Shimauu is certainly a cute addition. :3 She reminds me of an eyebrowless Fuuka. I'll certainly do some snooping in past chapters to find her.
It'd be nice to see more boys in the series. Azuma is seems to focus on gals more when dudes are way more dorky. Also, it very clever transition from Shimauu to Miss Stake. I wouldn't have thought of that and it fits nicely in my opinion. In fact, I think I'll keep that as her official nickname in my little world. |
I for one would love to "see behind the translation" so to speak and find out what exactly was Yotsuba's nickname for Torako to make the translater use "Tigey". Tora-bo maybe?

can someone explain to me how to d/l the chapters from 4chan.biz? everytime i try i automatically get sent to a 403 forbidden page...am i missing something? if i rightclick to save, i get a leech.html file...

Very strange... i've still had no problems with it.
I just verified its working in both Firefox and IE, so I'm kindof at a loss for what could be causing that. I'm going into withdrawal with no chapter this month... wah. |

Yotsubato vol. 4 is finally being released by ADV. In this month's Previews, and is scheduled for release in July or so.

After a 2 month hiatus, the time has finally come... new yotsubato at 4chan.biz
It felt a bit short (though it wasn't, a bit longer then normal, probably just a side effect of missing a month)... but it was pretty funny, ramen was involved, so thats always a plus. |

Is it just me or does the girl who gave Yotsuba the florescent tube look a lot like an older Osaka? She does have that blank look on her face on page 13.
Speaking of cameos, the girl from chapter 32 (Yotsuba and rain) on page 15 reacts to Yotsuba's cuteness a lot like Sakaki does. Am I going crazy? |
I kindof assume its more artistic style then a cameo. Theres been a few obvious reference, so i don't consider minor ones as much.
Three Examples I can think of. 1. Wallaby girl shows up in Azumanga 2. Books fall on yotsubato at high school. 3. Cat ("chiyo's father") can be seen on fukkas shirt (and a comment about fukkas taste is made). 4. Cat with Kitten is a prize at the carnival (with the fireworks). Thats all I can recall at the moment... a double check on wikipedia lists the same references and no more... but there probably are a few. |
Ahh, it would be great if it was a subtle cameo! But I agree that it's a stretch.
Another cameo thought... what about that policewoman? Tomo did wear that exact same outfit for the costume race. I'm told that I can't post images for comparison yet. That's too bad. I found a bunch that look really similar. |
Well the policewoman is wearing it for her work and it makes sense to use the same design, so I wouldn't count it as a cameo. If Azuma had made Azumanga after Yotsuba, perhaps.

I read this chapter last week and then consecutively for each day until now and it's still a riot. This is, in my book, the best chapter yet. Golden Week must have treated Azuma pretty well.
On a side note, I'm making another Yot flash. It's called Metal Gear Yotsuba. It's destined to be the best MGS/Yotsubato crossover tribute EVER. |
