The games looked fine, its just the price tag has been burned into my eyes.

Ditto. Suddenly PS3's bringing back flashbacks of when Saturn first hit the market...

I agree. Most people will go for the system with the best graphics. Graphics sell games.

I stress this.

Stealth May 8, 2006 09:05 PM

I'm sure you'll have an option not to use motion sensing shit. I do agree, it certainly seems tacked on to one-up Nintendo. But that's a moot point anyhow.

The Wario Ware Twisted motion sensing capabilities on GBA are more advanced than this, this is funny shit.

SIX DEGREES OF MOVEMENT

I just hope people will be able to see through it. Because if they don't, it'll derail what can be an amazing new implication on gaming that Nintendo's cooking up...

El Ray Fernando May 8, 2006 09:05 PM

Just remember at the end of the day you can use your PSP as a wing mirror, thanks Sony you have finally realised its true potential.

KnowsNothing May 8, 2006 09:05 PM

So guys, what about the PSP-PS3 connectivity? Exciting stuff, huh?

The only thing remotley impressive was the card battling game, and that's only from a technological standpoint. It's pretty gimmicky.

Well. Onto afterthoughts.

Pretty much what I expected.

High-end PC graphics (and a bit better generally speaking).
Check.

Same gameplay stuff (not boring, just not "wow").
Check.

Gimmicky stuff (Eyetoy specifically, also PSP "rearview mirror", and in-game store to rape my VISA card).
Check.

Support from all the big money-makers/franchises (EA, SqEnix, Kojima, etc.)
Check.

VERY high price ($500 minimum).
Check.

Surprises? Obviously the tilt controller gimmick/ripoff/tacked-on/half-assed thing.

Does that sum it up?!

SIX DEGREES OF MOVEMENT

Umm, doesn't "Six degrees of movement" mean "up, down, left, right, forward, back"?

Why are you complaining about an added feature like the motion sensor? You didn't have it before. So the Wii has something better, that doesn't mean that Sony's thing is useless.

The only thing it can serve for is mess up what Wii has going for it by fooling the general public into going for the PS3, and thus, killing off Wii's attempt which seems infenantly better.

Sega isn't even trying anymore. The franchise is just fucking doomed.

MGS4 trailer was the best part, why lie.

I'm still not too sure abuot the specifics to be honest. From the demonstration though it looked like what I described before.

BTW what games are going to be out at launch?

Woop dee doo. I'm pretty sure people will buy the PS3 for the games and the graphics. I really doubt that most will care about this new feature.

You guys really do bitch too much. It's a fucking videogame system. Why are you taking this shit so seriously? So, you think that the Wii has a better controller, wonderful. No need to whine and moan about the PS3.

The only reason they were vague about it is because it's probebly super limited as you suspected.

I don't think you understand what I'm getting at. Sony's crappy controler can ruin what Wii's trying to do. Thus deny us a brand new gaming experience.

Yeah, except I don't think it includes forward/back, so it'll be tilt left/right instead.

It's not 6 degrees out of 360, guys.

I dunno. PlayStation 2 absolutely crushed both the Xbox and GameCube this/last/whatever generation, despite being the weakest out of the three. PlayStation outsold Nintendo 64. DS is outselling PSP.

Graphics = Shrugging of shoulders.

PS3 will sell well because of

- PlayStation logo
- Madden
- Square-Enix
- Insert other reasons here that I can't predict because it's not due out until November but I'm guessing it'll sell well even though it's six hundred dollars or about eight thousand dollars Australian and also I wonder what will be on the demo disc, hopefully a video of someone falling over that'd be excellent time for lunch!

El Ray Fernando May 8, 2006 09:16 PM

If it will be £600 juding by the euro price I could probably pick up a 360 core package and the Wii when it comes out.

British players get raped especially hard due to how weak the dollar is, they usually addon like £200.

Newbie1234 May 8, 2006 09:16 PM

Aside from it being a blatant steal from Nintendo, I have no problems with it. They added the Xbox 360 guide button too, so they stole from both sides, yet the Xbox controller's design originally stole from the Playstation one. Who cares, at the end of the day, I'll probably pick one up anyway.

I just with the price weren't so damn high. Also, the only games that really impressed me was MGS4 & Final Fantasy XIII, and I doubt either will be out on launch. I didn't see any Killzone trailer, so that was disappointing.

The only people it will deny that experience are the closed-minded fucks who don't know any better.
