How does Master Hand hinder the presentation? Do you not remember the first one where the game was essentially people fighting each other with Nintendo character dolls? Master Hand was the person pulling the strings, so to speak.
|
I'd like to see the Prince from Katamiri make an entrance in this game, purely so that one of the stages sees players fighting on/alongside a katamiri that grows bigger until you have to stand on it running to stay alive, Big Blue style.
My other level I would like to see it a Tetris one. Players fight at the bottom of the screen, dodging the blocks as they fall. Since there are walls on either side players have to sustain massive damage before they can be smash upwards out of the stage. |
Well, I did state that my personal preference was that Smash would take itself a bit more seriously, if at least for the new, more casual players. A big, giant hand, I think, just doesn't fit into that whole equation.
I mean, it's a big hand, and it looks like mario's glove. Who here wouldn't say that the first Smash wasn't cartoony? Pity, you didn't see post #290 on page 12, HazelGuy. |
I dunno, I love the quirkiness of the game. I mean, it's not like it's a serious fighting game. It's a crazy party-game! The hand's just fine by me. Maybe they should include the head-prof. from Brain Age too!

Regarding Master Hand. Grubdog said it best in MSN chat where he though it should be revelaed that the hands belong to none other than Dr Kawashima.

No thanks. Why should the game take it seriously? It's a slew of characters, most from totally unrelated games (aside from being made by the same company, and not even that anymore), them fighting together is complete nonsense in and of itself. The humor and charm of the game is part of the reason I like it so much. Fortunately, I can rest assured that it won't change. Based on the trailer alone, we know it'll have at least as much, if not even more, Nintendo humor in it. |
I didn't say eliminate the quirkiness.

We wouldn't yell third party. We'd yell stop recommending non-videogame characters. But since you aren't serious I guess it's okay.

Anyone find the lyrics for the theme song yet?
|
You want lyrics? Here's some lyrics.
NAAAAAAAA NANANANANA NA NA KATAMARI DAMA--*horrendous car crash* |
Exactly, choir songs like that (see: John Williams bullshit) never have lyrics, just totally random syllables.
Now where has everyone been getting the "Hideo begged Nintendo for including Snake" story from? |
EDIT: Dunno where the hell that came from.
|
Every piece Uematsu has done with a choir has had latin lyrics(as far as I know):
http://www.animelyrics.com/game/ffvii/ff7owa.htm http://www.animelyrics.com/game/ff8/ff8lf.htm Which usually had something to do with the game. Common now dont be shy. =D |
PsychoJosh is quite the quagmire of useful information.
Also this quote is from the Smash Bros. Dojo. Quote:

I wonder if it would be too much to ask for Uematsu to include just one theme that uses the opening from FF1-6(&9)'s random battle themes.
|
All I can say about SSBB is that everyone I've talked to about it has reacted to the inclusion of Snake with a "No Way!/Really!?!/Sweet!" combination reaction (I work at a video game store, BTW). I just hope to god they don't mess with the system of the game too much. I also hope the trophies make a comeback, and that Snake's alternate costumes consist of his snaeking suit, and maybe Big Boss's outfit form MGS3. Also, I think they need to include a level based on Metal Gear.

A Square character in the game is still extremely unlikely, not that I wouldn't love being proven wrong. |

I hope they incorporate Ridley from Metroid somehow...either as a sort of summon, part of a level, or its own character..which might be kinda weird but hey. He's a cool character and has made many appearances..

... Probably right. But I have that feeling. If they Put Snake In there... They have to put at least somebody from FF in there. I guess it Is unlikely though. And I know I've seen that move before.... I haven't played ff9 in a while.... but didn't quina have a move where she put people in a pot? Coulda been a dream though. |

How does that even begin to make sense? |
