EDIT: In fact, it's called Slicks 'n' Slide. This and Death Rally were amongst the most enjoyable top-down racers I've played at the time.

Correct! I had so much fun playing that in 4-player on school computers when I was a kid. It was especially hilarious when the keyboard buffer clogged up and three players couldn't turn because too many keys were being held down ='D

I think someone made a clone/port of some kind with Turbo Sliders, but the netplay it was said to offer required you to shut down firewalls, so it was mostly good for LAN parties.

Looks like Lunar: The Silver Star!

Ack! It's...Lunar: Eternal Blue for the Sega CD. It confused me for a second because I had only played the Playstation version and thought "wait, I don't remember the game looking like that".

Edit: damn, got the characters from the two games mixed up. Can never remember which is from which Lunar game.
