SKILLS, WHAT DOES "STAND BY" MEAN TO YOU

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Sep 10, 2009 03:41 AM

IT DIDN'T SAY THAT WHEN I STARTED :(

The unmovable stubborn Sep 10, 2009 03:44 AM

Well okay that's probably my fault but can you snip that post out and save it for later because violent doin's are about to transpire :(

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Sep 10, 2009 03:45 AM

Consider it done.

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Sep 10, 2009 04:06 AM

For what it's worth Skills, I propped that post using my miraculous mod powers of communing with dead posts. The good ones always seem to die so young. :(

The unmovable stubborn Sep 10, 2009 04:08 AM

I, too, will prop it, when its proper time arrives. Sorry it took so long to set up the fight.

LeHah, opening move's yours just in case you've been ignoring all the skill-monkey shit that's been going on.

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Sep 10, 2009 05:11 AM

Also I'm loving the irony that the party now has a really good use for a stick of never-ending chalk, now that they no longer have one.

Misogynyst Gynecologist Sep 10, 2009 11:11 AM

Actually, I just enjoy playing D&D for the writing aspect and the humor. A'fight'n ain't bad either, but to me its just about character.

I'd've posted more but we've had power problems in the area. They were resolved yesterday, so I'm still playing catch up in the D&D thread.

Well, I mean, I can only do so much random violence when I'm a servant of a good deity :(

I will make a conscious effort, though! Less skill checks per capita!

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Sep 10, 2009 04:01 PM

I agree with LeHah. It's about the funny, not about the bloody violence. I would have enjoyed puzzle solving and/or map making just as much. Doesn't matter to me either way!

knkwzrd Sep 10, 2009 05:01 PM

The secret is to be funny while doing stuff. Just sitting around in a cave doing chemistry projects for no apparent reason only holds interest for so long, regardless of how witty everybody is.

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Sep 10, 2009 05:33 PM

That's cool and all, knk. But there's not a lot you can do when half the group isn't posting and you don't want to make a bunch of decisions on their behalf there.

You don't need constant battles to have fun, is all I'm saying. But one could say that because of 4E's focus, it makes a lot more sense to have more of them, I guess.

FatsDomino Sep 10, 2009 05:36 PM

Well Delic went and we're just kind of waiting for Pang to rape us. Until then we can post about picking our butts clean for smooth penetration I guess.

The Horde has a long and storied tradition of making executive decisions when the rest of the team are asleep. You've noticed Shin posts the most AND is on GMT right? Just go for it.

I wasn't complaining by any means. It's just good practices to occasionally smack LeHah upside the head to make sure he's paying attention.

FatsDomino Sep 10, 2009 10:20 PM

Oh wow. That's some luck right there. Everybody rape the Kruthik Hive Lord. I mean holy shit. Wow. I didn't think that would work nearly that well.

Additional Spam:
Not to rain on your parade, Skex, but I'm gonna guess Garr did in most of the minions already. I could be wrong though.

Oh my you spent an action point on me, oh you~

I...

I think I not only wasted the breath, I might've just hit Garr with it.

I think you're forgetting the thief that touched a necklace and disappeared FOREVAH.

Skexis Sep 10, 2009 11:51 PM

Cursed by his own hubris.

It's okay. I'm sure you can edit it or pursuade Skills to delete the post to hide the incriminating rolls and Pang will not be any wiser!

I considered editing earlier, but you can't remove die rolls as far as I know, so I think we'll Garr will have to live with it.

Additional Spam:
I suppose if Pang is amenable to my getting a mulligan, then I'd re-do the turn, but I don't want special treatment either, so I can just eat the consequences if it doesn't bother anyone else.

The unmovable stubborn Sep 11, 2009 04:25 AM

As it happens, Garr was out of harm's way and you did get one kill. Things could have gone a lot worse if either of you actually knew the rules, of course. :333:

Yeah, I think we all realised after the first couple of non-fighty sections of the Dungeon of Doom that unless someone just goes ahead and does something, you end up spending a lot of time kicking your heels. The nature of play by post gaming is that waiting for everyone to agree on a plan means taking a week to explore every doorway.

Sure it means not everyone always gets their choice of which tunnel to walk down but it also leads to amusing situations where your wizard is going toe to toe with five sets of walking armour and all the tanks are taking a nap two rooms away.

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Sep 11, 2009 05:05 AM

Well, good. There's something I wanted to check out in town anyway.

On an unrelated note, whoever came up with the INSULT ATTACK at Wizards deserves a raise. I can already tell I'll never use any other attack again.
