Heavenly Sword might be coming to Japan and US this week too. I think it was confirmed by Sony, just don't know when.

Megalith Jul 24, 2007 12:55 AM

XMB wallpaper option finally available.

PRETTY SIK...

Slayer X Jul 24, 2007 07:10 AM

Oooooo... perty.

Also SCEA has just confirmed that the HS demo WILL be on NA PSN this week. YAY!!!

Hopefully te demo is the same as the E3 one with the first three levels of the game.

Kairi Li Jul 24, 2007 07:31 AM

I want impressions of the Heavenly Sword demo please! And screenshots/photos/videos if possible!

hikarub Jul 24, 2007 07:53 AM

Oh. God! Finally they brought over the wallpaper thingy!! This was the only thing I was actually ever waiting for, other than the cool demos. Can't wait to update this.....

I'm curious to see if the playable demo of Heavenly Sword will have new stuff compared to the previous playable code I've tried at work.

No it won't. As far as I know its the Gamer's Day demo.

map car man words telling me to do things Jul 24, 2007 09:05 AM

Well I have no knowledge whether the code I played was the Gamer's Day demo since it had selectable languages (subtitles and audio) and everything :(

I doubt this demo will however, I'm just curious if it will take place in a different chapter.

Slayer X Jul 24, 2007 09:19 AM

Well like I said. The E3 '07 demo had the first three chapters of the game in it, along with improved code.

IGN's game impressions -> http://ps3.ign.com/articles/804/804704p1.html

"Thank the maker, there's more to Heavenly Sword than just arena battles! As most of you probably remember, our biggest concern for the game was that it was made up of segmented fighting sequences and nothing else."

GameSpot E3 '07 -> http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/h...ml?sid=6174797

"Heavenly Sword is on display and playable at E3 2007, and we checked out the demo and came away very impressed."

" Luckily for us, Sony says we'll be getting a demo version containing all of the game's second chapter a couple of weeks after E3..."

UltimaIchijouji Jul 24, 2007 09:28 AM

I'm highly disappointed with the GAME menu organization. Can't they let us order them ourselves? Theres not really any more order to it in any of their organization methods than there was before.

Screw you Sony.

edit// In other news I just signed up for the Metal Gear Online beta. We'll see if I get in on 8/16.

Inhert Jul 24, 2007 10:58 AM

hmmm an update only for wallpaper? they could at least wait till they had other things >.> I'll probably never use it anyway...

and where to you sign up for the MGO beta?

Musharraf Jul 24, 2007 11:47 AM

Hey wait, that's not all! You can even create animated icons for your video files now. How extremely useful.

Inhert Jul 24, 2007 11:48 AM

what? it was always there! I have done it for all the video I have download since I own my ps3 >.> (and I have it since the launch ...)

Musharraf Jul 24, 2007 11:57 AM

Are you sure about that? Oh well, as a matter of fact, I only noticed it today. Not that it's something extremely exciting, though.

You have a chance if you get through the submission form, just not very much of one. Same for me. Except I got through the submission form before I went to work.

eprox1 Jul 24, 2007 11:55 PM

Yeah I'm not going to even try. Hopefully someone will find some kind of hack like they did with the Warhawk beta...

lol I'm writing this from my PS3, and christ it takes forever to type...

Slayer X Jul 24, 2007 11:59 PM

There's enough games coming out to keep me busy until the real game comes out so I'dd just wait till MGS:PO+ comes out to play it online ;)

Dizzy Jul 25, 2007 01:00 AM

Ok guys, I've a question.

I'm going to buy a Ps3 next week and I'll be also buying a widescreen monitor (probably 22').

The problem is that most of the monitors that I've seen don't have HDMI input, but they have DVI with HDMI support.

Is there a big resolution difference between the two? I've seen HDMI to DVI adapters for Ps3, but if it looses too much resolution or quality maybe it's not worth it.

Megalith Jul 25, 2007 01:34 AM

Video-wise, HDMI and DVI are identical.

Problem is, some displays run into problems when DVI is translated to HDMI.

Slayer X Jul 25, 2007 08:09 AM

Well the PS3's HDMI has HDCP copy protection in it, so if you get a monitor, make sure it has HDCP support, otherwise you'll only get a black screen when you set it all up.

Dizzy Jul 25, 2007 09:30 AM

So, as long as the monitor has DVI with HDMI support it'll be ok, right? Thanks for the info.
