Second revision: I find Shirona's Theme/Battle sexcellent and the Galaxy admin fight decent as well.

Everything else needs some getting used to.

Big J Nov 1, 2006 11:24 AM

well, those pics look like pretty much the same GBA game to me, I wanna see stuff in action first... but I'm still getting it just cause you can trade pkmn over wifi

Synthesis Nov 2, 2006 12:09 AM

The Town and Route themes I don't mind at all. It's the Battle music that sounds too cutesy-poo.

Even Ruby/Sapphire had battles themes that sounded somewhat epic, but I might be stepping too far.

The best battle music was most defintely in the R/B/Y and G/S series, without question.

Neogin Nov 5, 2006 11:05 PM

G/S had the best Gym/Elite 4 themes, without a doubt.

Either way, I don't mind. Pokemon has always had one of the best soundtracks on any Nintendo console/handheld, so I shouldn't be worrying.

I agree that Pokemon has always had a great soundtrack. It just takes some getting used to with them using new and different synth instrumentation with the advance of sound technology for handheld gaming.

I mean, R/B/Y and G/S were straight synth chiptunes, R/S and FR/LG expanded on this by giving it a more orchestral synth style (If you can call it that) by using things like synth brass, strings, and a timpani-like percussion.

I looked at that twice trying to figure out "why you'd turned your signature into a message" before I figured out what the hell was going on.

I'm incredibly slow today... XD

Sceptre X Dec 18, 2006 06:50 PM

I'm thinking about not getting this one the more I hear about it. Unless they include a hard mode, I'm gone. That game is such a cakewalk it's scary, and each game gets easier. Gold and Silver were the last good ones. We'll see, though, you never know. XD

Dubble Dec 18, 2006 06:55 PM

I dunno. Gold and Silver never caught my attention like the original did. As a result I never picked up Ruby/Saph or Firered/Leafgreen. Mystery Dungeon was the first Pokemon game I'd played in YEARS to be honest. I'm kind of looking forward to D/P if only because for once the game seems to finally "look" updated and seems to be a lot more intricate than what I was expecting. Here's hoping.

Vampiro Dec 19, 2006 04:32 AM

They were never difficult games, just somewhat lengthy.

RABicle Dec 19, 2006 06:23 AM

Too lengthy in the case of Gold and Silver. I'm thinking of skipping Pokémon forever now after I heard there are a dozen fucking legendaries. Fuck that.

Niczo Dec 26, 2006 09:21 PM

Same, but bigger. Just as expected from a new generation of Pokémon games. Apart from the internet multiplayer feature, it's just the same old game I once used to love but which has now become old and boring.

Sin Ansem Jan 3, 2007 10:35 PM

Sucks that Pokemon games are rehashes, but are so damn addicting.

I do believe you can actually breed one of them as well.

I understand Nintendo trying to vary the game's dynamics by making exceptions regarding the pokemon's stats and the like (Magnemite/ton being able to float so ground attacks are ineffective), but I think adding more legendaries defeats the purpose. You could basically build a team of all legendaries now.

I already have my Diamond version and Pearl version reserved. I can't wait. I was a little let down with Ruby and Sapphire, both were great games, but when I finally collected ALL the Pokemon (including Jirachi and Deoyxs) I was dissapointed when I showed the Pokedex to Prof. Birch and he didn't say anything cool. They should have something really cool happen.

What luck, I was just coming in here to check if anyone had came across it yet. Goodies for me.

Muzza Jan 14, 2007 11:57 PM

Question: has this got translated track lists? Or is it one of the Japanese versions I've seen?

Sin Ansem Jan 15, 2007 01:05 AM

I believe they're translated.

Muzza Jan 15, 2007 04:32 AM

Well, then...thanks be to you and jeansama! (I've just got the music to Route 201 on my computer and let me just say it beats all the other games' first route music hands down - very short track though)

Sarmoti Jan 15, 2007 02:59 PM

Wow, track 115 is tight.

DarkDraco911 Mar 24, 2007 02:02 PM

I have Pokemon Diamond preordered. :D

I'm getting it April 22. :)

Freelance Mar 25, 2007 10:31 AM

I had no idea the game was coming out so soon. Only next month!

I was going to pre-order it today (doubt I'd find it on launch if I don't pre-order), but alas, I get off work at 7 and the malls close at 6 'cause it's Sunday. I got a free 1 hour off the phone coupon, which still doesn't do me any good. Booo...I'll go tomorrow then.

I'm gonna be picking up Diamond 'cause Scyther's exclusive in it. My little sister's getting Pearl. LeafGreen gets me Sandslash, and Sapphire gets me Seviper. I'm good to go :3

Oh, and apparently EB has a special stylus offer if you pre-order, but I don't think it applies to Canada. I'll have to check tomorrow.

What sucks is the inclusion of the time cycle again, though. Sure, it sounds like an awesome idea, but not when you're working! I'll have to get my sister to do stuff for me while I'm gone in the evening : /

P.S. Online trades and battles for the win.

Para Mar 26, 2007 10:01 AM

Ho hum... scyther is exclusive in diamond? =/ Im getting pearl because my friend is getting diamond.

Wow, good thing I read this. I was avoiding info to not be spoiled, but Scyther is my favorite Pokemon, so that seals the deal on Diamond for me.
