oh well great then ^^ can't wait to try those demo, warhawk especial oh and lair too, and VF5 (I'm still not sure if I want it or not)

March 23rd? What exactly is going to revolutionize the console on the 23rd? Is it a release date?
Yes..dammit! :D European release! Touched the Ps3 for the first time today....why is it that we always are left behind :P Anyway, GDC blew us away, especially Home. Can say that is almost blew Xlive away! |
Seriously this new Home feature is looking good. I hope they had to come out with it sooner. I like how they say you can share music from your ps3 in your home or room w/e it's called with other people.
|
I talked to a customer at my store about it, and he seemed really psyched. He was really impressed with the new features, and when I told him about Little Big Planet he looked very intrigued and wanted very much to watch the trailer. This is definitely a big plateau for Sony, and if it's successful, could spell a big win in the online community and gameplay market.

MORE SONY BULLSH-
Oh wait. Wait, Home and LBP are actually really super cool. Is it possible? Did Sony actually... innovate? Home and LBP is genius stuff. PS3 is finally showing us something genuinely special and impressive. I'm really starting to see a need to have a PS3 now (or at least when Home and LBP are out). Both projects look AMAZING, like even just graphically. I could spend countless hours with a few good friends on LBP being all "Hey, let's try this user's level" and just tearing through content cooperatively. And Home just looks phenomenally deep. Trophies are infinitely more interesting to me than plain old achievements on a list. I especially love the idea Phil dropped of having a TV screen in your trophy room playing like your best lap in a racing game. I can imagine having a bunch of videos of speed runs I've done in different games. Both of these projects give me goosebumps and solidify me buying a PS3 this fall. |

Well at E3 you're going to see a LOT of games being demoed for the first time, and a lot of games that have already been demoed being playable at the show. Games like Killzone, LAIR, MGS4, DMC4 should all be there as playable. Games like FFXIII and I'm not sure what all else should have extended trailers. Then finally you're probably going to see a lot of games coming out of the closet for the first time of course too.

http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...te/warbomb.gif http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...danmanover.gif That's about right Slayer, but keep in mind, the show's been downscaled considerably from past affairs. I'm expecting a much smaller show with announcements becoming rather frequent 2 weeks before to 2 weeks after instead of being concentrated within that one week. Oops, forgot to mention it but it seems like there might be a public beta for Warhawk. To leave on a good note, here's a entertaining video of Warhawk's MP. Some notables:
Man, seeing this in action gets my mind wondering about Ace Combat online. |
Man, with this intense gameplay and what not clans are going to eat Warhawk right up man. Which is awesome because I'm part of one, BOO-YA!!!
|
I just saw the press video of Little Big Planet and I'm impressed. I'm not a fan of those party type of games where you and others play but this one looks different, it looks like a fun game.

Well, enough with the barely-english gibberish, the new PSM has a long ass interview on Ninja Gaiden: Sigma. It's the featured cover as well, but let's get down to the info revealed (Source):

Wow. After watching those multiplayer videos of Warhawk, I have entirely changed my opinion of the game. This game has changed. A lot. The ground stuff looks way more intense than it did before, and just straight up fun. Warhawks zooming right above engaged in crazy dogfights while dropping mines on the ground troops below. I freaking want it.
Also - Warhawk for retail on Blu-Ray, not the PSN Store. Don't know how I feel about that really...I guess it dosen't matter to me. Sounds like it might just have a higher price tag now :/. Would it sell better in retail stores or online, I wonder? |
Arguably, having a game in a retail store is better. In Warhawk's case, if it were online only, then only the people who go online with their console would show any real interest in it. People buying the game would be even lower than that.
However, if it's in a retail store, it would get far more exposure (especially to those sad, backwater people who do not have internet or don't care to use it) and possibly convince some gamers to finally make that online leap. Of course, a free online service with play included would certainly help to sweeten the deal. Speaking of which, has it been confirmed whether or not Warhawk will be free to play? |
If you have to buy the game via retail, then yes it will be free to play online. It's not an MMORPG that requires constant updates and maintnence.
|
Good news! The whole paying to download full version games thing scares me, I need a box to hold and love. Don't drag me into the future, I don't want to go. ;__;

Don't know how pratical it is, but we might as well put our computing power to use while we wait for KILLZONE 2 to come out and use all the PS3's power on it's own.
Article: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6167492...ewstop;title;2 In short with the PS3 frimware update 1.6 due out at the end of march, amongst other upgrades, the system will have a new feature called folding@HOME. Basically what this is is takes a semi-old idea of networking idle PCs over the net and use them to help process information for a specific cause simply because no single supercomputer can do the entire process on it's own. While this may not be as big as PS HOME or LBP, pardon the cliche but, "It's one small step for gaming, but one giant leap for the common good". At least if Sony dies now, they won't be going to hell anytime soon. TAKE THAT BILL GATES!!!!! Hell's got your usual suite all ready for your descent, Mwahahahahaha... |
For those folks waiting for a PS3 Ace Combat, it looks like you'll also be able to get on the Xbox 360. That's if it's multi-platform and not 360 exclusive which seems to be the case. Hopefully we get an announcement and screens so enough.

Beautiful Katamari. Awesome. How'd you miss that, Metal Sphere?

I'm assuming exclusivity for both at the moment, but I wouldn't be surprised if the announcement means it's multiplatform (same goes for BK). Umm, looking at the dates for each game: Whoa. This fall is going to be a ball for anyone who's purchased a next gen console. |
I can't comment on the Ace Combat but I can say with some confidence that you will see Katamari on the PS3 also, simply because Sony owns 49% of Namco so... common. No I can't say that 100% for sure, but yeah.
Secondly without an official announcement of these games existance I highly dought that any of that information is even reliable, if not just total speculation in itself. However, you know that they didn't pull the games out of thin air and despite conflict of details, it's for certain that these games must be on their ways for debut and soon. |
From Gamespot:

Now I'm honestly believing that either one or both between MGS4 or FF XIII has a chance of becoming multi platform a rumor which I was previously so haste to brush aside. |
Where's the source for that quote?

You're thinking Cellius, that cell-centric company Namco and Sony paired up for. Sony owns 49% of that, not of Namco Bandai. NB owns the other 51% of Cellius though. We haven't heard shit from them yet, but then again they've only been around for just under 2 months. Namco Bandai itself is a publically traded company, with Bandai having officially purchased Namco in September of 2005, which I'm sure you recall. Even though they operate pretty autonomously for the most part, Bandai still owns Namco. While Sony may have some stake in the company, it would be nothing near 49%. Quote:
