ECW was Grisham and Matt Stryker.

And Kanes more of a tweener...depends on the person. Personally, I like evil Kane more because its nice to see him beat the holy hell out of everyone and anything that moves.

Was just reading some things online

Spoiler:
Looks like Foley asked to be removed from Color Commentating which means either just this week so he can sell injuries, or we might see some sort of return for Foley...again...

and that means Tazz was moved to SD! for this week.

SimDaddyGT Aug 11, 2008 09:34 PM

Spoiler:
Wow.... WWE, you just keep making it worse and worse.

Why Mysterio's mask, of all things? I expected the chain, I expected Kane's mask, hell, I even expected Paul Bearer's urn (even after he ditched the Undertaker at SummerSlam 96, he kept the urn, no matter where he was, as far as I know), but not that. I was ready to see an explosion from Kane, the revival of an "ancient demon from within".

I give up, WWE. I tried to make a suggestion, and you spit it back in my face. All I have left to give a shit about until you rectify this mistake is to watch Dreamer beat the shit out of Colin tomorrow night and to see what stunt Edge pulls to get at Vickie Guerrero before the Undertaker's gong plays.

SuperSonic Aug 11, 2008 09:40 PM

Spoiler:
You've gotta hand it to the WWE though...Mysterio's mask wasn't expected at all. Possibly a bad move on their part, but hey...they threw another curveball at us.

mortis Aug 17, 2008 06:15 PM

Well, prediction time:

Cena-Batista: I hope WWE can really build up this feud all the way to wrestlemania. In truth, this SHOULD have been a mania match but they got scared and did it earlier. Given that Cena lost the tag titles and Batista was the one who originally won em for their team, Cena will get the duke here. Batista will even it up at the next PPV.

Now, I know WWE's long-term programming is well, non-existent (save for Taker-Edge), but I'd have Cena win here, Batista win at the next PPV with Batista turning heel. Batista challenges Punk for the title at No Mercy, in which Cena costs him the title. Cena/Batista go at it at Survivor Series which becomes a no-contest. Cena then challenges Orton for the title at the Dec PPV (Orton beats Punk at SS for the title) in which Batista costs him the title. Both men eliminate each other at the Royal Rumble. Both men are then restrainted until Mania and have their big blow-off.

Punk-JBL - How JBL ever got into the title contension when he has lost nearly every match save for that one out of like three against Cena is beyond me. I am hoping Punk retains because a JBL title reign works only once, and honestly, there are plenty of heels for Punk to defend against (Orton, Jericho, etc) compared to the um...err...how many faces on Raw?

Koji/Mickie Vs Beth/Santino - C'mon, you KNOW the WWE will have a title change with this type of match. My bet is Beth pinning Mickie, and then start some sort of weird feud with Santino because she'll feel SHE should be the IC champion.

Mark Henry Vs Matt Hardy - Henry retains. Oh, and GO Colin Delanley!

Undertaker Vs Edge - So the big blow off to their near year and a half feud. Good for both men. Edge looks great, and Undertaker's return is highly anticipated. Too bad Mic couldn't be apart of this match (he was suppose to be but Vince said to him 'things have changed'). Edge will go beserk, bringing his game to THE level that it should be at, but will ultimately go down to the Deadman. The Deadman will then go on to finally have that long-awaited match with Triple H....

Triple H Vs Khali - How did Khali get into the main event? I mean, Summerslam is THE secnod biggest PPV of the year and he, who has been nowhere near the title pictures gets the duke? Argh. At any rate, Trips is going to beat Khali, then go on to feud with either MVP, Jeff hardy, for perhaps Undertaker.

Jeff Hardy Vs MVP - A toss-up here. Most would immediately think Hardy,b ut the thing is, who WILL Triple H face next? Undertaker is my likely guess, but MVP is also a good option given they are going the 'younger blood' route. I'll pick Hardy on this one, but MVP for going onwards to the title picture after a great showing.

HBK's announcement - He's going to retire. He'll milk it for all it's worth. Jericho will come out and tearf him a new one. HBK will take it...but he'll be back.

Slash Aug 17, 2008 06:30 PM

Hey Mortis, sorry to break your heart but mr Delaney got released...along with Cherry (that was a surprise) Stevie Richards (now only 2 left, Super Crazy and Dreamer) and the Highlanders (not a surprise).

But the way I see it...

Cena vs Batista will end with Batista winning it because Cena will probably be going into movie hype mode soon.

JBL will lose because he tends to get stale on the mic.

Kofi/Mickie against Phoenix/Santino, see one of my previous posts with Beth winning and taking both titles.

Henry vs Hardy will end with Henry winning it, practically beating down Hardy then Jeff will make the save.

Edge Vs Taker, who...cares... This match will be either extremely well put together with Edge going insane during the entire match, expect concharitos and chokeslams galore. I'm also seeing Edge spearing taker into the cage to where it breaks, or edge spearing taker off the ring into the door then the two go to the top with a huge chokeslam to end it on top of the cage.

Trips against Khali Lawli, how did this happen?

Hardy beats MVP. This will possibly set up an ECW match of Henry and MVP against the Hardys, because lets face it, the Hardys put asses in the seats and money in the pockets of Vinnie Mac.

HBK, it'll be something with Jericho coming out and calling him a baby or something, setting up a SS match...hopefully something INVOLVING A LADDER AND A TITLE...like...THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

I mean the WWE could make it interesting by putting the IC championship on Cade and overpowering like...Phoenix to take it from her. HBK calls Jericho out at Survivor Series in a match and HBK basically punks Jericho out making Jericho irate where HBK says put the IC title on the line. Jericho does, making cade go WTF, in which he doesn't stand in his corner during the match but it'll be like a survive or retire kind of match with HBK losing.

mortis Aug 17, 2008 06:49 PM

Hahaha, I know Slash. I was saying that cuz the guy got punked as a face, punked as a heel, then got released.

I don't see HBK retiring. It just seems odd that the guy who retired Ric Flair is retired less than six months later. Just doesn't seem right...

Slash Aug 17, 2008 06:58 PM

Well, this would be HBK's second retirement and honestly, I feel as that the DX revival was his last hurrah and after that its just been hard for him. I mean with DX he was able to have fun, entertain the fans and everything without putting any real stress on his body. Hell, look at the Survivor series match from two years ago with HBK, HHH, The Hardys and CM Punk against Edge, Orton, Knox uhh...and a few other people. That match was just pure entertainment cause you knew who was going to win.

mortis Aug 17, 2008 08:07 PM

Well, for HBK, yeah, it has been hard. I really felt his title match with Cena was his last big attempt at the gold. Sure, he had his match with Orton, but we all knew Orton would win.

His feud with Kennedy was an obvious attempt at putting Kennedy on the map, but wasn't anything special. Flair-HBK was very well done. Batista-HBK was OK. It felt like they were wasting time until HBK-Jericho.

Honestly, the thing about HBK is he's still great on the mic, and still great in the ring. It's just that there isn't much that can be done if he isn't going to hold the title for a while. And if they are going with the young guys (man, now I am starting to feel old. I remember when HBK was 'young' compared to an 'old' Hulk Hogan), I think HBK won't have a chance of holding the title ever again. The only other option is for HBK to go heel and obviously that isn't going to happen either as HBK hates being a heel now.

Slash Aug 17, 2008 08:23 PM

SUMMERSLAM SPOILERS:

Wooo...sorta one for one, but I'm deeming myself on a one for one for being able to call the Hardys to beat Henry/Atlas

4 for 4 now with Batista, Punk and Trips winning. Granted 2 of em were total gimmies.

SuperSonic Aug 18, 2008 09:42 PM

Spoiler:
Definitely not a bad idea for a new main event, I guess they're trying to get some fresh ideas going...but you've pretty much got the same 4 guys who were going for the #1 contender's spot from a month ago.

Also, while Kane's new theme may be dark why would they change it? There was nothing wrong with his old one, in fact it was one that didn't change that much ever since he debuted. It's always been awesome.

dagget Aug 18, 2008 11:25 PM

Spoiler:
FRESH ideas? This is nothing more than a rehash of that Hardcore title match they'd used to have at PPVs and on TV. Not the 24/7 rule, but those 10 minute hardcore madness matches or whatever they used to call them. It's actually cheapening the meaning of the WCW title (which is probably the purpose it was done with that title and not the WWE one)

Slash Aug 21, 2008 11:45 PM

TNA is gaining my respect again.

Matt Morgan and Abyss in a tag team? SWEETTT...

And I guess Gail Kim will be back in the WWE.

Slash Aug 26, 2008 04:11 AM

Damn...looks like Cenas out with an Injury so his replacement...

for the Championship Scramble is...:

REY MYSTERIO!!!!

So this could bring Mysterio with the title since Kane and Batista will have a feud and JBL and CM Punk will have one too. It'll probably be Mysterio pinning Batista since they have a friends but its still competition thing going on between them

SimDaddyGT Aug 26, 2008 07:49 AM

Spoiler:
Nah, I don't see Mysterio pinning Batista. He'll have his hands full with Kane trying to "revive" his spirit. Basically, Kane and Mysterio will take each other out of the title run in this match.

Honestly, for the result, I can predict one of two things:

CM Punk retaining (something I wouldn't mind seeing)

JBL sneaks a final pin on Punk (retribution) with 4 seconds left on the clock.

Slash Aug 26, 2008 01:00 PM

Spoiler:
I don't see JBL winning any more titles though, I honestly think he came back to help the younger guys because he has that whole fox news thing that keeps him busy.

Plus you gotta remember that WWE is fucking up and appealing to kids and all the kids love Mysterio. But if Punk retains that'll be good because he's been holding the ball pretty good with the strong push that he's getting.

Also, I know a lot of us didn't like Cena's CHARACTER, but I guess hes going in for surgery on his neck. Lets hope its nothing super serious.

SuperSonic Aug 26, 2008 08:23 PM

When he isn't in the title run, I can tolerate Cena. I remember when he brought out JBL's limo and did some work on it with Cryme Time...that was hilarious.

I hope it's nothing serious for him either, best of luck. He and Orton just keep getting injured, although Orton reinjured himself whereas Cena injured something different this time.

Slash Aug 26, 2008 08:59 PM

There have been rumors that it might be a neck fusion thing so he could be out till next year, but I'm sure, because hes a huge WWE power player, he will still be on TV doing segments/backstage stuff.

And Yeah, it sucks what happened to Orton with the whole almost being ran off the road thing.

I don't keep up with Smackdown, but I think it was mentioned a lot here that Matt Hardy did something similar to keep his feud with MVP going.

Usually it only happens to the people who have real star power.

I think what you might be thinking about Sonic is the whole "odd couple tag champ thing with MVP and Matt when they did that whole basketball football thing.

I remember Kennedy came out a few times to keep the heat on him. Of course, with Cena you know that even if he goes away for a few months then comes back the crowd will go wild.

I think it'll be good for Cena to take some time off though, maybe they can revamp his character a bit.

And how about Carlitos lil bro on Raw? Pretty awesome. Guess Carlito requested a bit of time off since his dad is retiring over in uhh...wherever lol.

Slash Aug 31, 2008 02:47 AM

This has nothing to do with programming or anything...

But today, the great Killer Kowalski has passed away.

RIP Kowalski...you've trained many a great wrestlers!

SuperSonic Aug 31, 2008 11:38 AM

RIP Kowalski. At least he lived to the age of 81...pretty good for a wrestler.

mortis Sep 1, 2008 09:28 PM

RIP Kowaski.

And ouch, HBK is injured again. Torn biceps or something and he may be out long-term.

HBK is starting to take more and more time off. Understandably so but yeah, he was out since Julyish, and may not even makei t back for this one match. And Cena is out too. So much for any top faces. Just WHO is left save for Punk and I-am-going-to-turn-heel-if-Cena-doesn't-on-his-return Batista?

dagget Sep 1, 2008 10:12 PM

It kind of sucks because Jericho doesn't want the feud to end. Personally I don't either, since this is the best feud they've had written in a long time. They don't build this shit up like that anymore and it makes me sad. If more rivalaries got this much build up, it would get tremendously better.

Well shit...and I was hoping HBK would get his revenge at Unforgiven. That might also explain why he hasn't been winning at these recent PPV's.

Spoiler:
Randy Orton making an appearance at his hometown and dissing every champion on Raw in the process. Honestly, I was glad to see the man back. Once he comes back from his injury, I'm betting he'll get the title back.

Slash Sep 1, 2008 11:30 PM

Spoiler:
I agree Sonic. Honestly, I like Orton more than CM Punk. Seeing Punk with the title was cool and all but its now getting a bit stale...granted I'm a bit bias because I like Orton a hell of a lot more.

I was also reading smackdown spoilers and theres a part where taker tells Vickie shes going to see her husband in hell" And I was like..wow...WWE has sunk to another low...until I remembered that she is "married" to Edge. And I have to say, I like psychopathic Edge a lot more than uhh..whatever the hell he's been doing
