I already let you pick up adjacent tables, so picking up adjacent table parts is fine.

Bradylama Jul 23, 2008 04:59 AM

Also, what if I tore the limb off of an undead like a zombie. Even if the hit die is still 1d4 could that be considered to have necrotic effects?

This is just for curiosity's sake.

Swing the elf lady. I bet she does sweet damage.

NECROTIC DAMAGE DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY

(also, there's literally fucking nothing in the Monster Manual that's especially vulnerable to Necrotic, so)

What if he hit an enemy with ginormous brain of Morbo?

The unmovable stubborn Jul 23, 2008 06:08 AM

That would be psychic damage obviously

I cannot even fathom how I managed to deal 27 damage...I mean, other than the fact that I am just so awesome!

And Deni, maybe you should've swung at (and probably killed) the drake, seeing as I put myself in harms way JUST so you could have a decent chance at hitting something for once!

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Jul 23, 2008 10:25 AM

Gabrial is utilising Gandhi's techniques of fighting without fighting only his is more like swinging without hitting. It's like a kind of violent, non-violent, passive resistance.

Also, what is it you people have against funnelling enemies and fighting them one at a time? Have you not seen 300 or something?

[2W] + Sneak Attack + Backstabber feat + Brutal Scoundrel bonuses = rape city

Bradylama Jul 23, 2008 12:21 PM

Last question (swear to God) will picking up that table leg be considered a minor action?

The unmovable stubborn Jul 23, 2008 12:22 PM

YES

Zephyrin Jul 23, 2008 01:12 PM

Oh, snap, son. I forgot my character loves teh anus.

The unmovable stubborn Jul 23, 2008 01:14 PM

Rogues do it from behind, dawg

And now your character is dying; what can you do about it? Let's find out, in another edition of RULES CORNER.

If a character is reduced to 0 or less hit points, they become unconscious. Now, that in itself is no reason to panic! An unconsciousness character won't necessarily die.

First, any other character can heal you. If you're healed to 1 HP or higher, you're conscious again! But remember that you'll wake up prone, so you'll need to take a Move action to stand up.

But let's say that nobody wants to heal you, because you have an ugly habit of abandoning the party during fights.

Every round, an unconscious character makes a saving throw (d20 roll) to see if he gets closer to death. 50% of the time, he will! If a character gets this result on his saving throw three times before the end of the battle, he dies. 45% of the time, he remains stable. 5% of the time, a miraculous recovery occurs. This restores you to 0 hit points, then allows you to spend a healing surge and regain consciousness.

If an unconscious character's HP is reduced to a negative expression of his bloodied value, he dies right then and there. (If you have 30 HP, you're bloodied at 15 HP and dead at -15 HP.)

Unconscious characters (and unconscious or otherwise helpless enemies) are subject to a coup de grace attack, which guarantees a critical hit.

You're only at -4 so Gabriel will probably save you in time but hey, just in case it comes up later

Bradylama Jul 23, 2008 02:25 PM

Also it was a good thing you did, Zeph. I didn't want to make a note of this because I read the Monster Manual and I thought informing you all would be kinda gay, but Guard Drakes get huge bonuses when they're around allies. Guard Drake's bite gets 1d10 + 9 damage while within 2 squares of an ally.

Additional Spam:
Can I get some stats for my sweet new table leg? I want to put it in my character sheet. =)

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Jul 23, 2008 04:46 PM

Hi!

If an attack has splash damage (Like an acid arrow for example), is that just immediately adjacent squares or diagonals too? Also, how likely would the splashback be to hit a prone and rather unconcious ally?

Animechanic Jul 23, 2008 04:53 PM

In order: diagonals too, and extremely.

DO IT

FatsDomino Jul 23, 2008 05:45 PM

He's a rogue. He can just dodge it. :)

No. Hard Pass. Jul 23, 2008 05:56 PM

Also, I didn't kill the Drake because I knew Argumentus was up next and he would. Figured I'd leave him the enemy he could reach with the stick he wanted to pick up, and I'd try and brain the elf that cut me.

It... It didn't work out so well.

Bradylama Jul 23, 2008 06:26 PM

Don't use Dailies on enemies with high saving throws is what I've learned.

No. Hard Pass. Jul 23, 2008 06:28 PM

Well I didn't know he had a high saving throw, did I? >8(

Bradylama Jul 23, 2008 06:30 PM

Elves are nimble? You don't say.

No. Hard Pass. Jul 23, 2008 06:31 PM

Well, yeah. Okay, so maybe I'm an idiot. Still helped keep you alive. >8(

Bradylama Jul 23, 2008 06:35 PM

Yep. Also I got pretty much the bare minimum damage to kill that drake so we got lucky.

No. Hard Pass. Jul 23, 2008 06:44 PM

We got -awesome-. Don't underestimate us.

Also, you watch, this round, even with total defense, I'm gonna get the shit kicked out of me. All to save some dipshit rogue who runs and hides 80% of the time.

God I hate having to stay in character.

"What? Save Zeph? Nah, that guy's a fucktard. Let him hang."
