours video?
Now i can make MY "i hate yiazmat" thread rofl.
In the beginning i tought he was boring and long, after half of the life bars he become hard, and when he got to 4 healt bars, he became IMPOSSIBILE!! Lol. I just had to lower one bar, go back to the save crystal, heal and buff, and get back to him..and this was the true longest part lol. He was dam hard, at times i wanted to destroy the tv.
near the very end, the only right strategy i could use was to put 2 to heal only (and raise and esuna), and one with bubble and berserk (she had masamune).
Anyway, it's really a disappointment that hunt bosses don't drop treasurs (like equipment). I remember that in star ocean 2 it was very gratyfing to receive the best equipment after killing iselia queen. And it is about this game that i wanna talk. I can say that ff12 has the second best gameplay, and very best is still star ocean 2 one.
Tomorrow i'll do bahamut dungeon again, and say farewell to this piece of *** lol.

You know you're overleveled when:

I just wrapped up the Girvuvagen dungeon, and took care of all three bosses in a matter of 1 on a half minutes of game play.

The first boss took about 15 seconds
The tyrant took about 15 seconds
The esper took about 45 seconds

And my guys aren't even maxed out, and I don't even have the ultimate weapons. I guess I'm starting to see the real payoffs of the auto levelling. It's pretty obvious when you're guys are like level 88 as compared to some boss sitting only at level 45. At any rate, I got to go pick up Reddas, and so far no new hunts have come along.

Before you head up to the Bahamute, did you beat Omega in Giruvegan? Or the LV99 Red Chocobo in the Ozmone plane? For me to actually beat the game, I need to clear all the hunts and the bosses. Don't know about you though.

But you should try Omega next. Or the LV99 Red Chocobo.
!!!WARNING!!!If you going to fight the LV99 Red Chocobo, hed does 4500 damage to all parties with his magic and is quick. So be prepared.

SCRATCH AND SNIFF-----Those you mention are easy. You don't need to be High Level for that. High LV comes in handy when you fight Yiazmat, Omega, Zodiarc and Hell Wyrm. To me those 4 only.

Lionking-Cyan Jan 27, 2007 02:18 PM

Well, i didn't fight omega nor chocobo.
But i know that i won't ever finish the game 100%, or that it will take all my life. So, i decided i would be satisfied with yiazmat.
But do you say i should really beat omega? How much tougher is it than yazmat? And how many hp does it have?
What about the chocobo? Is it hard to spawn?

LilGreekKid Jan 27, 2007 05:13 PM

BOSS : Omega Mk.XII
HP : around 12,000,000
Found: Gate Crystal in Gruvagen.

OMEGA XII Review "Before plan to face this boss, you must clear all Mob Hunt mission and collect
all Esper. Then go to Crystal Grande upper layer, please reference to this map,

Since you've went through this map on the road to Ultima Esper fight, you
should unseal some of the gate in Map 3. If you've left the Crystal Grande, all
'1st' gate will be sealed, so you need to unseal the gates if required.

Now you need to unseal Gate Taurus 1st to reach the arena. Just get back to
the Save Crystal at Map 4 through the teleport XX...

- Push the swtich for Gate Aquarius.
- Return to Map 3 through the teleport XVIII
- Unseal the Gate Aquarius 1st (base on how you unseal the gate when you're
going to Ultima Esper fight, just make sure to unseal Gate Virgo and Libra
2nd.)
- Now push the switch for Gate Capricorn, then unseal Gate Capricorn 2nd.
- Back to switch for Gate Taurus and push it, rush to Gate Taurus 1st and
unseal it.
- Take XXI to the arena.

Omega Mk.XII's attack style is nothing special, the difficulty is the damage
amount of Omega, each hit might kill one of your characters, with its higher
speed, this boss can kill your team within a minute. Recommend cast Reverse
and Decoy on one character for the entire battle, so Omega will keep 'healing'
one of your character for the entire battle.

Reverse is to turn over the damage and healing amount, Decoy is provoke enemy
focus to attack one target, so if the character has both these spells' effect,
Omega will only attack this character, same time its damage will heal that
character. Make sure set two other characters' Gambit to keep recasting Reverse
and Decoy when they're gone, also keep Haste on the two other character for the
faster time to done casting spells, more easier, equip Hermes Sandals for the
character who's position to cast Reverse or Decoy. Another thing is avoid to
use any elemant attack on this boss. When Omega's HP leave around 20%, its
defence and attack power will raise up, but if you can keep with the tactic
above, it doesn't become a problem
.
"

By the way LV99 Red Chocobo is very difficult ro spawn try 1/256 chances in the Ozmone Plane. You got to kill over 5 Red and 5 Blacks Chocobo in Chains. You got to keep on coming back and forth, entering and rentering till it appears. If you look a few pages back you will see a picture of him.

Lazlow Jan 27, 2007 06:01 PM

I'm still lvling up my characters and the weapons they are:

Vaan: Defender

Basch: Save the Queen

Ashe: Zodiac Spear

And I'm Literally kicking the monster's butts in the Ancient City of Girvuvagen
and the lvl of my characters are

Vaan: lvl 59

Bash: 54

Ashe: 59
and the rest.....weak

Omega doesn't have 12 million HP, it's actually far lower than Hell Wyrm's. He has something between 1 million and 3 million, as he only has one bar and you take considerable chunks out of it, compared to Yiazmat or Hell Wyrm.

Lazlow, at those levels, you'll be able to finish the main story easily.

Lazlow Jan 27, 2007 06:46 PM

i know, i know. i just wanna lvl up my charaters....ok i'm gonna finish Girvuvagen, but i am in the great crystal and at the scorpio gate switch and i can't ativat it. i need help plz

LilGreekKid Jan 27, 2007 11:28 PM

Hey Metal Sphere, that is what the site says. But hey, you could be right.

LAZLOW, I think there is a switch that takes off the shield and you have a certain amount of time to get back and go through it.

Unfortunately, the site and guide are wrong. By now it should be common knowledge that the US Omega was nerfed from the JAP version. The latter had 10 million HP, ours has less than half that.

If he was packing 10 million HP, it sure went fast with something that has the highest defense rating in the game for a monster (he's level 99). Not to mention, he didn't have the little mini-bars, so that puts him well below Hell Wyrm at least.

LilGreekKid Jan 28, 2007 02:39 AM

ohh no doubt.....by the way

METAL SPHERE, I went to the 2nd floor B2F, and didn't find the Loxillid. I went through each room twice. The only thing I found was a room where 2 Dragon Liche are on 1 side of that room.

You have to kill Vagrant Soul, then head to B2F without leaving the Subterra. Enter the southwest entrance, and find the large room there. He should be there.

Lazlow Jan 28, 2007 05:42 AM

AAAAAAHHHHHHHH, I'm in Pharos/third Ascents and I'm getting EXTREMIELY ANNOYED. I chosen correct black waystone, killed monsters, Chosen green way stone, then chosen green waystone again, took me to a room off map then the fucking undead pops up killed them, after they killed two of my guys, retreated, revived them , went back killed them, magick wore off the door...same cycle

Lionking-Cyan Jan 28, 2007 05:51 AM

About the yiazmat in 2 hours, i see that i didn't have yagu darkblade, so maybe that's the main reason.
About omega instead, is it really worth the effort to do the whole dungeon in orther to meet him? Is the challenge really good, that i should kill him even if i killed yiazmat?
About reverse and decoy, i didn't understand very well how to use it. So i'll tell you i think it works, and correct me if i'm wrong.
I'd put hermes sandals on 2 characters, and genji gloves on tank. I'd put those 2 with reverse and decoy gambit (target the tank). And i'd not put reverse and decoy gambit on tank, but just attack.
Should it work like this?

Lazlow Jan 28, 2007 08:33 AM

damn it damn it DAMN IT!!! I can't get through the third ascent I am literally HITTING myself on the leg, and biting myselt over my extreme frusrution and I was up ALL night trying to get through:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: and sorry for swearing but I can't get through and i think this game is cheating me

You mean the one with the Sigils? The order is:
  • Black Sigil
  • Hidden Green Sigil (behind Fool's facades)
  • Red Sigil
  • Variable Sigil color (depends on the color you chose as you were ascending the tower, for example the light purple is if you sacrificed your mini-map)
  • Hidden Mirror-like/Reflective Sigil

IIRC, that's the ascending order, without errors so you don't end up back on the 79th floor.

BTW, Omega is simply for a challenge and for those who want the Wyrmhero Blade. He's actually pretty easy, and as long as you can maintain Reverse/Decoy going or have a nice Curaja net, you're good.

Saga Jan 28, 2007 08:48 AM

another tip :

rare monsters dropping trophies will NOT appear unless you talk to the masterhunt and the tree bangas in phon coast first. ( just for the people who keeps pm me U_U )
