Sure does work. Like you said, they are the same genus, therefore are related to Tower.

1st) There are 2 Clay Golems near some shrine in Rays of Ashen Light (you might want to solo this with a person with Float and 1 Gysahl Green). Kill them and do NOT pick up their loot.

2nd.)This is important: (Zone from Rays of Ashen Light to Trail of Sky-flung Stone to Northern Skirts and back to where the golems are; Rays of Ashen Light area. Do NOT go back to campsite, Babbling Vale. If you do, I think the chain will break but I'm not sure.)

If you can't go from Rays of Ashen Light to Trail of Sky-flung Stone it's probably because a rock is blocking the path. To make the path appear, knock down the rock to the south of the Northern Skirts zone entrance

3rd.) Once you have your chain at max., ride the chocobo at Rays of Ashen Light all the way through Salikawood to Phon Coast, Kaukula Pass to board the Strahl to Ridorana Cataract. (Do NOTuse Teleport stone to Pharos)

4th.) FLEE all the way to Pharos and then find Tower without killing anything but Tower. By then, you'll have reached Tower with a chain level at Max.

Still very time consuming method.

Today i stopped autoleveling, and went to necrol of nabudis. I really used to believe it was the Stilshrine of Miriam, dunno why ^^. I got the spear, the dark dunno what from the other chests (with diamond armlet), and 3 maximiliams. Do maximiliams hat exist? If not, what shoul my party wear as hat?
And how do i open those doors, especially the one for the shop?
My guide also says that i can find hastega in shout bank village, i went there, but the shop only sold weapons (only the gold axe), and accessories (i bought there the diamond armlet). So, how am i supposed to get hastega?
Is there any good guide for sidequests too? Shotgunnova's one sidequest is really good.

I'm so sorry if I've said that. What I mean is once you've gotten Larva Eater to spawn and killed it at Waystone XIV, you zone two spaces back (definetely not three sorry) all the way to Leo Gate I in order to reset the spawn. After that, you go back to Waystone XIV area and keep zoning from that area to Leo Gate Switch area.

I wasn't intending to gain a chain on Larva Eater so I killed every Reaper that spawned in Waystone XIV when Larva Eater was there. If the Reapers come out anyway, just get them to HP Critical status and wait for them to do Dimensional Rift although preserving the chain by doing so is really time consuming.

Well I wouldn't say that I would be playing just to get the Z. Spear. A lot of my friends are just starting to play now and asking me for advice and such and telling me where they are in the game now. Hearing all of this makes me miss some of the story line that took place earlier in the game so I think maybe a replay will be in order. I still have a lot to do with this current game though so that won't be happening for some time now.

Hey guys, about opening the path from the Feywood into Henne Mines: do you have to open the gate from inside the mines (travel from the Henne Mines gate crystal) or open it from the Feywood side? I have beaten Zodiark.

Yeah, you have to open it from within the mine (the Pithead Junction C map with the horde of Abysteel. After you do that, you can't simply go directly south, you have to do a little rounadabout route, but it lets you exit via the Feywood once you do this.

Good to hear, as I'm trying for it myself. After I get the Yagyu and some armor. I paused the game while chaining the Helvineks.

Not very long, the most time consuming parts are either the running around to get to each area or creating the conditions needed for the monster to spawn.

Ah, I see now. The game itself really isn't long at all, as you can zip through it with relative ease. You'd be back to where you were in no time, might even set a record for completion under a certain amount of time.

Just beat the esper from the Pharos subterra (don't know the name) and was like "damn I just spent my last two megalixirs", just to find out that part of my reward was two megalixirs. So I guess I am even again ;)

did you know that you can get the zodiac spear in henne mines but you have to "live" there in order to make it apear.... I tried it but I got REALLY bored mind you I was WAY ahead in the game level wise lol . im playing the english ver cos I missing sagitaria and this spear I wanna complete it 100% if I can :D

*groans* I got this mark where I got to find these two brats in the Lushus Mines and the monsters further down are tough but I manage killed them.....still I'm lvling up my weaker party : Ashe , Balthier and Penelo by killing Silicon Turtlles during the Rains and I finally got the Nihopalaoa item....

He should really post that video, along with whatever commentary goes with it (like how long it took him). Surely it's easier than getting the fucking Danjuro, which seems to either drop whenever the hell it wants, with no rhyme or reason to it.

What the... aside from a general listing of all the chest locations in Henne, this isn't much use to anyone.

I read it, but haven't tried it. Looked online for more and found out that it's essentially Karchy's method from Gamespot. The problem is, the results vary far too much. Some people get it on the 4th's LE, some don't get it at all even after chaining 80 LEs.

Took care of Exodus like what. Also reached the 100 hour mark. I think I'm going to do some fishing now, since there's not much else to work on. Hunts are done, except Gilgamesh, and I haven't joined the hunt club yet. I might want to take on the Earth Tyrant, but I'll have to fight and steal from the elementals in the Westersand first.

Any idea why http://www.chopman.com/maniatrix/ff12/image/hene.jpg only shows some of the treasure chests? I notice three of them have additional writing, one of which is the treasure obtained by reading the notes left by a miner.

I can only hope that there is a surefire way to obtaining the Zodiac Spear from the Mines. I don't feel like running to the treasure chest spawn site 1000 times.

In the Jap version and USA version, I hear that there is a hand weapon that have 255 strengths. Is it right or only a false rumors.

As nice as that would be the stongest weapon in the game is infact the Zodiac Spear. If it did exist there isn't a spot for it on the liscense board which would effectively render that weapon useless other then admiring the fact you had it.

While I agree that this is likely a baseless rumor, the Wyrmhero Blade isn't on the license board either. But if we go by the only thing that isn't on there, this mythical weapon will likely be a piece of crap.

Holy shit that completley slipped my mind. I remember noticing that when I was just randomly completing everyones boards awhile back and I didn't remember seeing it but forgot to bring it up. I wonder why they didn't put it on the board since it seems to be one of the toughest weapons to acquire, just becuase of the length and overall difficulty of the two fights.

Metal, didn't you say awhile back you found a way to negate the speed or something from the Wyrmhero? Maybe I am mistaken and you just said you were testing something out.

Well, if you were able to defeat Omega and Yiazmat, the assumption is that you probably have access to most (if not all) the licenses in the game. IMO, they should've made a uber-weapon for each type, and rendered the current ultimates as semi-rares. That way they could put more optional challenge bosses in, maybe add like 10-20 hours more of dialogue for this sidequest/extra stuff and really make the game shine.

Though I can see why you'd be surprised at it's absence on the board. Imagine if you still had a level 5 character with the blade, since there's essentially no restriction on who can use it.

Yeah, normally the Wyrmhero Blade is abysmally slow. However, if you Haste+Berserk the person who has it equipped, it gets considerably faster. In fact, it becomes viable for combat at that point because:

• The equipped character automatically gains Faith+Bravery
• The equipped character gains 50 evasion, similar to equipping a Zodiac Escutcheon.
• Haste throws on a layer of speed to negate the crippling speed
• Berserk's power boost + the nearly doubled action speed improves it further
• It combos very often. It's rarer to see single strikes from it than multiples

I wish I had the Genji Gloves, but it's more than likely that this thing would combo ridiculously. With Berserk+Bravery on, even enemies with layers of defense would still eat 9,999. You should see how it reacts when an enemy tries to parry (Baknamy, Elvorets, various Skeletons) , it simply keeps swinging until it kills them. If I'm not mistaken, Berserk also increases the likelihood of combos, though I'd have to find out for sure.

yes - I manage to get the chest where the spear is supossed to be but I got 6000 money thing and according to the faqs I need to spend more time to get it in the 3rd turn. it is indeed a pain in the ass...
