If people fail to find those two (Takenaka Eri and Mio Isayama) then let me know and I'll sort out a YSI upload or something for those who frequent this thread.

And yeah, I think hanging out and being mates with your fave J-stars is like a dream for most people. That'd be so cool. ;)

MakiForever Aug 24, 2006 10:54 PM

Check his journal.

Also has anyone heard of BACK-ON? I love their debut single, "CHAIN." Probably because it's pretty relevant to my manga lyrically.

I managed to listen to the "Chain" single a few months ago. I assume they're a relatively new band since I don't recall seeing an album by them yet.

Flara Aug 25, 2006 12:19 AM

goddamn jpopsuki people!!!
!@#$%^&*)%^^%#

I'm stuck at 78% for Takenaka Eri's Persona album!!!
I'll give them another day's chance to give me that album cuz last night I was stuck at 50% with no seeds >___<
now there's no seeds and no leechers at all!!!

FOOKKYU

oh btw... I also took some time to listen to Kato Miliyah's album Rose
I'm loving it hehehe

makura Aug 25, 2006 12:35 AM

Flara, try PMing a lot of the people who left comments. Ask them nicely if they can seed. Usually it works for me. Doesn't hurt to try.

Flara Aug 25, 2006 01:23 AM

last time i did that, the tracker broke.
lol
might be coincidence or something.

oh yeah OP!!!! I can't find anything on Mio Isayama.
U__U

OmagnusPrime Aug 25, 2006 02:29 AM

OK, when I get home (just started work) I'll see about putting those two albums up on YSI or something. Thankfully I don't use JPOPSUKI, or any tracker for that matter, for anything more than a few random PVs and TV performances I can't buy so I don't really run into that problem so much these days, but I've experienced it before.

Also, YUI's new single/PV = <3 <3 <3 <3

Yeah I checked their site, Chain was their debut and nothing else yet. Still love it though.

If only I had a job like you OP. If only. Although collecting manga is more my thing.

She's not exactly the most well-known of artists, so I can't say I'm too surprised about this. The only reason I know of her is because she sang Getsurenka for Shadow Hearts II, which I think is also the reason why OP knows her, though I could be wrong.

Vemp Aug 25, 2006 01:26 PM

OP, can you try uploading those albums? Also, if you can include Sowelu's new album? That would be lovely :D

Actually, no it's not. The reason I know about her is because the day before I left for Japan a friend of mine (someone from j-poop) had told me he was considering buying her album and sent me a link to her site. I gave the samples a listen and thought they were really nice. I said to him that if I saw it out in Japan I might pick it up, though by the time I was in Japan I could only remember the name of the album and roughly what the cover looked like. Could not, for the life of me, remember her name, not even vaguely. It just so happened that in the last few days when we were in a CD shop, whilst looking for another artist altogether, I happened to spot a spine with 'Woman' written on it, pulled it out and there it was. Pure luck. XD

Vemp: k k, sorry, will get onto it.

Update:
I've started uploading the three albums to SendSpace, here's the first, I'll update this post as the others complete:

- Sowelu - 24 -twenty four-
- Mio Isayama - Woman
- Takenaka Eri - Persona

Unas Aug 25, 2006 04:17 PM

Wow never knew j-pop was such a broad spectrum!

Has any of you fine J-pop people ever come across a chap called Marty Friedman on any j-pop songs or playing with any established artists?
He used to play in Megadeth and I heard from a friend that he eventually wound up in the J-pop scene! I'd love to get a hold of some of it if anyone has any info?

OmagnusPrime Aug 25, 2006 04:23 PM

Computer says: wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marty_Friedman_(guitarist)

Can't say I had heard of him, but that should give you some info on what he's been up to.

Unas Aug 25, 2006 04:30 PM

Ah thats the ticket, thank you kindly, he doesn't appear to be as rooted in the music as I thought

No worries, anything we can do to help.

To others looking to grab stuff, I've upped all three albums now, so enjoy.

soulsteelgray Aug 25, 2006 08:00 PM

I thought I should pop in and post tidbits about Koda Kumi's new double A-side single.

Tentative tracklisting:
1. Yume no Uta
2. Futari de...
3. Yume no Uta (Instrumental)
4. Futari de... (Instrumental)

Yume no Uta and Futari de… will have the same basic melody but the arrangements will be different and so will the lyrics. It’s supposed to represent the duality of love. The single is described on her official site as a "2 Story Ballad Single."

It also seems that the first pressing of the CD and CD+DVD editions will have two bonus tracks. (I think that's what her official site says.) The DVD will contain the two PVs and a making-of for the two PVs.

MakiForever Aug 25, 2006 08:00 PM

hi

hi iv heard u met maki? im just really curious....and i like her songs but i wud also like to ask u how was she like when u met her.. and stuff. ty

OmagnusPrime Aug 25, 2006 09:05 PM

She was nice, she was cute, she was cool. That's about all you'll get from me really. If you have anything else to ask you can do it via PM, but please don't post the same question in here over and over.

Flara Aug 25, 2006 11:03 PM

I finally got Takenaka Eri's album from jpopsuki so im gonna leech mio's album from you OP

hehe vempy, u like Sowelu too??
hehehe

Vemp Aug 26, 2006 02:55 AM

wtf, Marty Friedman in the Jpop scene? OMINOUS!

Anyways, yeah Flara, Sowelu is one of the exceptions to my rule of "No RnB/Hip-Hop" music, along with Crystal K and Namie Amuro :p There may be some others, but that's the ones I can remember.

Flara Aug 26, 2006 10:28 PM

Sowelu LOVE!!!! I don't really like Amuro Namie much. haha maybe I just don't listen to enough of her songs. So far, I only like White Light haha it's a christmas song!!!

Takenaka Eri - GOOD!!!! I like her, she's got this mix of Matsu Takako and Sowelu going on. ME LIKE!!!

Isayama Mio - She's ok... I don't really like her voice, some of her songs reminds me of anime, like Sakamoto Maaya. Her album is ok... I wouldn't listen to it for all times though.

Thanks OP for the files!

Vemp Aug 27, 2006 09:10 AM

Is it just me or did Sowelu change her style? I gave her "24 - twenty four" album a listen today and I observed that most of her songs have acoustic guitar accompaniment, which in turn gave the album a whole different feel as compared to her "Geofu" and "Sweet Bridge" albums (although the last few songs kind of remind me of her old style). Nevertheless, I'm loving this album. Thanks OP and Flara! :D

Soprano1 Aug 27, 2006 04:29 PM

Maybe i'm off topic, but can anyone tell me some good B'z songs? I just heard SPLASH!, and it's pretty good. Thank you.

Well, you're not the first to hear B'z for the first time and want to find out more. They've been going at it for awhile now and SPLASH! is their 38th consecutive #1 single.

This basically means that any song that they've ever made will probably be to your liking. To add even more to this, they've both done solo projects as well, which have produced great music as well.

Some of my favorites include:
Ai no Bakudan
OCEAN
Girigiri Chop
Negai
Shoudou
Ai no Mama ni Wagamama ni, Boku wa Kimi dake wo Kizutsukenai

Since they have such a massive library, if you're planning on giving them a lot of attention, it may be in your best interest to go after their "Best of" albums. It'll save you a lot of legwork.
