Boy o boy. Level Seven. So many feats.

So little money. And feat slots.

Encounter 7 Power: Spikes of the Manticore
Retraining: Unless we miraculously get tons of gold, I'm changing Shadow Wasp Strike into Disruptive Strike.

Zephyrin Jul 4, 2010 02:06 AM

Aw sheeeeet. Better wait till I'm sober to pick skillz.

Scent of a Grundle Jul 4, 2010 11:45 AM

I'll take Snap Shot. Attacking for a minor action is never a bad thing.

Zephyrin Jul 4, 2010 04:44 PM

I'll be training in Phalanx Assault (Martial HB) and retraining Surging Assault to Scent of Victory (Martial).

Also, if I use Surging Assault, then I retrain at lvl up, will that slot still be expended?

Also, Combat Leader class feature isn't on my list, not sure if you've been automatically applying it or not, or is it replaced by battlefront leader? Can't find the literature on it.

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Jul 5, 2010 01:07 PM

Six players, woohoo! You're almost up to full Fellowship strength now. You just need wvlf to play a grumpy dwarf and four people to join as non-combatant halflings.

Skexis Jul 5, 2010 01:48 PM

I'll take Bolts of Warding for my power, and I'm going to retrain my feat Weapon Focus (Spear) to Disciple of Divine Wrath.

The unmovable stubborn Jul 5, 2010 05:05 PM

Silverback's dead as of Puyet's turn. (We'll assume Garrmondo delayed). SOMEBODY KILL THAT APE

Zergrinch Jul 7, 2010 09:14 AM

The July Errata seems to have the following effects:

1. Gheth's Shield of Faith strengthened into a Minor (from a Standard)
2. Puyet's Lead the Attack nerfed
3. Monster damage hugely increased by 25-50%, and AC/Accuracy boosts :(

Scent of a Grundle Jul 7, 2010 10:29 AM

We already increased monster damage once, didn't we? Something about less health and bigger dice? Will both changes take effect, or just one?

Zephyrin Jul 7, 2010 01:38 PM

The nerf sword has struck me down. At least they added something to compensate.
I was considering retraining my dailies, but decided they were good enough to keep. Now I might change my mind and retrain them next lvl.

And on that note, waitin' on Pang Pang. Let's get this dungeon crawl rolling.

Well, since the apes were from MM3 they had the new damage boost pre-applied and I added my houserule boost on top of that. It seemed like a reasonable challenge for an encounter I literally threw together in 5 minutes to get Skex's attention.

You must remember that I am (honest!) trying to murder you, whereas the official rules only want to provide the illusion of murderousness. I wrote an ill-conceived analogy here about masseuses vs. prostitutes and then erased it!

I'll apply the level up changes once Garr responds with his choices.

Scent of a Grundle Jul 7, 2010 11:59 PM

I hope he retrains something so that he can use that armor properly, if possible *hint*. Glenn can't be elbowing Garrmondo in the ribs all the time - it's not easy to get him to feel anything through that stuff.

Zergrinch Jul 8, 2010 01:25 AM

Zeph, I'm wondering if you're willing to consider retraining "Brash Assault" to "Direct the Strike." Since we have two ranged strikers, it'd basically give you a ranged option. With monster damage boosted and likely to outperform our attack damage, do you really want to give your target a free attack against you - with combat advantage? :p

______

Garr can't take Plate training, unfortunately (need 15 constitution; he has 12). But there is something you can retrain: Weapon Focus (Heavy Blade) >> Weapon Proficiency (Bastard Sword) will increase all your attack rolls by 3, and reduce the static damage modifier by 1. +11 against AC isn't too horrible - it's about the old G-unit average (new guys will always have better gear, accuracy, and defense).

And of course if you ditch the plate, you join Glenn as the most accurate member of our current group.

Zephyrin Jul 8, 2010 05:01 AM

I don't see any such power, Zerg. You guys are obviously pulling shit from somewhere I am unfamiliar with.

Martial Power 2, Zeph. Page 83.

Edit: Um. I guess Pang didn't upload a copy. Let me see what I can do with 15kb/s.

Well, I'll try and get my hands on MP2 before next level and see what kinds of goodies there are.

The unmovable stubborn Jul 8, 2010 06:31 AM

MP2 and the two race books (dragonborn / tiefling) added to OP.

Skexis Jul 9, 2010 12:23 PM

Sorry for all the brevity lately, guys, I've just been really stressed at work, and trying to get my two weeks in so I can get ready for my new job.

Zephyrin Jul 9, 2010 01:33 PM

As stated in my journal, I'll be gone for three weeks, and I'm not sure about my internet situation. So just in case, somebody should cover my character in case I don't post by Sunday night.

wvlfpvp Jul 9, 2010 01:40 PM

It might be this weekend before I can get you my sheet.

Gotcha covered broseph, provided you aren't gettin written out. Gonna let Pang call that or not, it's not like you've been around long this go yet, so.

Zephyrin Jul 9, 2010 04:05 PM

Don't be trying to get me booted, yo. I'm not getting eliminated after just three rooms again.

The unmovable stubborn Jul 9, 2010 11:22 PM

Ehhhh, three weeks is a long time but you're covered and we're rotating someone in sans death anyways so don't sweat it.

Zephyrin Jul 11, 2010 12:52 AM

Guess what, I have internets.
