I would certainly agree, which is why I'll be uploading it in the very near future!

Man, do I love that woman's voice. And "Humming" is twelve shades of great.

Admiral Amara Dec 7, 2006 01:30 AM

I have now uploaded Portishead (as promised), and I edited the post about two minutes ago to include a Boards of Canada EP that I bought. It's quite good, and I would strongly recommend giving both albums a listen.

If you or Admara don't get to it, I have the album as well for upload :)
Nevermind, Admara got to it already.

Mucknuggle Dec 7, 2006 04:35 PM

I grabbed Nas' Hip Hop is Dead, the full album, leaked a few weeks early. This shit is HOT. I'm currently uploading it for you.

Admiral Amara Dec 7, 2006 04:39 PM

Did... did you just shorten "Admiral Amara" into "Admara"? Because that actually kinda works, DN. I like it :D

I'll be upping more later, probably an album by Pelican or Sonic Youth.

Chaotic Lullaby Dec 7, 2006 05:04 PM

i come bearing things that are girly and cute (but i make no excuses).

hopefully in the future i won't be making anyone wonder if it's possible to need fillings in your ear canals.

Mucknuggle Dec 7, 2006 06:44 PM

Forget about the Nas upload. I'll put the high quality release in the MEC thread when I get it. A low quality rip is currently available in my journal.

Matt Dec 10, 2006 11:30 AM

Ohshi, Colin Hay!
Thanks for that Encephalon. Did you upload that after seeing him on Scrubs? That episode was just on Comedy Central.

I've been watching Scrubs since it started airing on NBC in 2001 and I think Colin Hay was on like the 2nd or 3rd episode of the second season. I think it's the one I mentioned in the review where he was following J.D. around the hospital the whole time, which I thought was fucking hilarious. However, I didn't actually get that album until I listened to the song Beautiful World in the final episode of the first season and only about a few days ago did I find out from Crash that Colin Hay was a member of the 80's pop band Men At Work. Small world, I suppose. :p

Also, guys... I suggest you start paying attention to this new member Artax. He doesn't post at all so he confines all his music sharing to his journal but he's got some damn fine pieces in there. He asked me to post his latest share in the club for him here. Please make sure he feels right at home here.

Admiral Amara Dec 19, 2006 02:15 PM

I know I've been delaying it after people like Moon and Yama have asked for it, but I've finally made my massive Sonic Youth post in the Club, so all of you crazy people enjoy what I've offered! If you're new to the band, I'd suggest going for Sister last and working in reverse order, or asking me to re-upload Daydream Nation, which I will gladly do (and link you to the original post).

knkwzrd Dec 19, 2006 04:51 PM

In addition to all of the records that the good Admiral uploaded, if you're new to the band I'd also recommend checking out the band's 1992 record Dirty, which has been reissued in a great two disc package with lots of bonus material.

Paco Dec 19, 2006 07:38 PM

Sonic Youth is probably the most influential rock band of the late 80's and early 90's. They're pretty much responsible for the "grunge" genre; something which is sadly attributed to bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam. While I have nothing against Nirvana or Pearl Jam myself I can't help but think that they were criminally underrated.

I have all their albums up until Made In USA on CD and the rest I'm pretty sure I have in digital form, so if the good Admiral can't find time to upload them, let me know and I'll do so in his place.

I'm all over this! Thanks!

Admiral Amara Dec 19, 2006 07:49 PM

Well, I've already uploaded all that I have, except for a live bootleg or two, so if you want to go ahead and upload more, be my guest. I'd love to hear more SY than I already have.

Well, them and the Melvins.

And sure, more Sonic Youth comin' up in the next week and a half.

Admiral Amara Dec 20, 2006 02:20 PM

Made another large-ish upload, this time mostly for the benefit of a certain Capo, although I think everybody should have the opportunity to enjoy the Progressive Rock awesome that is King Crimson.

knkwzrd Dec 20, 2006 04:19 PM

I believe I upped In The Court Of The Crimson King a while ago, but the link would be dead by now anyway.

Robert Fripp is god.

Admiral Amara Dec 20, 2006 04:20 PM

Robert Fripp is a masterful guitarist, and more people need to be exposed to his genius. He is basically King Crimson.

wvlfpvp Dec 20, 2006 11:29 PM

So . . . why not either Happy with What You Have to Be Happy With or Power to Believe? Or Thrak, for chrissakes.

Admiral Amara Dec 20, 2006 11:51 PM

Because I don't have any of these albums ;______;

I've basically given you guys all that I've got.

el jacko Dec 30, 2006 07:43 PM

I'm not really big on uploading VGM, but I really enjoy Secret of Mana + and I don't think it always gets the attention it deserves.

On another note, to anyone who listened to the album Downtown - Downtown that was uploaded many months ago, does anyone have something similar to that? I'd really like to hear it.

knkwzrd Dec 30, 2006 07:56 PM

Well, I finally got around to upping more Sonic Youth and King Crimson. Enjoy.

Admiral Amara Dec 30, 2006 08:00 PM

Oh. My. GOD. knkwzrd, that's an absolutely incredible post. The only thing in that post that I actually have is Starless and Bible Black, but the rest of it is entirely new, and all of it material that I'd been wishing I could check out.

DAMN do you rule.

wvlfpvp Jan 9, 2007 11:14 PM

So yeah, I finally upped some stuff. Some choral music by american composers (one of which is heavy metal in classical form), all of which I've performed in, and all of which are just fucking great; and my post of what was the best new album that I heard in 2006.

So yeah. GET IT.

knkwzrd Jan 9, 2007 11:29 PM

Thanks for that soundtrack, Ence. I remember the first film where the music really hit me was Cronenberg's Naked Lunch, which is a collaborative effort between Howard Shore and Ornette Coleman. I've been looking for a copy of that one for a while now without success.

Spoiler:
Already have you're stuff, wvlf. ;)
