Also, here's a zoomed-out map of the entire explored part of the third stronghold.

Your traveling companion is very merciful there, Gheth :tpg:

The unmovable stubborn Dec 15, 2009 07:12 PM

jesus guys I admit it was kind of a long battle but you don't have to go all Lord Of The Flies up ins

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Dec 15, 2009 07:12 PM

Like most religious men, if he doesn't see it, it might as well not exist.

Also, Sin City was on TV.

The unmovable stubborn Dec 15, 2009 07:15 PM

ALRIGHT GUYS TIME TO GO BACK TO TOWN

WHOA HEY DON'T USE THAT BRIDGE

WE DON'T USE THE WEST BRIDGE ANYMORE

WHY?

UH

A GOOD REASON?

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Dec 15, 2009 07:17 PM

Yeah.

There's no garbage on the far bridge. Don't have to crawl over Rundarr's badly decomposing feet and whatever else it was I threw out onto it.

The unmovable stubborn Dec 15, 2009 07:20 PM

Actually I'm pretty sure you did throw corpses out on the other bridge as well. You guys got kind of a fetish for manhandling the dead.

But there's a back door anyway so w/e

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Dec 15, 2009 07:28 PM

That's a good point. So far there's a head on a pike near the door, it's corresponding body nearby, Rundarr boiled in a pot sans feet, a tossed corpse on both bridges, a dehydrated torso near a firepit and a half melted carcass in a hallway.

Oh well.

Waste not, want not.

Zergrinch Dec 15, 2009 08:09 PM

Pang, it's likely I'll be using this power in the near future, so I'd like to clear up some doubts in advance.

http://www.ddwiki.saxypunch.com/imag...obrastance.png

How would you interpret "moves closer to you"? Since it's an opportunity action, does it follow that only voluntary and non-shifting movements are subject to this?

Second, will this in turn trigger opportunity attacks? Let's say 1 square separates me and a melee enemy, and he moves adjacent to me. Will he get an AoO that interrupts the activation of the ranged basic attack?

The unmovable stubborn Dec 15, 2009 08:47 PM

Well, for one thing, Spitting Cobra stance was recently errata'd: I've corrected your sheet with the new version. It's now significantly less powerful since the free attacks are now immediate reactions and not opportunity actions. This means only one bonus attack per round, rather than potentially one on each enemy's turn. However, immediate reactions lack any restriction against being triggered by forced movement. It's a mixed bag.

Regardless, using a bow at melee range is still a bad idea as far as I can tell.

In brighter news, Careful Shot was also errata'd and your Dex modifier is now added to damage! Although the power card is bugged and says Str modifier which would make no sense.

In other errata news, Acer's Rod Of Reaving was also errata'd recently: the bonus 1 point of damage from placing a curse no longer applies to minions (because that would be silly).

Zergrinch Dec 15, 2009 08:49 PM

I am very sad that I did not get to abuse Spitting Cobra Stance before the erratum. :( :( :(

To compensate me for my sadness, I wish to immediately retrain the Lethal Hunter feat into Hunter's Aim , Split the Tree to Hunter's Bear Trap , and Shadow Wasp Strike to Disruptive Strike !

The unmovable stubborn Dec 15, 2009 09:04 PM

5 extra damage on the attack you use most often seems like pretty decent compensation mr. man

Speaking of retraining I suggest those of you who do have access to the character builder (legitimately or not) discuss available options at Level 6 with those players who don't have access, because my previous system of "screenshot every available option and slap it into a post" is looking veeeeerrry implausible this go-round. Cal alone qualifies for... let's see... over 300 feats. So.

As far as I know pirating the character builder is fairly easy

Zergrinch Dec 15, 2009 09:06 PM

Actually, I thought that as a coward, Nimble Strike was better than Careful Attack. Most of the time I'll be using Twin Strike, unless accuracy is necessary (burn a troll, lolol)

As far as retraining is concerned, I'm kinda vacillating between getting me a Greatbow or a Superior Crossbow. 1 point of accuracy sounds better than 2 points of damage, but I can't use Twin Strike with crossbows !@#!!@! and must take two feats to use it properly, that being Superior Crossbow proficiency and "Speed Loading" :(

Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaase with sugar on top?

5 points of extra damage on an at-will isn't anywhere near comparable to a possible 1d10+7 AoO on every single opponent that moves closer to me (less one), per round!

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Dec 15, 2009 09:31 PM

If we're retraining now instead of at level up, Guilding Strike in exchange for War Song Strike would be super duper.

The unmovable stubborn Dec 15, 2009 09:37 PM

EXCEPT WE'RE NOT DOING THAT

First you take up Zerg's obsession with corpse mangling

Now his issues with literacy

You are hanging out with a bad crowd, Skills :(

Zergrinch Dec 15, 2009 09:38 PM

Excuse me! I took the corpse mangling thing from whoever put that decapitated dwarf head on a pike! :D

Also! I mangle corpses. He draws and quarters living things, then roasts. Totally different.

Told you before. Adaptable and all that. Pang (Wave of Despair) and Skills (Diplomacy with Helga) totally started the Helga harlot thing too =O

The unmovable stubborn Dec 15, 2009 09:40 PM

YOU ARE BOTH THE WORST

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Dec 15, 2009 09:40 PM

That's harsh bro. Real harsh.

Zergrinch Dec 15, 2009 10:10 PM

If only I didn't open my big mouth today :(
