Anyway, for my bad english, i can't understand where the zodiac spear is. Right now i'm in nabudis, waiting for negalmuur...but where in the dungeon is the chest i neeD?

Mhh, about the zodiac spear. Do i have to find the entrance from silkwood (never passed through that entrance), and find that room?

Read Piccolo's post. He just referred you to a very good guide to get the spear.

At any rate, I'm quite fearful of the "hog guys" in the "Necherol" of Nabudis. They're weak to ice damage, which I'm trying to capitalize as much on my blizzaga spells, since it seems to do decent damage (around 2000) to them. However, they are MUCH stronger (11,000 HP) than their Deadlands cousins with only like half that amount. I need to know if there are any save crystals in the Necherol area, as it'd be a pain to keep tracking back to where I fought that red crystal bug in the deadlands.
Baknamy heierarchy:

- Salikawood (weakest)
- Deadlands (middle of the road)
- Necrohol (bitches have Demonsbanes + Demon Shields)

Equip cameo belts if the parrying gets annoying, and keep in mind that if you see one Baknamy, there are two more that will decloak if you engage that one (or it attacks you).

How is the deathscythe hunt (level VI) in the vacinity? I've already taken down three rank VI hunts so I probably know what I'm up against.
Easy, but he puts up a paling, making himself immune to physical attacks about halfway through. That's when he starts spamming Death. Aside from that, he's easy.

Spatula Jan 8, 2007 02:24 PM

Death is probably one of the least worried spells I have in this game now, surprisingly. I remember how in the previous FFs where casting/using a pheonix down was such a pain, and it was a pretty serious case if one of your guys went down. Gambit Phoenix Downs, why are you so awesome.

This cameo belt you speak of sounds interesting, considering my melee guys are only yielding 70% parries and misses, while only 30% hit rate, which makes things bad - therefore relying on blizzaga. Where is this item.

P.S. Yes, it is a joke.

Lionking-Cyan Jan 8, 2007 02:38 PM

Dammit, tried again over and over and i still can't make negalmuur spawn.

Heh, yeah, it makes reviving folks easy. Unfortunately, I hate having my people go down. It's a cheap move/spell and only serves to prolong battles.

They sell it in Balfonheim (I think at the item shop), or if you want to do it the hard way, Archeoaevis enemies drop them.

Are you killing everything in the room and zoning?

Lionking-Cyan Jan 8, 2007 02:43 PM

Yep, i come from the save room, kill all mobs, go to the boss room (the one where i fought the esper), and get back to ward of the sword king, but he doesn't appear, so i zone again to the save room, get back to the ward of the sword king, but nothing yet. So i save, restart, and load, and do the whole again. I've been doing this for the whole day, but still nothing...

Are you making sure you kill everything, and then double check? Because sometimes the enemies in larger maps will respawn as you're moving away. Other than that, good luck. Some rare game, even with the conditions met, take repeated attempts to get them to pop up.

You're going to hate getting Tower. =/

Lionking-Cyan Jan 8, 2007 02:55 PM

Well, when i zone, no mobs are in the area, and they appear after sa little i've zoned back in ward of the sword king, so, later that i get where the mob should spawn...but does he spawn near the statue in front of the save room door?

Negalmuur spawns right at the intersection between the three paths:

- The one from the boss map
- The one from the waystone
- The one from the save crystal

He spawns right there, and the monsters only respawn if you move two maps away and back again.

Well I decided not to go to Omega yet because I think I am more apt to use MS's method during the fight. So I will probably have to level up a bit more till I'm at 99. I also want to have the Whale Whisker becuase of the insane combo rate. I believe Metal referred to it as "Pure Sex", haha I love that.So until I can get the rest of the Aquarius Gems I think I'll hold off. Now it's time to go ahead and take out Chaos. Don't know why it took me this long to finally do this quest but I have all the medallions and stuff now. With the new magic trick it should be a cakewalk.

Just use Piccolo's confirmed spell: Scathe. He did reflected one Scathe spell and it did 9999 points worth of damage three times to the Shield Wyrm he used it against. Now, if you have all three do it then throw on the Opal Rings you need, he'll take ~89,991 points of damage if they all hit for the maximum amount.

That's definitely not something to scoff at, since it's 3x as much damage as you would've done if each individual scathe was cast directly at him.

Yea I have tried it out as well and for that reason I am very much looking foward to this fight. Even if he is taken out after just a couple spells! Just went through the Humbaba mistant fight with ease. What commical way to go huh?

BTW, how long did it take you to get the Z. Estecheuon (sp?) to spawn? I think you said there was one in the Cerobbi Stoppe if I'm thinking correct.

Yeah, both Fury and Humbaba Mistant, after being made out to be some world destroying beasts, were actually just clowns. Fury especially.. WTF?

Ugh, you don't want to know. I think 50% of the time, the chest isn't even there, and you have to go through a Ash Wyrm and 3 Skulwyrms to get to it (you have to go through them to make it respawn too). Just do this (after unlocking Taurus II)

- Make sure you saved before
- Go to the platform with the chest on it
- If it's not there, run all the way back to Capricorn II (just inside the map)
- Run back to the chest and check.
- That constitutes 3 maps, so the chest will be forced to spawn or respawn

If you want to make a Sagittarius Bow, this is a GREAT place to get Moon Rings, as the Wyrm drops them often (along with Koga Blades). You'll also leave with a ton of Wyrm Bones for anyone who wants to make the Scorpion Tail.

Damn man, that sounds like quite a bitch to get. I think I may have to hold onto that one for a day when I get really bored and need to just kill some time. I think my patience would be running thin after a little while especially with all the zoning and shit.

Heh, it will especially if you don't have at least one Ribbon, because the Skulwyrms have a nasty habit of using curse left and right.

Reposting the unanswered question (maybe it was answered, but I can't see it because lol):

Are there any save crystals in the Necrohol of Nabudis.

nope, it's just you and your trusty charge gambit here (and god knows that's gonna happen plenty, with those friendly oversouls using annul all the time).

You don't even need charge, just have your characters whack some enemies a few times, and they'll have enough to Syphon easily.

SOLDIER_2825 Jan 9, 2007 02:05 AM

Well after a long break today I finally took out Fury Mistant and Chaos. He actually gave me more trouble then I initally anticipated (So basically it took about 5 minutes). Only because I figured I could have all three people attack with Scathe and not have a designated healer. But that had to be changed. Still pretty easy though with triple-casting.

Lionking-Cyan Jan 9, 2007 06:40 AM

Yesterday, i finally succeded in spawning negalmuur. I was worried that he could scare me to death, as after passing there so many times, i thought that when he would appear i'd scream for fear. And infact, when he spawned, i really shivered lol.
So, since i just had to go to bed, i saved and turned off the ps2, as the guide said he would still be there...but he wasn't, so this morning i wasted another half an hour to make him spawn, of course this was much faster than the whole yesterday, as now i know better how to spawn him. Now my characters are lvling very nice ^^.

Erm, I believe he was referring to your seemingly alcohol induced style of typing. I know that I had to read both your posts at least 2 or 3 times to get an idea of what you were talking about. Just slow down a little bit and try to use some proper grammer, then you probably won't get messed with.

Anyways, I feel like I'm getting pretty close to the conclusion of this game.
Spoiler:
Chasing crazy Dr. Cid (awsome that he's a fucking crazy villain by the way. Even Balthier's father to boot) to that holy city.

I'm at about 50 hours and I'm pretty much ready for it to end. I can't understand how you guys can play it for a 100+ hours, though I can kind of see the appeal. I wish there had been more story sequences and less leveling up. I feel like at the end I barely know the characters as well as I would want to. So, I suppose the only complaint I have with the storyline is that there wasn't enough of it. I WANT MORE!

Jimmy Choo Jan 9, 2007 01:01 PM

Subterra sucks Ballllsssssssssss, bdw does levelling ACTUALLY make any NOTICEABLE differences :cow:

For example, is there actually any proof o.0

Because i find that my characters i still hitting the same damage rate with same speed as 10 levels previous.

Go do a quickening chain on a wolf with Rank 1s only. Now start a new game, get a team and get them their first quickenings. Try the same change on a wolf.

Since the quickenings have their own power rating separate from the weapons equipped (notice they don't use their weapons), if they don't gain anything from levels, you'll do the same damage to the wolves. If not, well then you know that you gain something when you level.

Or you can stop bottlenecking your characters, and give them better weapons and armor. This game definitely has a focus on gameplay, since the equipment you throw on actually improves your party noticeably.

Lionking-Cyan Jan 9, 2007 01:33 PM

Yep, i found it that equipment affects much more the game. A guide i red, said that you should do at least 3 dungeons with the same equip. I disagree. At least if you consider all those chained dungeon as only 1.

Anyway, i red that maximiliam armor is the best. Is it true for both the helmet and armor?
Should i put it on all my characters, or only on the tank, and give the others light armor?

Lordly Robes and Circlet = Best Magic Armor
Dueling Mask and Brave Suit = Best Light Armor
Grand Armor and Grand Helm = Best Heavy Armor

I give everyone heavy armor. I focus on all out attack because magic in this game is too slow for most normal encounters, and the disadvantages in places like Henne, of losing precious points in defense are far too great to ignore. The light armor is ridiculous. No point in having so much HP when you run through it faster than the others do.
