I has minor question about concealment! Does the smoke cover Y-5 and Y-4 as well?

Also guys, why don't you use your action points. Pang admits we've strictly fought a Level 10 battle, so I'm sure that counts as a milestone (2 encounters without taking a short rest an extended rest) so you'll get one back :)

The unmovable stubborn Dec 11, 2009 08:02 PM

Yeah, unfortunately Maptools refuses to overlay anything atop the token layer.

Smoke is in

U-5, U-4
V-6, V-5, V-4
W-5, W-4
X-5, X-4
Y-5, Y-4

MILESTONES DO NOT WORK THAT WAY

Yessir! Right away sir!

Okay, so it's extended rest, not short rest. Still a level 10 encounter counts as two back-to-back level 5 encounters, right?

The unmovable stubborn Dec 11, 2009 08:14 PM

I don't know why you would think such a thing, you silly

But, but... it was only made 'easy' because of Acerbandit's creativity!

You wouldn't want to penalize player creativity, would you? .__.

Zergrinch Dec 13, 2009 12:20 PM

Three questions for Mr. Pang!

1. Will Changeling Trick give me combat advantage for ranged attacks, or is it strictly a melee matter?

2. If I want to keep up the pretense, do we make opposed bluff rolls every round? (Of course it stands to reason the whole ruse is busted once I try to attack him, but what if I don't?)

3. Just for flavor, is it possible to describe how high the room is, and what raiment Gorg is wearing? :)

The unmovable stubborn Dec 13, 2009 01:02 PM

1. The power doesn't seem to specify melee, so ranged should work just as well.

2. As far as I can tell, Changeling Disguise just continues to work until you do something that makes it obvious you're a fake (or in same cases, failing to do something).

3. 15 feet, and not much of anything other than a loincloth and a collar.

Some of you may notice a new field on your character sheets. Pay it no particular mind.

Sweet. But I only got two kills ;___;

Nominating Skills for one more achievement: First to have 2 characters he controlled (Naked dwarf, doorman) die. :3:

Helga's a bossy type. Don't you guys think it would be quite... out of character for her to so easily acquiesce to a shouted demand, especially coming from an inferior (in status and intelligence) being such as the Grimmerzhul pet troll...? :tpg:

Please, Zerg. If I let you chip in on achievement ideas Cal would be drowning in the damned things before the week's out. I HAVE SEEN THROUGH YOUR RUSE.

Moar liek Kuribo Award-style "achievements" like: worst plan ever, worst role-playing ever, best rules lawyer, best munchkin, and greediest PC ever... amirite?!

So anyway to make this post at least tangentially on topic, what's Gorg's passive insight score that I have to beat with Changeling Trick? :)

The unmovable stubborn Dec 13, 2009 08:36 PM

Gorg's passive Insight is 15.

How about first to be voted out of the game by other player opinion?

Zergrinch Dec 14, 2009 01:36 AM

:( :( :(

___

PHB says aid another is a basic melee attack, strength versus AC 10. I want to make sure aiding Garr succeeds, and will spend my Lucky Charm Daily if need be. Does a roll of 8 succeed? (I'm not sure what roll enhancements to add).

Edit: Ummm, you withdraw your answer, Skills?

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Dec 14, 2009 01:51 AM

Yeah, due to ambiguity of wording, I'm no longer 100 percent sure on that.

Zergrinch Dec 14, 2009 01:52 AM

Very well. Pang, if a roll result of 8 succeeds, then please give me my item daily power back, okay? :)

The unmovable stubborn Dec 14, 2009 08:41 AM

Yeah, your Lucky Charm was unnecessary (barely).

Let the record show that I resent having to put unarmed statistics on your sheet for no reason other than that you keep throwing perfectly good swords on the ground.

Also Garr used both his Encounter powers already so I am curious what this will accomplish that a couple of arrows couldn't

Zergrinch Dec 14, 2009 08:44 AM

Oh Pang, you know I'll never attack any monster on melee. Much less unarmed. Feel free not to update it.

I totally intend to pick up that sword later. It's just that stowing swords takes a minor, while dropping them is free. And my past few turns just don't give me the chance to use that minor :(

We're not operating on my plan today. I look forward to seeing how it works out too, and relish the chance to castigate the culprit if it goes south.

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Dec 14, 2009 11:52 AM

No posthumous achievements for the retired characters then? :(

And I'm sure someone could persuade Zerg to go through all the old adventure threads and add up kill tallies for them too.

The unmovable stubborn Dec 14, 2009 12:03 PM

I'll get around to it at some point, it's just that keeping it to the new group for the moment forestalls having to slog through the massive clusterfuck that was Hargast.

Nope, that's a bookkeeping job, my friend :)

Anyway I am sure it's unnecessary. Everyone knows Argumentus has the highest number of kills, while Bob has the least...

Zombie Minions killed by your Hargast barricades don't count, right?

Skexis Dec 15, 2009 04:42 AM

I figured a little RP would help spice things up. I don't want to slow down the pace of the game, but having both the dragonborn thing and the cleric thing running against him, I think Gheth would have to object to torture in full view of him.

Zergrinch Dec 15, 2009 05:17 AM

Anyhow, isn't D&D the granddaddy of all role-playing games? It's nice to go from a month of hack and slash (which, for the case of an Archer Ranger, is thwip-thwip-run) to roleplay for a bit. :)

Torture is such a terrible word. Think of it as a less-pleasant shaving experience. Can't have him firing off poisonous quills at us while we're interrogating him, right :tpg:

Besides, if there's any... enhanced interrogation involved, Cal won't be the best man for the job - having such a piss-poor intimidation and strength score... I suppose he can indirectly go physical with acrobatics...
