Supposedly Sony showed a 60% done version of Killzone 2 at GDC, but with no press at thoes speeches, there's no footage. Hopefully with such a close target date, there'll be an appearance at E3 this year.

Inhert Apr 16, 2007 02:22 AM

MKII has been enhance for the HD but I,m not sure if it's 720p or full HD1080p...

yeah warhawk seem very good, but sadly I might get only only to spend all my time in those jets XD

Killzone 2 was not shown at GDC. They demoed the tool kit "Playstation Edge" that was labled as Killzone there. But there was no Killzone 2. That's for E3 ;)

new firmware update for both ps3 and psp ^^ the ps3 firmware update now give the possibility to play the downloaded psone game on the ps3. We still need to wait for the 26 april before the downloaded psone games become compatible, but after that it will even be possible to transfer save from the ps3 to psp.

The games from the psn store might offer other games than playstation games. I wonder which games will it be.

They announce too that there will be more updates and more often. they said like about 10 update per month for Japan.

it's not much but now if they can give us more psone games and more good psone games, I think I might buy one or too ^^

(oh and I just notice that now they show before the installation, what the update do like on the psp ^^)

Slayer X Apr 19, 2007 02:45 PM

The new PS3 update also enables dualshock controller use for PS2 and PS1 games via USB with NEW rumble support.

Inhert Apr 19, 2007 03:28 PM

oh yeah I forgot to mention that XD

I wonder if Sony will come with a new controller with vibration... that's why I'm waiting before buying a second controller...

Slayer X Apr 19, 2007 05:47 PM

Sony and Immersion are currently working on a controller that will have rumble for the PS3. As to design, price, or release date, nothing is known at the moment. With a recent interview with Hideo Kojima and GameTrailers, Kojima said that he would like to include rumble in MGS4 is the controller is out in time. And Cory Barlog said that GoW3 will have rumble support so I would say that there probably won't be a new rumble controller before mid '08. But that's just a guesstimate.

Clarify, please. I've not seen one on the market, but there is a device that lets you use a PS1/2 controller through a USB connection?

Additional Spam:
I was under the impression that the new force feedback update was for the wireless steering wheel and basically nothin' else.

Edit: Seems I was largely mistaken. A link in a GameSpot article pointed out numerous such devices I asked about earlier.

Slayer X Apr 19, 2007 10:54 PM

The steering wheel thing is for the new version of GT HD only.

The PS2 thing is if you have a PS1/2 -> USB asaptor and a PS1/2 controller and play a PS1/2 game on your PS3, there is now rumble support for the controller.

I believe it works for games that don't use SIXAXIS.

Slayer X Apr 20, 2007 09:06 AM

Yeah that's right. As long as you don't need the motion sensor it will work. However using a PS1/2 controller on a PS3 game does not add rumble if that's what you were hoping for.

it works for every game, but if the motion sensor is needed, it simply wont work... but the rest is fully working in every title

hikarub Apr 20, 2007 12:46 PM

Nuts, I was hoping the latest update would allow you to put up pics as a wallpaper like the PSP....

I guess I'm still gonna have to wait for that.....

:(

Slayer X Apr 20, 2007 02:35 PM

Same here, I don't know what their deal is or why the PS3 didn't have that ability to begin with.

The PSP didn't get wallpaper support until 2.0 so hopefully the PS3 will revieve custom wallpaper by that update or sooner because this current animation sucks. Especially since mine has stopped changing color over the day, it's just some pukey greenish pink clear thing, go away, go AWAY!!!

Double Post
My BlockBuster in town here just started stocking Blu-Ray movies for rent. I'm gonna rent every decent movie there to support this effort. Tonight is Crank.

Cool. I just got home and hadn't updated updated my PS3 in the longest time (it wasn't even at the 1.6 update). I think that one of the coolest features has to be the moving thumbnail icons you can make for videos. It just makes scrolling through the interface more...next-gen looking. I'm curious though, all of my video thumbnails run very smooth EXCEPT for the Lair trailer I downloaded. It runs very slow, with a very noticeable drop in frame rate. The video is fine - only the thumbnail is slow. Anybody else have this little problem?

EDIT:
I guess the Home trailer also seems a little slow, but its kind of hard to tell because there's not really much going on in that trailer. And wow I want that Ratchet & Clank game. I haven't even played any of the other ones yet.

A new message from Ferrox has recently appeared on PS3tribe forums suggesting that an ISO loader is finally ready for the PS3. The message states.

Quote:

"Ferrox v1.0 PS3 ISO Loader. We have decided testing is over with. There are some unfixable glitches in the loader but nothing we can do. Loader will be released May 11, 2007 at 12:00PM PST. That means u guys probably won't get it till the 12th. We will be releasing distribution rights to limited websites. Not that this is legal anyway and we can do that. But, We hope after so much hard work for you to benefit you will at least appreciate our software. Ferrox.

PLEASE DON'T BEG FOR A DOWNLOAD LINK!
YOU WON'T GET IT!
JUST RELAX AND WAIT A FEW MORE DAYS!"
What do you guys make of this? Is this for real?I hope so

Anyone here using the beta version of Home yet? Any thoughts on it so far?

Inhert May 8, 2007 11:47 AM

I didn't get in in the first wave. but I got an e-mail saying they will send more invite in the next few weeks. So I pray that I'll be one of them this week or next one XD

and I guess saying if you like it or not is ok, but Sony seem to really want to keep it secret. You have to agree to not talk about the game to anyone beside your parents and close friend >.>

but anyone I already saw some like footage so >.> if I'm pick this week I'll post my thoughts on it this weekend ^^

eprox1 May 8, 2007 10:12 PM

Just out of curiosity...when is Home scheduled to be released? I can't imagine it's too far off, especially with it in beta and everything...

Also, Warhawk is officially my most anticipated game of the year. I know this video is old, but I just saw it for the first time the other day on GameTrailers - The Multiplayer Experience.

I didn't even think that playing online with 4 players on a single console was even possible. This game is setting some serious standards for online gaming. Games like Resistance and Motorstorm (...or any game with an online experience, for that matter) would have easily been 10 times better if they had taken the time to implement this.

Inhert May 8, 2007 10:20 PM

home is schedule to be release in October. I heard that there will be an open beta in June though

Kairi Li May 8, 2007 11:40 PM

October? That's yet another reason for me to wait out on getting a PS3 then. Well that and waiting for some GAMES to play on it. When its Heavenly Sword gonna be released?

Inhert May 8, 2007 11:44 PM

I heard september for heavenly sword. Ps3 games are kind of dead this summer... nothing seem to come up till fall...

oh wait I forgot Lair in july XD

SouthJag May 9, 2007 12:01 AM

Since we're kinda on the topic of games, any word on White Knight Story? I haven't heard anything since it's initial reveal and that first trailer.

Inhert May 9, 2007 12:05 AM

I didn't heard anything on it since it's initial reveal :\ I think the us release might have delayed a little white knight story, since they added a new dungeon and all.

I think will have to wait the E3, maybe they'll show more of it.
