played another 4 hrs today and got over the intro ^_^
I'm playing at my own pace which is actually kinda slow since I like traveling but proud mode is starting to show its effects during the Land of Dragons.
And yeah the delivery is done much faster since it can be avergely done in 9 sec, so the poster one distracts it from it becuase it gives double the munny if you finish it around a minute.

Got a question... is this game really on 3 Gigabytes? Thats like only 1GB bigger than the first....

Yeh, the game is only about 3 GB, we're surprised as well when the import game out and there were rips of it...

then how come, i read in interviews that the disc was full.. thats why they couldnt really add anything, or do a final mix?

yeah I was wondering... it just doesn't make much sense... haha... Xenosaga Episode 2 was bigger than it in size but much shorter... 20 hours? blah

More like "we ran out of money". Besides, FMVs take up most of the disc space, so seeing how there's only a few in there, it isn't too strange that the game is 3 GB.

Now that I'm up to the beginning of Hollow Bastion, I have a few more impressions to add.

I honestly hope the last boss from Roxas' story is just a taste of the amazing battles I can look forward to down the road. It was brief but incredible. It also begs the question....



And to add to that...



I absolutely loved the cutscene that reintroduces Sora. The buildup was just great, like a reunion with an old friend. They've also done a great job establishing the relationship between him, Goofy and Donald. Sora now feels like a genuine part of the Disney universe, and not just a guest star.

The scene where Sora boards the train made me choke up a little.



Oh God, BEST PETE EVER. I'm utterly amazed how they nailed him down. His animation, the bouncing chinflesh, Jim Cummings rocking as always. Pete alone is a testament to the brilliant artists behind KH.

I doubt the Three Goodfairies are played by their original VA's, but if that isn't the case, the actressess responsible did a damn convincing job. Also,



I am deeply, deeply saddened that Uncle Scrooge lacks his awesome (and still quite alive) VA. Maybe there's a chance he'll say something later, but I won't give my hopes up. :(

About Yuffie's "new" VA, it's noticably not Christie Romano, but the VA still does a good job. She puts far more effort than Suvari. Regardless, she's a bit more cheerful and older sounding compared to Romano's Yuffie. I really hope this will be the only exception, especially considering Yuffie's role in DoC.

Love the remade Hollow Bastion theme.

Finally, is it me, or is Mickey saying "Pown" instead of "Town"? :/

I dunno about that chin flesh on pete. It seems to change between hard and soft all the time. Sometimes it flaps around like a double chin..all blubbery. But then othertimes it'll stay still like its part of his jaw. I think the animator's should have studied the character a bit more or something.

I think you're referring to the low-res models I mentioned before, the ones that don't use those lush facial expressions and rely solely on stiff mouth flaps. It'd be great if they simply didn't exist, but I'm very pleased that so far, the hi-res faces are used much more often than the low-res ones.

Too bad Yuffie's first appearance has her in low-res. Hope we get a hi-res cute Yuffie later. :(

Does anyone know who the uber boss is in this game? Sephiroth was god on Kingdom Hearts 1, I wonder who's it going to be this time around.

about the voice actor, it was a little odd to hear sora at first >.> I was like wtf they change the actor? but then I remember that the actor is now 18 years old >.> but then you can see that sora did grown up, I thought that it was strange that his short was so... short XD

for now the only voice actor that I really don't like, it's Aeris >.> she totally don't have it >.> not just because of the bad acting, but the voice doesn't fit with the character >.<

oh is it me or David Boreanaze doesn't do Leon anymore? I thought that his voice was a little different... too bad I really like him in this role >.>

I'm going to have to agree on this one... I was expecting so much more from Suvari... and if this is the effort that she put into this character for KH2, I shudder to think of how she was for FFVII:AC...

The other character I did not like the VA for so far... Cid. I heard him speak and I half-expected to see a jug of moonshine in the background or a Toby Keith song playing...

As for me, my first day having it, I've played about 12 hours. I just completed Agrabah.

I noticed a few changes in the POTC world.

It isn't. The new guy seems to do a better job though.

It wasn't so odd for me, since I've been hearing Osment in IGPX. Still, it adds a touch of realism to have his voice change like that when he grew. It's a much smoother transition then in Harry Potter (horrible voices in the 2nd movie).

I decided to give Proud Mode a try, skipping cutscenes in Roxas' story and fighting some of the battles. I went up to the fight with Setzer, and so far I haven't really noticed a difference aside from losing more HP with each hit. The enemies seem to use the same patterns as in Normal (though I did notice a couple of new attacks from Setzer, but maybe that was because I was prolonging the fight). If the only difference in Proud Mode is more HP loss, then I'll stick with Normal.

It could be just me, but I find the intro dreadfully BORING. When does the plot/game pick up? Give me generic answers as I don't want to be spoiled. Am I close or not even? KH was more faster-paced than this.

P.S. From what I've played so far, the voice acting is better than in KH. Two thumbs up.

Only difference in Proud mode is obviously taking more damage, and a more aggressive AI (well and the secret ending but that isn't really related to the gameplay itself).

Although in my opinion, and I guess it's from playing the hell out of the first game and learning how everything worked, Proud mode seems easier than Hard mode from the first game.

I guess it was probably due to not knowing how to do some essential survival moves back then, but now that they are second nature it's just a matter of reflexes.

I started playing today and finished the intro, or let's rather say, the tutorial after some good four hours, and yeah, it was pretty boring. But okay, tutorials are meant to be boring, right?

I chose beginner mode because even though I heard that it's almost impossible to die, I haven't played Kingdom Hearts 1, and I am planning to replay the game in normal or proud mode to unlock the bonus ending video anyway!

So far, -except for the tutorial- it's a really cool game :)
