Nah, I'm playing Normal mode for now. I might go back through Proud mode after I beat that though. I planned on keeping Donald in my party anyway, since it seems more balanced to have two fighters and one mage.

I played more tonight, and woah, I FINALLY can go to other worlds! I stopped at the Land of Dragons 'cause my little sister wanted me to go there. If I had known earlier that I would have needed Cure, however, I would've went to the other worlds instead. Oh well.
Now here's my thoughts on what I've experienced so far. 1. They actually fixed all the bloody issues I've had with the battle system from the first game, OMG! The issues I had an extreme annoyance with were the fact you 1) couldn't open treasure chests during battle, 2) you couldn't leave the area during a battle (if you wanted to go somewhere and you had to pull a lever to open a door to advance, then it's tough luck for you!), and 3) if you went even a step forwards after defeating a dozen enemies, a dozen more enemies will appear to give you major grief, forcing you to battle when you don't want to. THANK YOU, SQUARE! 2. Gotta love the voice-acting, but unfortunately, the FF characters didn't quite pass the Quality test. I agree with everyone that Aeris sounds just too flat. She's my only major beef though. The rest are decent enough. Yuffie's acting is good. Cid is good too. The fact he sounds like a Southern this time around doesn't mean he's a bad voice actor. However, decent as they may sound, they could've been great if only they put a little more effort into it. 3. I can't remember everything that was mentioned in this therad, but am I the only one who thinks Leon's model is a major improvement this time around? Compared to his KH model, his hair and face in KH II is much nicer, and I just love his facial expressions. They're very impressive, and the fact that Squall is my favourite FF character of all time just makes it even better. It's like I am looking at a totally different character. 4. I hate the whole 'morale' thing in battle. |

7 full drivebars and level 5 drives, are the max. They are quite painful to get since its hard to level at stupid nobodys.
Oh btw did you get the skills/techniques where sora is like so unstoppable, The battles do shine once you get those. |
i think i have most of them.. im like lvl 52. I mow down thousands of heartless/nobodies with ease.. with a certain keyblade :P

You can level up drives faster using the drive glitches, which luckly remained in the NA version, check gamefaqs for more info on them.

When can I drive myself into wisdom or brave? I only can use that vauld or whatever the name is (the first drive U get). In which other ways can I refill my gauge beside leaving to the worldmap?
Yep the morale thing is anoying but at least it makes the game a little bit more difficult. Do you have to search for some of the ansem reports or will you get all of them right away through the game? |
There two ways to refill the gauges, the glitches I posted above, or by attacking enemies which builds it up and getting drive balls which fills the bar up. That's of course the normal method and makes driving to level up forms hard. AND it makes obtaining final form harder.
