Good lord I don't want it realistic. Actually, maybe lessen the overshield affect a bit, but not actually realistic. It's just a simple mechanic that adds a bit more depth to gameplay.

Overshield + shield grenade + new terrain not good enough? Also, that's where the strategy would come in. With a pistol you'd be faster than usual but near defenseless, and with a rocket launcher you'd be bogged down but really powerful. idk maybe I expect too much from Halo.

No kidding he can't dodge, that's what his overshield is for. Either way, just a suggestion I found to be personally interesting. If you don't want to be bogged down in the middle of nowhere, toss away the spartan laser and pull out your assault rifle. Or use team work to run to somewhere safe and start blasting away the other team. I mean, really only the sniper rifle and rocket launcher/spartan laser would really weigh you down anyways *shrugs*

All these suggestions would work fine in a game that wasn't Halo. To make these changes would reinvent a game that people are hoping is, for the most part, exactly the same as the last game. If its not broke dont fuck with it mentality going on here.

And like Devo said, you cant dodge in Halo. In multiplayer it comes down to either getting the jump on someone, or out shooting them. So tweaking it to allow for better manueverability (sp?) wouldnt help too much.

And also, he still got that weapon on him... why should he be faster because he put it on his back :(

True. But... I have the feeling Halo 3 might be more different than people suspect. I'm probably utterly wrong, but just the feeling I'm getting.

Either way, I don't think adding the Counter-strike Gravity logics to the game will make it better.... For the love of god, look to what happened to CS, next you'll tell me that he should slow down to a crawl after he jumps.

Realling, the squatting does nothing at all. I use squat more in CS then I have ever used in Halo.

The truth is that HALO 3 is just HALO 2, but upscaled to 1080p, with maybe 2 new weapons. Same horrible gameplay, stupid ball pit physics, brain-dead story, and characters jumping off buildings with no damage.

I like how Bungie basically admits that HALO 2 was the joke of the century in their new documentary.

Also, anyone asking for realism in Halo: Uh, have you ever played through Single player? The game makes no sense anyway, why should the game play?

I know, what is the deal w/ people saying "Falling and taking no damage?" Big deal, it's a video game, just enjoy it. If you wanted to hurt when you fall then go ahead and jump off a building.

This fall damage thing. I've no opinion pro or contra, but I like why it was implemented. That's class.

I don't think I'm shallow enough to spend £40 on crackdown (which looks awful) for the pleasure of playing Halo 3. The chances of getting a spot on the beta via the additional 2 methods involves a lot of luck.

The best chance it seems if for me is to purchase Crackdown then return it but finding a place that takes back games once they are opened are ever so difficult. I'd rather pay £10 for the beta on its own.

Talk to your buddy at Office Depot (everyone has one whether you know it or not) and have him shrink wrap it at the UPS center in store. Take said shrink wrapped game back to Wal-Mart. Since you dont have a receipt they will give you store credit, but atleast you can get another game you like instead of keeping said game.

So im also thinking this footage released by Bungie themselves, not too much is given away but enough to create interest and get the hype ball rolling once again...another case of viral marketing

Here's an easier trick.

Buy it from EB or some store that takes back unopened stuff. Open it, take the beta sheet out. Take the open thing to Walmart, say you bought it there but lost the receipt, get an exchange for a new sealed one. Take the sealed one back to the store of purchase.

Doesn't involve any purchase of any game at that point. Not that your method won't work or nothin' but yeah.
