How much does the DGN retail for? I might be interested.

Taterdemalion Jun 15, 2006 05:49 PM

I believe it is $19.99. I too am interested, but I think I'll pick up Trauma Center for DS instead.

You mean MGS: Digital Graphic Novel?
It's only available in small quantities.

I checked EBgames / Gamestop's website and checked store availability to find my copy, but that's probably only available in the US (and maybe Canada).

You could probably order it from an online store (I think Konami sells their games directly from their own website, too) or have your local video game store special order it.

Yeah, that sounds right. Is there any firmware requirement?

JazzFlight Jun 16, 2006 12:51 AM

It needs 2.6.

Everything released in the past couple of months and onward has required 2.6.

Loco Roco needs 2.7

randomwab Jun 16, 2006 06:25 AM

I had my PSP upgraded to 2.6 by a friend in class who wanted to watch there newly bought Advent Children UMD, I didn't really mind though as I didn't use homebrew anymore anyways.

Any word of the Euro release of DGN? And LocoRoco is out next Friday, my PSP battery will die!

Pietak Jun 16, 2006 07:01 PM

Okay, here's for reference to those who may wish to play Acid 2 along with me.

<1> Buy the game,
<2> Download a "ripped" version off of bittorrent
<3> Use a combo of UMDEmulator and MPH GameLoader to boot up
<4> use the TobidAcid (solid eye)
<5> feel great that you bought the game and are supporting the PSP game industry, meanwhile playing NES mario games!

There you have it.

chato Jun 17, 2006 09:38 AM

Ok. I finally ordered Tales of Eternia and Kingdom of Paradise. Hopefully i can play those games when I get the chance. Y's is fun ^^;.. The game is lacking a little in the storyline department >.<, but it's still a great game with horrible loading times.

heh, its almost the 20th and Legend of Heroes 2 is coming out soon. I heard it was going gold.. O.o?? I guess the LoH games will make a better impact on the psp than it did in the past?

Celisasu Jun 21, 2006 02:50 AM

Picked up Field Commander and Gradius Collection today. No strong opinions on either yet as I haven't had a lot of time to play them yet. Gradius Collection does have some pretty cinemas though.

Sony Reckon they Will have 7000 PSOne Games on the Emulator for PSP by 2007

The latest issue of the UK PSP Magazine has several new details on what the near future holds for the PSP-PSOne emulation launch titles.

No release date was announced, but Sony did confirm that it plans to have up to 7,000 PSOne titles available via the service by the end of 2007. Several titles announced for launch were revealed, including Tomb Raider, Castlevania: SOTN, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, and Silent Hill. There will be other titles at launch as well but no other titles have been announced at this time.

The magazine also mentions that a new firmware update will be released for the PSP around the launch of the PS3.

Interesting...guess that will keep some fanboys happy regarding the PsOne emulator for the PSP that will be released at October.

How many PSX games are there...I am sure 7000 is a really high number for PSX games 0-0

randomwab Jun 28, 2006 12:58 PM

Shit me, on launch of the PSOne emu I can have 3 of the games I wanted most, SOTN, FFVII and Silent Hill! Awesome!

chato Jul 2, 2006 10:33 PM

Hey , Jazzflight. Did you have a problem with your Tales of Eternia copy ? I already went over some sites and it seems they had a problem with it too.

The game freezes when i defeated Volt. =/

Inhert Jul 2, 2006 11:14 PM

yep it's a pretty common bug, there's 2 miss tranlated name: the name of Celcius and efreet do not appear correctly in the menu and close to the end of the game there's 2 dialogue that don't play the good voice speech (ex: there's a conversation between all the craymel and instead of hearing them speak you hear Farah and Reid...)

and for that volt freeze, the only way to pass that freeze is to give your save files to someone that do not have this freeze there, and ask him to pass this scene and return a new save files after that...

Thanks for info. Does anyone wanna help me in that , please? I don't think gamefaqs have that save but i also dont want to use anyone's stats thats over 45 or something. Im at level 38 or 39 I think. (yeah..and with that level, i was able to beat Volt lol).

For anyone who is interested, the downgrader for 2.5/2.6 works, I just did it to mine. They said that if you had a factory 2.5 or 2.6, it wouldn't work, but I had a 2.5 and updated to 2.6 and downgraded to 1.5 and it worked perfectly. Check out fanjita's webpage for more details if you're interested.

Rock Jul 3, 2006 07:15 AM

The 2.5/2.6 downgrader is actually quite a breakthrough in the department of PSP homebrew (and UMD ISO loaders). I flashed my factory 2.01 PSP (updated to 2.6 later) back to 1.5 just fine with this. A friend of mine (who was on a factory 2.5) just reported success as well.

This thing is 100% reliable and stable, as long as you don't fuck up on your part.

I'm currently enjoying Loco Roco like I have never enjoyed a handheld game before.

Summonmaster Jul 3, 2006 09:47 AM

I do hope that they will continue to able to come out with downgraders like that for future releases. I would love to play the Valkyrie Profile port when it comes out, but I also want to keep my portable SNES rpgs handy. Although I guess figuring out another exploit in 2.7/2.8 would be just as good too.

Rock Jul 3, 2006 10:51 AM

There are ways to get almost all of the newer games (requiring firmware 2.6 and above) working on a 1.5 firmware PSP.

chato Jul 3, 2006 08:22 PM

I only hope that a new firmware version would fix a few bugs for some games =/. Games like.. Tales of Eternia -_-.

Inhert Jul 3, 2006 08:54 PM

I really don,t think the bug in tales of eternia are cause ebcause of firmware. I think this is just the people that worked on the port to the psp that made some mistake...

chato Jul 6, 2006 06:29 PM

You think its probably a disc defect? This one person at another forum is going to try it at 2.00 (he downgraded it). If that don't work, im sending it back >.>.

So did anyone buy their copy of LoH2?

SouthJag Jul 6, 2006 07:44 PM

No, because I got extremely bored with LoH1. Not that the games are bad but...get a move on. So, so slow with the story and everything in general. The sluggish pace of the first one ultimately made me look toward Kingdom of Paradise for relief, and much to my surprise I'm now on my 3rd playthrough of it.

not a disk defect, but I think it's more like a flaw within the game port . It's just a bug that occurs in almost copies of the game...(but the dialog error appear in ALL copy of the game, but the volt freeze seems pretty random...)
