The Ravens weren't particularly outplayed, we just couldn't get as much for our 300 yards as the Bengals did for theirs. Stover missing a field goal due to a bad snap on his second try (the Bengals called a timeout just prior to the snap on the first one, something that I feel shouldn't be legitimate at all.) and BJ Sams, one of the best returners in the league, getting a broken leg did not help at all.
Either way, as far as losses go, that one wasn't very worrisome except for the loss of our star returner for most likely the remainder of the season. |
Well, the Giants can kiss their season good bye. Yet another loss, but look on the bright side Giants' fans, Eli played like the mediocre qb he is, and not like the extremely terrible one he was playing like recently.

I've decided that the Giants are almost as much fun to watch as the Ravens just because I can see Coughlin's soul being sucked away by the team he's failing to coach. Two plays stood out for me:
1)# 97 Mathias Kiwanuka intercepting Romo's pass and then immediately dropping the ball for a fumble to let the Cowboys gain 5 yards and get a new set of downs after failing to sack Vince Young last week. 2)Plaxico Burress, after drawing a questionable pass interference call, charges across the field to ram a Cowboy defender 20 minutes after the play was called dead. Last week (oh and the one before that) Burress gave up on seemingly reachable passes that ended up as interceptions. The Giants are on a roll. |
I don't like how unconfident I am about this Patriots team. I knew they'd win in the end, but I'm getting the feeling others don't expect them to.

Bears won the division, so they have a playoff spot.
As for the rest of the NFC, wildcard seems interesting enough. Dallas seems set to take the NFC East, while the NFC West favors Seattle (St. Louis, San Francisco and Arizona...I can't see it). NFC South seems to be New Orleans by the way they're playing, but Carolina is still there. If N.O. does win the NFC South then it'd probably come down to the Giants, Panthers, and Falcons for the Wildcard. Anyways, Arizona won, which means it's just Oakland and Detroit tied for the worst record in the league. |
I'm loving this AFC wild card race. Denver has the first spot with a 7-4 record and the Jets, Bengals, Jaguars and Chiefs all have a 7-5 record. This should be an interesting playoff race as the season draws closer to an end.

Thanks to the NFL Network and Thursday games I didn't hear about the Steelers-whoever game until today.

To tell you the truth, I'm not a fan of Thursday games. Just put a game or two on NFL Network on Sunday, it'd be easier. And the Steelers played the Browns, not a game I'd really want to watch anyway. |
I hate the NFL Network for making games on Thursdays and Saturdays. What happened to tradition?

However, unlike previous years, now only about 10% of non-local viewers can actually watch the games.

There was one Sunday morning many years ago, for instance, where a pregame broadcast crew was offering up one of those superfast videos where the groundscrew at Giants Stadium was at work altering the endzones for a New York home game on Sunday after a New York home game on Saturday (I forget which team played which day). The difference this year is that NFL Network has the broadcast rights to all of the Thursday and Saturday games. |
tomlinson broke alexander's 28 td record. damn he is good.

Wow, this is one of the more uplifting days of Baltimore football I've seen in awhile...Ravens win big by playing close through most of the game and both Pats and Colts look insanely vulnerable now, along with Denver looking worse by the week. Cincy wins a gimme and they're still 2 back with 3 to play. And we've beaten SD (the other current AFC powerhouse ATM) this year. My gloating rights are fully intact, it seems.
Although the Giants fans at work have right to be in high spirits as well...Beating Carolina was no easy task. Congrats to Tomlinson for not only setting the record, but setting it with 3 games left to play! Insanity... |
Chargers gonna win it all...
|
Too bad that Indy has fallen down to earth like a plane with its wings clipped. I personally don't wanna see Ego Manning win the SB.
I'm feeling even stronger about a Bears/Chargers matchup for the SB this year. Bears haven't been totally on top of things lately, but I feel they have the best chance in the NFC to make it. Chargers are gonna run all over them though. As for my Broncos, I think we need to can a few offensive lineman. If you can't protect the QB, you fail. And some of them are failing miserably. |

I'm still calling Colts vs Ravens for the AFC Championship (provided we don't meet earlier). Both Tomlinson and Jamal Lewis can make things hellacious for Indy if their weakness is as glaring as everyone thinks it is though... Will definitely be a great January, regardless. And tonight's game aside, I like Dallas for the Superbowl in the NFC. Chicago is almost too obvious a pick at this point, so I have to root for the team that has kept me entertained (for better or worse) for the whole season. |

Dallas doesn't really excel enough in my eyes to be in the Superbowl. On the AFC's side, though, there's a lot of contenders. Ravens, Chargers, Colts - playoffs are going to be interesting. The Eagles surprised me though. Still in the playoff hunt even though McNabb is out for the season. |
Why do you guys keep including the Colts.
Why do you guys keep including the Colts. Why do you guys keep including the Colts. Apparently I'm the only person on earth who's been watching the Peyton Manning Playoff Show for the past few years. Nothing's changed folks, the Colts are going to get sent home like they do every year. |

Perhaps it'd be better for the Colts if they actually had to play in the wildcard game. |
Quote:
Don't bet on the Colts until they're in the Super Bowl. |

Yeah well the playoffs are all set... How the hell did the Chiefs manage to sneak their way in there?
