I saw a clip of someone taking on Omegea without using the decoy method and it didn't seem to be all that bad. Towards the end it seemed to be a little more difficult due to increased speed, but that happens with many bosses. maybe That will have to be my goal for this evening.

Correct me if I am wrong but while I watched the sequence I didn't see Omega do anything other then use physical attacks?

Who is harder though, Yiazmat or Omega? Because after I eliminated like half of his health bars, Ninja weapons weren't doing as much damage as they used to even though he didn't do Growing Threat. So far, Cyclone isn't anything to worry about but we'll see :) And can he get all of his power back if you flee the battle while he has on Regen?

(I will have to by a new video camera for the hunt because this Phillips FunCam can only record up to 30 sec. of video which is not enough to show hardly anything. I don't know, would you care if I did pictures instead or no?)

SunGod Jan 18, 2007 07:01 PM

Yuyu_Zeta: Cyclone becomes a problem at the last part of the battle (last 5 bars or so), best to buy and equip Windbreakers from Rabanstre. (50% wind damage)

  • Spams White Breath, with increasing effectiveness (hello there Stop)
  • Uses Growing Threat to double his level from 73 to ~146, bring his damage after Protectga to around the 3k range. Never saw what he did without it up, nor would I want to.
  • His speed magically increases over time
  • His physical attacks become increasingly effective in inflicting death (it starts out very low at first)
  • His physical attacks are almost guaranteed to OHKO you by said point, especially at the speed at which he attacks.
  • He begins using Death Strike (OHKO attack) to interrupt your healing and later begins spamming it.
  • If he fails to OHKO with his physical attack, he will strike (~3k per hit) as many times as it takes until you either get killed instantly or the target character dies.
  • Cyclone, a previously weaksauce attack actually becomes something to be wary of.

OK so he's ULTRA-RIGGED! Yeah, great! This'll be lotz of funz. I'll begin LOLing when my characters die right when they enter the Coliseum after he gets down to 50%. Pfffft.

So whos actually worse to fight against? Yiazmat here, or perhaps the Diamond Weapon from FF7? Or if there's been a tougher opponent than these guys mentioned, from like FF8 or 9, list em.

Nemesis in FFX. Almost impossible to beat without high agility and Quick Hit. (or Penance...) I think Penance is harder :)

Yea I think I would have to go with Penance here as well. With that fight it was nearly essential to have everyones sphere grid completley customized to have the high speed/strength/and agility. I can't completley compare at this point since I have yet to face Yizmat but I can't see him being as much of a pain in the ass.

With regards to Diamond Weapon I didn't think it was too too tough aside from a time factor once again. Once you had your set routine with him it was actually not all that bad. Although it did take some time to get all the Materia and such prepared for the fight. God I miss XII.

Alright I've power leveled my guys to level 83 on the dot. I'm ready for Gilgmesh, what should I equip? =O

83 huh? You got up there pretty quick! When I fought him I was in the high 60's and just had on bubble belts and that turned out just fine. You shouldn't have a problem with him at all, remember to take out his little dog first. Einkendu I believe it's called.

At level 83 I don't think there should be anything you should be worried about since his lvl 2, 3 and 4 attacks shouldn't affect you at all. I brought my party of about level 60-70 and I whooped him up fairly quickly (with occasional Reverse+decoy). My only regret is that I forgot to steal the Genji glove and shield from him and I couldn't restart since I overwrote the save file :(

Just defeated Pylraster and Ixion, had some difficulties beating both with party levels around 60+..I had to restart 3 times for Pylraster because he would kill off 1 character with Rage like a sec before someone starts the quickening.

You were been ready 20 levels ago because that's when I beat him, around level 60-65. :) I don't think any other hunt should be a problem for you now except the last one. How about getting Bubble Belts

Spatula Jan 19, 2007 12:09 PM

I have 2 sets of Bubble Belts, and will hope to get a Ribbon soon enough. Also, my game play clock jumped from 106 hours to 156 by pure auto leveling in the Stillshrine. Yeah, that was pretty nice. =O

Why are you using Quickenings that late in the game? Those things are unreliable, plus they empty out your MP gauge. Bad idea during some of these hunts.

Last time I used one seriously was over in Raithwall's Tomb on the optional Demon Wall. Besides that, I just used them to get Gabranth in the den.

I'm not gonna lie, I used Quickenings against Pylraster to kill him but only when he was about to die. He deals waay too much damage even when my party has Protect and when I revive a character, he instantly kills them by doing attacks that range from about 6000-7000 damage.

I found another place to make TONS of money and I MEAN TONS

forget golmore jungle and those silly panters what you really need is SERIOUS money + level + LP

today I reached Phon coast so I decided NOt to go straight to Arcadia yet cos I know that in arcadia and in Balfolheim port you can get really good equipement but not very cheap ones SO I decided to do some serious walking to Feywood just to do some fun leveling...anyway I got to Feywood - right to the south where the Save crystal is - I saved there and then I started killing those big chunky birds that ALWAYS do reflect so I started killing them and I managed to chain 19 doing those big birds ( cant remember the name sorry ) so I noticed that they give you 960 of exp 1 lp + they droop mirror armor or something like that + they drop white crystal or something ANd also they drop an item that cost 1200 :O so I tried to go back just before going to the save crystal is and back in again in the area where this big birds were and GUESS WHAT! they keep appearing!!1 so I chain 800 of this animals + I gOT MASSIVE amount of money !!! and I did use double LP so I got ALOT of money!!! LOL and im in level 64 .

if you dont quite understand I will film it if I can but THEY MONEY is THERE! :D

just to let you know

Do you mean Emerald Weapon? Because Diamond was a piece of piss. He was the one attacking Midgar. Emerald is the underwater one. You must mean him.

I think all the 'ultimates' in the series are easily doable as long as you have a high level and the right abilities (and a smidge of luck don't hurt). Although I will agree about Penance to an extent.

I'm glad there's some real bastards for bosses in this game. About bloody time.

LilGreekKid Jan 20, 2007 12:28 AM

Hey, I know on the second level (B2) at "Pharos of Ridorana," when you are attempting to get to Seers, there is supposed to be an "Ultima Blade" somewhere. Does anybody know which part of the room its in?

There was 1 room in the south-west where their was only 2 dragon in it and a chest in the middle. I am not sure if that chest had the "Ultima Blade" in it. I read that you need to equip the "Diamond Armulet." I forgot to do that and opened it and got 1gil :(. Does anyone know if that is the chest with the "Ultima Blade" in it? If So, is there anyway to make it respawn again?

Drex Jan 20, 2007 12:41 AM

There's a Fool's Facade somewhere in there with a room that has a chest against a wall (in a corner?) which is where I picked up my Ultima blade. I wasn't observant enough to see where it was on the map, though. =/

LilGreekKid Jan 20, 2007 01:07 AM

The problem is all the chest I opened without equiping the "Diamond Armulet." If I leave Pharos and return, will the chest respawn?

I'm not 100% sure about it, but me thinks that it does respawn. When I was down there I got it on my second time around while collecting more black orbs. So it is possible but once again I am not totally sure. While down there though, if they do indeed respawn, make sure you search out and get one of the few Ribbons of the game. They are arguably the best accessory you can get.

Spatula Jan 20, 2007 05:00 AM

Finally got around to beating Gilgamesh in the cave. His attacks really weren't anything to be afraid of, but I didn't like the Enkidu pet. >=U.
I managed to get all four goods, so that's a wrap for that hunt, and it's not 3:00 am, yawn.

Saga Jan 20, 2007 06:13 AM

Lionking-Cyan Jan 20, 2007 11:48 AM

I'm having a lot of troubles in finding many hunts. Is there a better way to understand where they are, and HOW they spawn, even without using a guide? I used trowabartan's guide, but some times even it is not clear, as for the hunt that is right in Zertinan Caverns entrance (from westerlands).
Do you know a good guide that also tells you HOW to make them spawn? For example, i even had problems making spawn deathscyte and the hunt in deadlands (the one that should be where the grass is tall and where's fog).
And how do i get to fight with gilgamesh, and wich is the hunt that gives you the masamune?

Just got the "Ultima Blade." Thanks. Anybody know how to get the "King Behemoth" to come out? I know he is by the Giruvegen Gate.

in order to get it you must complete mob hunt Fafnir first. to make it appear just kill all enemies from the last area where the big gate is- then exit that area and go back h should be waiting for you
