What kind of bonuses do I get from charging into attack? Can I charge *and* do an "At-Will" skill or is that considered two actions?

The unmovable stubborn Sep 11, 2009 11:16 AM

You can attack at the end of a charge, but it's just a basic attack; you can't combine a charge with a power.

And the bonus from a charge is only +1 to hit. :(

Pango, since I was slowed and not dazed, why did my move action not go through? I thought all slowed did was change speed to 2, and it didn't affect your action count?

The nature of play by post gaming is that waiting for everyone to agree on a plan means taking a week to explore every doorway.

Sure it means not everyone always gets their choice of which tunnel to walk down but it also leads to amusing situations where your wizard is going toe to toe with five sets of walking armour and all the tanks are taking a nap two rooms away.

For real, and I'm not saying you were taking extreme liberties or nothing. I enjoyed coming into work and seeing a wall of text that ended in my being way behind as the team faced down a giant baddie. Plus, half the time we were in non-combat I couldn't even come up with anything interesting to say or do. :(

Also, question re: saving throws.

Went through the handbook, couldn't find info on this specific case.

A single successful save saves against both poison and slow, you say (also weakened and acid).

In those grouping of conditions, there's one DOT, and one non-DOT.

As a warforged, I have a +2 racial bonus [Warforged Resilience] to saves versus DOTs. But not versus non-DOTs.

Therefore, do I need an 8 or higher to be rid of both, or do I need a 10 or higher, since that bonus is not applicable toward a compound condition? Or, if I roll an 8 or a 9, do I just lose the DOT and the other condition stays?

On account of I'm inattentive and sloppy.

Map fixed (might require a forced refresh)

I'm going to roll with this answer purely on a "I have no idea, but this is my arbitrary DM ruling" basis.

Sorry for the delay, fellas. I had to go out of town for the day, but I got dis.

Oh damn, son, I just noticed Healing Word is only a minor action.

FatsDomino Sep 16, 2009 02:07 PM

Damn it! Why do I keep doing this?

Anyway, thanks bunches, skills. That was actually what I was planning on doing but not quite in the wonderful description you gave. Propped, sir.

Aim your disses at this very post if you will, gentlemen. I deserve them. :(

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Sep 16, 2009 03:16 PM

Eh, it happens.

Don't let it happen near a cliff, though. >_>

Also gonna start colour coding my stuff from here on out so it's easier to read. White for regular text, green for actions taken, cyan for combat math, and yellow for 4th wall/OOC shit.

Sarag Sep 16, 2009 06:49 PM

Oh, Acer farted. I was wondering how a warforged could pull that off.

FatsDomino Sep 16, 2009 07:39 PM

I'm sure Skills could think up a way.

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Sep 18, 2009 02:56 PM

So much for setting up a defensive wall, LEHAH.

When you all die I'm just hauling ass out of there.

Misogynyst Gynecologist Sep 18, 2009 03:00 PM

This was something from my old Star Wars RPG days. My character use to have this powerful sniper rifle with a macrobinocular scope. The rules in the old WEG book were if you take one round to do nothing but "focus" (in this case, aim the sniper rifle at your target) you'd get a bonus die roll to add to the sniping skill total.

Is there something like that in this? I skimmed the rules and found nothing off hand.

The unmovable stubborn Sep 18, 2009 03:21 PM

Not really, although I'd be willing to toss a small bonus toward Readied Actions on the basis that, hey, the whole point is that you were ready to do (whatever).

Also, it might persuade people to actually use Readied Actions once in a blue moon

You know, I probably should have been more specific when I said "the room on the right," because I actually meant that little alcove to the north.

I mean, I'm assuming that's a door and not an impassable barrier, but... >_>

jesus I'm dying
and what is all this aura shit anyway

The unmovable stubborn Sep 18, 2009 10:01 PM

I don't know either! The Manual provides absolutely no explanation in flavor for why these things have a damaging aura! They just do! For no apparent reason!

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Sep 18, 2009 10:09 PM

I know, Skex, but I figured since everyone starting running all over everywhere that maybe center town USA right there would have made a fine substitute.

But I don't think anyone understands the concepts of defense so horray

Skexis Sep 20, 2009 03:50 PM

Pang, could I not get to R37? I was kinda hoping I could get Acer to flank that guy diagonally.

I guess it doesn't really matter as long as he can get to S35, but I'd rather not be right next to the acidy spit again ;_;

FatsDomino Sep 20, 2009 05:16 PM

I'm confused at how the order of things are being flung everywhere. It's LeHah's turn before mine yet I somehow get to go before him and move what he's trying to hit out of his reach. Pang's descriptions are amusing though.

Skexis Sep 20, 2009 05:18 PM

I think that's just Pang's flavor text to spruce up the rolls, but IANADM, so

The unmovable stubborn Sep 20, 2009 05:27 PM

Yeah, it's just fluff. I don't fiddle with anyone's turn order unless they Delay.

Fixed Gheth's placement, sorry

FatsDomino Sep 20, 2009 06:15 PM

Yeah, I just went back and looked at LeHah's turn and how he missed pretty badly. Good fluff.

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Sep 21, 2009 02:09 PM

That's not U31, pang. :mad::mad::mad:

The unmovable stubborn Sep 21, 2009 02:16 PM

yeah it is

I definitely didn't fuck up the map twice in a row

that would be really sad if I had actually done that

which I didn't

at all
