And that it does. Awesome. XD

Cheezeman3000 Mar 6, 2008 05:04 PM

Oh my gosh those are frickin' hilarious. :) Great job Krel!

Super Smash Bros. is coming out on Sunday. It has 35 characters, over 300 songs and many boobs. <--- Quality substance.

FatsDomino Mar 6, 2008 05:13 PM

Just a note, guys, that while Head Crab Zombie Peach is freaking hilarious if you don't have something to add or respond to the thread beyond OH MAN THAT IS VERY FUNNY AND AWESOME then please do not make a post and instead prop the post.

If you don't heed my words then Skills and I will have a race to see who can close the thread until Sunday. Post with quality and substance like you should anywhere else on the forums. Thanks.

SuperSonic Mar 6, 2008 05:37 PM

C'mon Acer...I know the truth. You and Skills want to make a version 5, why lie?

I just thought about something concerning the Smash Bros. Dojo: are they going to be updating until the European release or will they most likely run out of things to update before then? Also, do you guys think the Dojo will be updating their site with the map of the day and such?

Speaking of map of the day, has Nintendo already started that with Japan or are they waiting for a date to begin that?

Not my work.

FatsDomino Mar 6, 2008 06:16 PM

Seriously, Krel. You could have added more to that post. I'm going to leave it as an example.

HOWEVER. THE NEXT POST THAT IS HAS NO SUBSTANCE AND DOESN'T ADD TO THE DISCUSSION WILL GET THIS THREAD CLOSED UNTIL SUNDAY.

WE WILL FOLLOW THROUGH ON OUR WORD. DO NOT TEST US ANYMORE.

And here's Chaotic with semi-important information:

I heard from one of my friend's who works at Gamestop that the tournament (if anyone should be participating here) will start at 10 pm, when the line is supposed to start forming. Through the two hours, the tournament will be held. Afterwards, they'll open up the store and start selling copies like mad cunts.

As far as I know, the tournament is actually supposed to be sooner. 10pm is more of the line-up starting for the sale of Brawl at Midnight. I'm just glad I'm not working on the sales floor for the Midnight sale, but I work on the day afterwards, handling people that are coming in to buy it that didn't stay for the Midnight Sale.

Though each place could have it differently. I just know that at my store, we're having the tournament sooner.

Animechanic Mar 6, 2008 10:10 PM

Well, I won't be there for the tourney. I work Saturday and I'm on 2nd shift, so I get off at 11:00 pm. Not that I really care, I just want my copy. Actually, I don't even know if my gamestop is doing a tourney, I didn't ask.

Guru Mar 6, 2008 10:11 PM

Ok, this is a question because I'm too lazy to go look it up or read through all 50+ pages of smash thread-age in order to find out.

Does this game have it's own friend codes or does it just run from the wii system friend codes?

AHAHAHAHAHAH, as if Nintendo fixed that issue. You're silly.

So yes, it does use its own friend code.

SuperSonic Mar 6, 2008 10:35 PM

Wait...I just realized something. You're in line for the purchase of the game but you're also in the tournament at 10pm, which oddly enough is the time I was told the tournament would begin but also at the front of the store is advertised as the time "The line starts here". How the hell is that going to work? Do you get out of line so you can participate and once you're done, you're kicked to the back of the line?

Also, did Gamestop say they were using different control types for each store? Like one store would use a Gamecube controller while another store uses the wiimote/nunchuck combo?

Chaotic Mar 6, 2008 11:14 PM

They're closing up the store. Only the tournament participants would be allowed in to the store. I suppose those who participated have first dibs on the game.

chato Mar 7, 2008 12:20 AM

Gamestop called me about a tourney and there not being a midnight pick up of the game. Bunch of fuckin queers since I know for sure that they already heave it. Pathetic really. However, I got a call from my friend at his job and picked up my copy there earlier. So far I unlocked a few characters. Kicks major ass. Now I need to get my ten bucks back and pre-order something else..

If anyone wants to go at it sometime tomorrow or the weekend, I'm around.. I hope.

The_Griffin Mar 7, 2008 12:28 AM

Lucky you. The Gamestop I reserved it at decided to be a bunch of douches and while they're holding a midnight launch, they're also staying open for all of a half-hour.

I work until 1:00 at best... meaning I'm going to be lucky to get the game Sunday. More likely I'll have to wait until Monday. Pisses me off so god damn much. :(

Chaotic Mar 7, 2008 12:52 AM

Damn you, chato. Damn you.

But what I don't get is why you would have the tournament but not the Midnight release. You're keeping the store open that long, you might as well do it.

chato Mar 7, 2008 01:06 AM

Agreed. Would save them alot trouble from getting a shitload of customers coming in on a sunday morning where all retail stores are the most busiest. I only wish I knew what the guy looked like cause he sure had a smart mouth when I asked him why wouldn't they release it on midnight. The best part of call was telling him that I got it already and that I'll pick up my cut the next day ;p.

That's gamestop for you. Any other good game for pre-order???

Chaotic Mar 7, 2008 01:11 AM

Okami?

But that's not coming out for another month. :(

That's not going to help at all. When people see midnight sales now, they're like "Pfft...I don't want to wait outside in the dark/cold. I'll pick it up the next day". Considering that it's a weekend as well, it'll be even more busy than before. What sucks is working during that time, and the company badgering the hell out of you to link this game with more pre-orders. Like people are going to pre-order another game when they're picking this one up.....doesn't make sense to me to be honest. ;_;

Also, you have to wonder how many are going to be going online right after the game comes out. Many will probably be focusing on unlocking all the characters at first. It'll probably be around Monday or Tuesday before the rush of people online starts, at most.

Chaotic Mar 7, 2008 03:59 AM

Today's update: Snapshot Galore

Just a bunch of pictures. Nothing special. Thanks a lot, Sakurai for making the last update before our Brawl release a crappy one.

Krelian Mar 7, 2008 04:42 AM

Sakurai is the king of trolls, honestly. Everything points to him dicking all over the tournament community.

"Real men use items", "UNTIL NOW", R.O.B., the list goes on.

Omnislash124 Mar 7, 2008 08:50 AM

So is there really supposed to be a shortage of this game? I didn't think it was possible, but the closer we get to release date, the more I regret not pre-ordering this game. I really didn't expect there to be a shortage of any type. They've had an entire month to roll out with more copies of this game, shouldn't there be a fair amount of copies. Especially with stores still offering pre-orders.

Monkey King Mar 7, 2008 11:13 AM

Is Gamestop offering midnight sales to pre-orders only, or could you concievably just wander in and pick up a copy? I might wander down to pick up a copy, even though I'm not much interested in the tournament. If not, I guess I could just hit Target around the crack of noon and see what's left.

Diversion Mar 7, 2008 11:17 AM

Depends on how much got shipped there:

Our store's shipment has an extra 40 pieces over the top of the pre-orders, but we're turning away all non-preorder customers. If people wanted to get it first, pre-ordering doesn't cost anything extra, and the midnight launch is being treated as an appreciation of sorts to customers who support our store.

There's still Walmart for others.
