I friended everyone on the first post of this thread. I'll be online at 5 pm EST to join the shenanigans. It will be my first time playing the Wii U online so we'll see how this goes.

So I logged in at around 5 and tried to join but ended up running a million errands. Was busier than I anticipated. Do I just click on the friends list profile and hit "join game" to get in on the sessions? I tried that out to no avail. Also, who typically hosts (does that matter?) First timer so still trying to get the hang of things.

Pick Online from Mario Kart's main menu, and after you choose friends it'll show a flag next to anyone who's hosting a room. It's usually Omagnus or sometimes Tails.

Damn, I would have gotten on. I had been led to believe it wasn't happening this weekend due to people being gone and Smash coming out. Speaking of which, is Smash a thing for you guys or what? I have a rental of it on the way because I had a free slot open at Gamefly and a window here with nothing else coming out, but Smash has never really been my thing. I loved the ridiculous story mode in Brawl (and it's exclusion in this one took the game completely off my radar), but I have played a total of about 8 hours across all Smash games in my life.

Smash is a thing, but we haven't done any set times for it. Same as with Theatrhythm it's just been something to follow up Karting.

I'll make a point of being around next week then, I'm all about getting some Theatrhythm in if nothing else. Just curious if Smash was catching on with you guys, seems like people mostly love it, but seeing hilariously inconsistent reports about the online being either awesome or total shit. I figure I'll just mess around with it for a day and send it back probably.

Note that my participation for the next few weeks may or may not happen. I'll be at home and have my Wii U with me this coming weekend and the 25th, but I might be busy with family/friends. The 18th for sure I won't be around, since Kart runs at the same time as the Miku concert.

Yeah I won't be around this coming Saturday as I've got family visiting. If there's a danger Tails might also not be around, anyone want to step up and offer to host so that someone is taking care of that?

I can't make this weekend, just found out I'm being dragged to a wedding in Richmond or somewhere around there. If anyone wants to play Theatrhythm during the week or whenever let me know in that thread though, if I'm not at work or asleep I'm generally down for it.

We can always do the "Yoshis on Yoshis taking on Yoshis on Yoshis" cup in a couple of weeks. I'm all for the mixing it up with random set ups. It's just a shame we have to back out to do it, though thankfully it's pretty quick and painless.

Does everyone have the gold kart unlocked? If so we could do a "Princess Bling" cup at some point.
