Jet Set Radio Future also works, though this only applies to the version on its own disc. The Sega GT/JSRF combo disc does NOT work.

Ramenbetsu Apr 20, 2007 09:46 PM

Breakdown works like a charm as well. All I need now is for them to get Otogi 1 and 2 working and I'm set.

SuperDK Apr 21, 2007 06:55 PM

Although I should be playing GGXX/ (and soon Accent Core), I can't but help notice the exclusion of Guilty Gear XX #Reload and the inclusion of GGIsuka. I know that Isuka is probably here because of KOF Neowave, but still, it wouldn't hurt to be able to play GGXX#R. Kinda pisses me off. It's okay though, there are some real nice games on there.

Adol Apr 21, 2007 09:13 PM

Hey, cool, Panzer Dragoon Orta and JSRF and Mercenaries in one update! Now, if only MS would send me my replacement hard drive so I could play Xbox games at all, I'd be set. ;_;

(calls in a fuel-air-dragon bomb strike on MS's repair center)

That and the fact that the Elite is more money, it's not like it's going to be a very convincing sale, if anything it's just closed the gap betweethe 360 and PS3 by a fair amount, both in features and price. I'm sure it'll create a sale spike, but there won't be that many more then the usual amount of new adopters, and a majority of sales will just be people trading up.

You can't trade in a 360, for an elite. EB/gamestop are actually making you take in cupons to trade in your 360 (with or without a HD) fro $200~$250 and the original xbox for $100. So you can buy the elite for $500, minus the trade-in you just did. Without the cupons, it's like $100 for the 360, which is totall bull.

But like you've said, if someone wanted a 360, they've already gotten it. You might as well just buy the 120GHD for $100 then the whole new system. But I want it for the HDMI, and obiviously the memory (I barely have 5 left). Plus my disk tray isn't working properly anymore so it'll be nice to be able to play without pressing eject 20 times to open or close.

My 360 just keeled over (well, at least I think it did). Had it since last November. How swell. I hoped it wouldn't be like the rest of the 360's out there, but... that was wishful thinking. No... stupid thinking. Ever since two days ago, every time I turn it on, it freezes within a few seconds. Good thing I got that Gamestop 1 year replacement warranty. Too bad I really don't want to get a new faulty 360.

I figure there's nothing wrong with just buying the new SKU instead of buying the parts piecemeal (ie. the 120 GB HDD), and it's a new console, so that's always a plus when compared to a used console.

Where the snot are you buying your console from? Elites cost 550 bucks CAN total, not 660. You get overcharged somewhere?

Reviving this thread I guess.

Yesterday I finally scrounged up the money to pick up an XBox 360 Premium and Forza 2, and I'm loving it. I wasn't big on simulation racers before, but I've been having a lot of fun with Forza 2, though I haven't done any online playing (I still suck too badly).

My gamertag is "anotherfourteen" if anyone feels like adding me. I'll probably be getting Gears and/or Senko no Ronde once my next payday comes around.

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Jun 10, 2007 12:26 PM

Try to find a deal on Senko, if at all possible. Or wait for a price drop, because as much as I like it, it's *not* worth the 60 dollar asking price right now.

Also, put your gamertag and assorted information here: http://www.gamingforce.org/forums/showthread.php?t=98

I've been wondering for a while now, but am I the only one who is more excited for titles such as Bioshock and Mass Effect than Bungie's over hyped FPS?

No, you're not the only one. I'm just trying to decide if it would be better for me to buy an Xbox 360 or PS3, or build a new computer on which to play such titles.

I'm the same. Bioshock and Mass Effect look 100x better then H3 and are my most anticipated games of 07 along with GTAIV.

I don't know why you would contemplate buying a PS3 as neither Bioshock or Mass Effect will ever see the light of day on the PS3. They're 360 exclusive.

russ Jun 10, 2007 08:24 PM

I'm definitely more interested in Mass Effect than Lame-O 3. I'll let everyone else complain about the rampant idiocy that will no doubt be present in the multiplayer, while I'm playing something that actually provides an enjoyable experience for me.

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Jun 11, 2007 01:15 AM

My most anticipated title is Ace Combat 6, but that should come as no surprise to anyone. I'm only looking forward to H3 for a couple of reasons, and while it's certainly not at the top of my list, it's certainly not at the bottom either. I *know* a bunch of people here will end up buying it and it'll be fun playing in a group, but outside of that I can't see myself enjoying it nearly as much as some others.

AC6/GT4/Mass Effect/Eternal Sonata/Burnout Paradise/Blue Dragon/Project Sylpheed/Bioshock/The Darkness are all above Halawl on my "awwwwww hell yeah" list. I still preordered the Legendary Edition though because that helmet is badass.

Elixir Jun 11, 2007 01:59 AM

I'm looking forward to Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata, they both look like great RPGs. I've played through the demo a few times.

Also interested in Beautiful Katamari. I think people are easily forgetting about that title.

Taco Jun 11, 2007 02:33 AM

I played through the Eternal Sonata demo a few times, and I'm really looking forward to it now. I'm also eagerly anticipating Left 4 Dead since the entire premise of it sounds awesome. That and what I saw in a video interview with the developers makes it look like some of the most insane multiplayer in an FPS. Not necessarily the most intense per se, but definitely looks to be worth the price tag.

Syraxis Jun 11, 2007 05:52 PM

I'm glad that there are others who share my opinion regarding Haylo 3.

Since everyone is showing off their most anticipated titles I might as well join in :)

Bioshock (preordering tommorow)
Mass Effect
Eternal Sonata
Lost Odyssey
Project Offset (Last I heard this is coming to 360)
Blue Dragon
Huxley

I also can't wait for the Prince of Persia remake to hit the marketplace.

Wondering if anyone could help

looking to buy premium package xbox360 PAL, or just the 360 with the harddrive and 2controllers.

Looked on ebay UK but having a hard time actually winning anything on there, im a noob at bidding. Anyone know of anywhere i can get a bargin??

Elixir Jun 11, 2007 06:27 PM

I wouldn't buy one second hand unless it's really really cheap and comes with some games. I'd take out the extra warranty on a new unit.

Probably wouldn't bother with the Core either, since you can't download anything which would pretty much rule out the enjoyment of Gold or well, even Silver on Live.

Second hand Xbox 360s are probably a bad idea. The chances of anyone selling one of those this early in its life because they "just don't want it" are probably not in your favor. Sure there will be those that may want the money to get Wiis or PS3s, but chances are they were one of the problematic units from within the launch window of the system.

Odds are in the long run you're better off buying one new, and certainly NOT a core system. I'd say wait till a price drop, but who knows when that's going to happen. I figured it would last year, but with the Grand Canyonesque price gap between the current systems there's no need for Microsoft to drop the price of the system.

Infernal Monkey Jun 11, 2007 08:47 PM

Hey guys. =)

I noticed that Earth Defence Force is finally out here the other day, and it's $40 cheaper than the average 360 game. Want so bad. There's a shit load of awesome games out there that I'd like to play on the system (I already own Dead Rising :thanksstolengoodspawnshop: ) along with the tidal wave of incoming stuff like Eternal Sonata, Brothers in Arms, Mass Effect, Alan Wake if it still exists, GTA IV and so awwwwn.

It's just that the mass hardware fuck ups I've read about scare me. I've already wasted a lot of money on a Wii that Nintendo refuses to actually repair, I don't want to deal with that nightmare again with an even more expensive machine. Has there been any update AT ALL to that 65mm CPU or whatever the hell they were talking about late last year that was supposed to reduce the red ring of death?

If you want to be a dick and your Wii is out of working condition you can just take the parts out of yours, go out buy another one, swap the guts, wait about 3 weeks, take the former back and just say you got one for your birthday.

I believe systems get the full return policy unlike games which cannot be returned once opened.

Alright guys, gff's xbox crew claims to know their stuff, so let's see what you've got:

Using a 220v power brick on a japanese 360 console which is 110v. According to this forum here, it's perfectly safe to use a PAL xbox 360 power supply (which is 220v) on a japanese 360:

Do I need a stepdown transformer?

The Asian Xbox 360 comes with a 220v power supply with a standard three pin UK plug, so no stepdown or socket adapter is required at all. It's 100% plug and play.

The Japanese and American 360's have 110v power supplies and need a beefy 300w stepdown. You can also use a UK power supply with an American or Japanese console and it will run without needing a stepdown, but spare UK power supplies can be expensive to source so you're probably better off with the stepdown.

Question is, can I use a 220v power brick to run a japanese 360? Or, would I be better off buying a step-down transformer? It might be unnecessary. This is only a forum FAQ, I can't seem to find anywhere else that mentions this.

I phoned around, one store says if the forum says it's okay, go for it, one store says don't because the xbox 360's power is internal (?), and Microsoft's support line says it's alright but I thought I should just be cautious and ask here as well.
