The bumper wasn't really cut out in Melee. They just replaced it with something more annoying. It's that thing that spins around when you hit it and it has 2 red balls at each end.

An Animal Crossing stage has been posted. Looks pretty basic, but still neat, and day and night is determined by the Wii's internal clock. Also, if it is Saturday and 8 pm, K.K. Slider will show up and play some music. |
FUCK YES! This is exactly like one of the Animal Crossing stages that I imagined, but never thought that they would actually incorporate it into the game, time of day changing with the real time of day and all!
http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/stage..._070713c-l.jpg LOL. Is that Crazy Redd in the background? And I think I recognize Katt and of course the human the Animal Crossing player controls in the image Zakiller posted. :P Makes me wonder if the characters in the background will a mix of World Wild and the Gamecube Animal Crossing or just the Gamecube version's. http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/stage..._070713e-l.jpg Speaking of characters....K.K. Slider showing up at 8 P.M. on Saturday is friggin awesome! I wouldn't have even guessed that they would have thrown that in! But...I wonder how that's going to work during battle? It looks like Pikachu and Fox are looking at him instead of fighting. Mmmmm... I also wonder what music will play on this stage? When K.K. Slider shows up, I imagine that it will change, but when he's not there, I have no idea. Now, I haven't played World Wild on the DS, but the Gamecube version didn't have much when it came to music other than the hourly BGMs (which were far from being complex, but not exactly bad either) and the title screen. Ooohhh, I wonder if the music will be different for each hour of the day? 24 different tracks + K.K. Slider's songs would be sweet. |
Holy shit, this game just keeps finding more ways to redefine the meaning of the word "awesome".
|
I'm sure they just made it appear they're watching Mr. Slider and not fighting, but regardless, this game is really shaping up to be the bees' knees. I'm still quite shocked about Sim City.
|
The stage itself looks pretty basic as of now, with a pretty small main platform and not many other smaller ones. Regardless, the stage looks like it'll kick ass, what with the time of day changing and K.K. coming at on Saturday. That's really just a very clever and amazing level right there.

I be they'll be adding in balloons with presents that items will fall out of. It would be hilarious if they were Animal Crossing items aka a shovel, fishing rod, bug net, sling shot, shells, fossils, furniture, carpet, etc. That would be a riot. ='D
Oh and it would be good if you can see the citizens doing various things in the background and bugs flying about and fish swimming around. This stage sounds so awesome. I really hope they expand it and they best have Mr. Reseti. |

Oh that would be a hilarious item. Get your opponent stuck in a hole and then beat the hell out of them. ='D

I do too but it'll never happen.
|
Is it just me or does it look like the characters all watch K.K. play his song? They're just standing there staring at him and not smacking each other.
|
It's possible that they'll do that. However, they could have just positioned the characters to do so for the screenshot.
|
Is it just me or do all of the new stages look like they're... well... really simple in design? Like, they have the floor and then one or two platforms to stand on and that's it. It kinda worries me because one of the things I've really liked about smash bros. was the variety in every stage... and while these are definitely "varied," the fighting areas themselves look rather bland. Should this be something to worry about?

True... and, I do admit, I was one of those guys who really liked the huge Hyrule stage and the rotating Brinstar stage when most of my friends hated them. So... maybe I need to just accept simplicity ;).
|
I'm assuming this stage will also take into account the season. Hopefully.
Melee had 25 stages all together I think. If Brawl has more then I'm sure we'll see pelnt of platform variation, hopefully some diagonals. I miss the ones from Mario's level in the original SSB. |
How does it work online, since not everyone lives in the same time zone in each game?
*knocks on wood* |
Host's time zone, I'd imagine.
|
This Animal Crossing stage was slightly disappointing at first since it looks like it's just another platform stage. K.K.'s weekly concerts make it extremely awesome though. It would be nice if it was a daily thing rather than weekly, but it's cool to stay true to his Animal Crossing schedule.

This is an Unofficial rendering of Boxart, This is an Unofficial rendering of Boxart *Bing Bong* http://bp3.blogger.com/_LMK9y87UjG4/...brawl-orig.jpg However, I have found this at Blogspot. It is quite nicely done, but this is one of those things that it could actually be the cover art of the game. And if it is I'm surprised at that little blue speck that I see. |
Online play hasn't been officially confirmed, has it? I know they've mentioned (a while ago) that they wanted to put it in SSBB, but it wasn't mentioned at all at E3 or on on Smash Bros Dojo.
Of course, I may just be slow and stupid. :( |

It'll still sell millions even if it isn't online. But it would definitely kill the potential of the game. And considering all the other games that are online at the moment, it would be absolutely inexcusable if it wasn't online. And then even if it is online, hopefully they'll make divisions so the tourney fags won't ruin it.
