Just here to note that the new yotsubato chapter has been out in japan for awhile, and in my withdrawal period, (looking through every yotsuba related resource i know looking for translations) I found there is an early (but completed translation).

Its here
http://rapidshare.com/files/39922889...English_v1.zip

Its a really good chapter,
Spoiler:
with lots of yanda fight, wootah
that i think you'll all enjoy ^^.

Other notes that should be made is that Skaijo finished and put up Metal Gear Yotsuba which is definitely a visit (don't ask me why it wasn't already posted, but whatever... I'm looking at you Skaijo ;P).

Spoiler:
Jumbo seems to be able to palm yandas entire head, thats pretty impressive ;P.

For those of you who haven't seen, new Yotsubato (Chapter 47) has just been released at 4chan.biz.

Vemp Jul 2, 2007 12:15 PM

Sweet! Getting it right now.

THE POWER OF WATER Jul 2, 2007 12:49 PM

Yotsuba has the best facial expressions in the universe.

Kilroy Jul 9, 2007 08:52 AM

Could someone rapidshare the new chapter from 4chan.biz? For some obscure reason, I'm not allowed to download anything from that page._.

chato Jul 9, 2007 01:11 PM

Here you go, Killroy.

I found this place. It updates a tad slower then 4chan.biz... but it should provide downloads for those having trouble with 4chan.biz.

WHEN WILL THERE BE MORE

WAKAPPA

fireball87 Jul 22, 2007 05:23 PM

The people who host 4chan.biz (I think) put up an online gallery for reading. This will allow all those too lazy/busy/atwork to download a few chapters to enjoy.

Does anyone know if Yotsuba will become an anime like Azumanga? God I loved that series.

So charming.

Hantei Jul 31, 2007 03:09 AM

Anyone else see this!? There is no way I'm passing this up!

A friend of mine (who even out-otakus me) said that Azuma stated that he didn't want to turn Yotsubato! into an anime as that would destroy the innocence of the manga. I'm really hoping he's wrong.

Metal Gear Yotsuba was uploaded on Youtube without me even knowing. xD

Yeah, I've not seen that statement, may look into it if i ever have free time again. I would very much like a well done adaption of Yot, but if it doesn't happen it doesn't happen.

Yeah, MGY re-appears on the Yotsuba radar relatively often. (once or twice a month currently) It's pretty popular I'd say... hopefully winning a few metal-gear fans over to the yotsu-cause, which still feels fairly underrated round here.

As for the yotsu-doll, I normally avoid spending money on such things, but seeing as its been my avatar for quite some time everywhere, I may see it a worthwhile investment for my desk.

Skaijo Aug 8, 2007 11:56 AM

I'm actually glad that no one else heard him say that either. I'm really hoping to see an animated version sponsored by the original author in the future.

Well, just read ADV's volume 4 of the manga. Supposedly that in-joke concerning Koiwai's occupation comes back in the supermarket (remember in volume 1 they made Yotsuba tell Fuka that his job was a trainspotter?). Well, they totally ignored that and went with the original dialogue that meant he was mistaken to be a konyakuya. So, basically, they pretended the cock-up in volume 1 never happened, leaving readers who never read the scanslations to scratch their heads in confusion.

Man, why can't they take this shit seriously? They've still got grammatical errors and stuff as well....

:cussing:

fireball87 Aug 16, 2007 02:07 AM

Their ADV, its their job to screw around with my favorite manga. I kindof agree that they should've took the joke back to its original form... but they should've also admitted to their mistake instead of leaving it without a word.

--edit--
Just noticed the dayly calendar is on 4chan.biz, good source of small artworks, going to see if i can find a program that will automate the display.

Does anyone remember the official English dub of Azumanga Daioh?

Don't get me wrong, I still perfer scans and fansubs as an alternative. And I'm not immediately fond of putting an English/Americanized-oriented spin on things. Mostly, I just want read a manga or view and anime and understand what their saying. That said, I still like ADV's translation of Yotsuba. It's their first two volumes that introduced me and got me hooked on the series, to be honest. Some choices that they made I don't agree with--but if they left the original japanese jokes intact in without some sort of spin or thoughtful explanation (like the anime dub of Azu Daioh) I'd doubt I'd be as big a fan as I am now.

So yeah, I agree--they've made some unthoughtful changes. Maybe they simply thought that changing the joke would save them money and work rather than to index the manga and print additional pages of explanations of what specific terms and whatnot actually meant.

I hated that dub, the osaka southern voice pretty much made me want to shoot myself in the foot.

It's one of the worst dubs out there to my knowledge. Even Bobobo Bobobobo's dub beats it. But to be perfectly fair, no one can really hold a candle to the voice acting abilities of Yuki Matsuoka. >: 3

Bad news--I found the link my friend was talking about--and it was on Azuma's weblog. Last place I ever thought of looking:

http://azumakiyohiko.com/archives/c_15.php

So I went to wikipedia to see if anyone else saw it and the info has already been updated. It's nothing definite, but Azuma at this point doesn't want to have an animated version of Yotsuba.

Despite the success of Azumanga Daioh, no plans have yet been announced for an anime adaptation of Yotsuba&!. In an entry posted on his website on 2005-05-15, Azuma said he did not want to see the series animated.

Gah.

It's an old article and it's WAY back in his blog. Seeing as there's already action figure and music CD's now, I think or at least am hoping that he's more open to the idea now.

Dark Nation Aug 23, 2007 12:36 AM

Just read the last two chapters (48/49).

Pretty funny, especially Yotsuba's reactions.
Yanda is kind of an asshole though.

PsychoJosh Aug 23, 2007 11:51 AM

Yotsuba = enrapturement :)
