It's unfortunate that some of the old downlaod links have dissipated. Expander's FTP seems to be down as well, so I'm checking out some of the more recent posts that are still active. I posted those Joy Electric albums, hope you enjoy them Enceph! I hope to post some more stuff in the future.

I'm gonna listen to Ikue Asazaki and Lights Out Asia's Garmonium for now. This thread-series is sweet, I hope to devote some more time to it.

Ikue Asazaki: Wow, nice voice. It's a little scratchy, I like it more or less. The piano themes are nice and gentle. I listened to of the beginning few tracks.

Light Out Asia: I'm enjoying this a bit more, simply becaue of its diversity and a beat compared to Ikue, understandably, the music's moods are for different purposes. I imagine listening to Akue, maybe, outside on a cd player, maybe stoned. Heh. (I don't smoke anymore.)

Also: I attest to the quality of Buck 65, and Viking Metal, and Opeth included.

You can always request some of the older stuff uploaded if you just PM the original poster. I guess it's probably a good idea add that little detail in the index... Although I guess I should probably update that index first. :tpg:

Notes about using rapidshare: they aren't even waiting a month after no download activity to delete your stuff now. They also aren't allowing any uploads, so it's probably a good idea to stop using them in general. (Iwata's stuff from a little over a week ago is already dead.)

I was surprised when stuff that I knew had been downloaded (and a few days before I checked, even) was suddenly deleted. Nowadays it seems they suck about as much as everyone has been claiming they have been.

Megaupload has started doing the same thing too, so I have officially stopped using them as well. I use Badongo now.

knkwzrd Oct 24, 2006 08:17 PM

I've changed to sendspace myself. I tried Badongo a while ago and instead of uploading it froze my browser. Maybe they've gotten better.

Wall Feces Oct 24, 2006 11:39 PM

I've added two new CDs in the past two days, The Dillinger Escape Plan - Miss Machine, and John Frusciante - Niandra LaDes and Usually Just a T-Shirt. Hope you guys enjoy them!

Can someone re-upload POE - Haunted?
I've been looking for that album ever since I read House of Leaves, but it's been deleted from that website. :(

wvlfpvp Oct 25, 2006 05:37 PM

Yeah, I'll get it uploaded first thing tomorrow morning. If you'd like, I can PM you the upload link.

Paco Oct 25, 2006 06:07 PM

So I barely got around to dowloading that Lights Out Asia album since Yama fixed that link and... WOW. That's easily one of the best ambient music albums I've ever heard Dead Can Dance and liked it, this is far above that. :D

I'm still with the idea that a big torrent every month or so would be good for archiving purposes, if we keep the folder intact the downloads some dudes could actually help the initial seeders.

Eskimo's Commercial album has some interesting ditties. It's very spooky though, maybe I'll use this CD to blast outside during Halloween. Would be fairly fitting, I think. The other Eskimo cd, with the long tracks, was a unique listening experience to say the least. The sounds of a girl panting and crying is pretty fearful.

J. Ralph's got some quality stuff! "One Million Miles Away" reminded me of some of Boards of Canada's new Campfire Headphase album. Diverse album, a good one for a little more easier listening than Eskimo ^_^.

Adaro is pretty out there. I need some more time to listen to it.

Posted Tarwater's Silur. A dark electronica experimental abstract cd of which I am very fond of (one of my favorites) Great night music!

I would be very grateful if some of the noise music that has been upped on here in the past could be re-upped? As I remember, there was something that was basically recordings of people having sex...I believe Schadenfreude put them on here, but he hasn't been around lately.

I'm doing my research paper on noise music, so it's kind of necessary.

I really hope everyone gives the Destroyer music a listen; I really, really enjoy his works and think more people need to be exposed to him. Even if it's just one album (even though all five are excellent).

I've noticed Megaupload doesn't delete a file until people stop using the link. I have a file that's worked for almost a month and a half, largely because it's linked to in my Facebook profile.

I believe that first Peter Gabriel record that Devo posted is actually self titled, not Melt.

Also, loving that hip-hop compilation you posted, Ence.

Isn't it awesome? That compilation is the reason I listen to a lot of the hip hop I listen to nowadays. That's how I was introduced to Jurassic 5 and Dilated Peoples and Styles of Beyond when I was still listening to nothing but rock and rap. My friend Marcus gave me a copy, but the original vinyl he has is signed by the whole Jurassic 5 crew, Evidence of Dilated Peoples, Ugly Duckling, Aceyalone and Ryu of Styles of Beyond.

I'll give that album you posted a listen once I find the time, but I'd like to add that my first introduction to Styles of Beyond was, of all places, the Soundtrack to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, which they contributed a song (maybe more, but I dunno), and so I searched out for more of their stuff. Jurrasic 5 on the other hand I was told about from a friend who was deep into the underground stuff. He was all Hardcore about it. I haven't seen said friend since we sorta lost eachother upon exit from high school, but it was still a nice experience in finding new music.

The other CD should be up sometime in the next day or two.

Dark Nation Nov 24, 2006 02:46 PM

The first Si*Sé CD is up.

So . . . anyone else think that, since we're nearing the end of the year, we might-could have folks who contribute upload a "best album of 2006" kinda thing? I already have mine in mind, and I've had it since February.

I tried to get something like that together once but nobody wanted to take the time to participate. It would be awesome if it could be pulled off on a 2nd attempt.

Admiral Amara Dec 4, 2006 11:02 PM

Effing right on, Mucknuggle! I've been wanting to listen to that album for a while. I heard some of "The Kidnapper Bell", and they had me at hello. I've got more Mono if you'd like to hear it, and I can upload it right away for you.

I think I'll also throw Portishead's self-titled album in here as well.

Paco Dec 5, 2006 01:13 AM

You know... I could have sworn I uploaded Portishead's self-titled joint before the crash and that's why I didn't do it already. Definitely a must have. :D
