Oh cool, I assumed that as a staff is two handed you'd need both hands for spells. A staff is two handed right?

Just an attack roll with the proficiency bonus removed and the damage roll cut in half.

A staff is a two-handed weapon, but as an implement it only requires you hang on to the damn thing.

The unmovable stubborn May 31, 2009 06:40 PM

LeHah if you have the free time to start yet another retarded 360 vs PC platform squabble you have the free time to take your turn.

Misogynyst Gynecologist May 31, 2009 06:50 PM

I dont know what happened? I checked User CP all weekend and it never said anything got posted...?

The unmovable stubborn May 31, 2009 06:55 PM

Alright whichever one of you on staff put LeHah into some surreal user category where nothing works right please put him back

I have enough problems

or, wait, do thread subscriptions not work in the Basement? I think I read something to that effect somewhere, something to do with Werewolf

Animechanic May 31, 2009 07:59 PM

Thread subscriptions have been working fine for me. It's how I follow the adventure threads since no autosubscription from posting.

Yeah. I've also never had a problem with following Werewolf when I've done my whole "POSTING TO SUBSCRIBE" post at the start of a game.

You know Garr, technically Bob can shoot straight past you with no negative effects. We call standing in the elf's line of fire "Operation human shield" and it's entirely to be encouraged.

Pang, what's Bob's maximum range with his longbow? Has he actually got a hope of hitting someone sixty foot above him and a good twenty feet distant?

Because I'm fucked if I'm climbing a rope to get to the wizard, I'll help Soggy shoot the cannons at the pirate ship once we run out of easy targets on our boat if the rest of you want to climb up and chop up the wizard. I promise to catch any good loot she drops though!

knkwzrd Jun 2, 2009 01:46 PM

I'll climb up the goddam pole as soon as LeHah stops imagining the boat is a jungle gym and gets these puffy shirts off my back.

A longbow's effective range is about 40 squares at maximum so really the main thing stopping you from hitting anyone with it is that Bob is kind of crap at the whole "using weapons" business.

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Jun 3, 2009 03:54 AM

How are the pirate's ropes attached to the ship? I mean, do we need to actually cut them or can we just unhook them, if for example our characters were a bit light in the bladed weapons department? Or alternatively, would a decent Fireblast spell burn through them?

I'm not sure if anyone else can reach the rope at the front of the ship in time but Bob can Expeditious Retreat 14 squares which will get him within spell range of the rope. Given his inability to hit human sized targets, I'm not too confident he can shoot through ropes from range. Actually, saying that, although he can only do basic attacks, he's not a bad shot per se. What's kind of AC would you attribute to a rope if one was to try to cut it with an arrow Pang? Bob might be up for some Robin Hood shit for a change.

The unmovable stubborn Jun 3, 2009 11:40 PM

They're attached via grappling hooks, as I believe I mentioned. Besides cutting them one could ostensibly make a strength check to pull the hook out or, yeah, burn the rope. The ropes are... let's see, tiny, immobile object... with a clear line of sight, AC/Reflex 10.

Also, I'm just going to go ahead and wait for your turn before I update since Lehah's inadvertently made the timeline a bit wobbly anyway

Misogynyst Gynecologist Jun 4, 2009 12:52 AM

As in my acts have made the timeline wobbly or I posted/rolled before it was my turn?

Skexis Jun 4, 2009 12:55 AM

SNAKEHAH, YOU'VE CREATED A TIME PARADOX

The unmovable stubborn Jun 4, 2009 02:12 PM

If you sprint, you move at your speed +2, so you could go 7 squares.

sooo does anyone want to be Guest DM for a week?

No?

Okay :(

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Jun 5, 2009 06:17 AM

This fight's not going to last much longer at this rate and I'm sure none of us would begrudge you a week off for GFF NE Playing-video-games-somewhere-other-than-your-parent's-house week.

The unmovable stubborn Jun 5, 2009 03:16 PM

Ahahah, by no means was I volunteering to continue during the meet, I was just half-hoping someone else would pick up the slack so I didn't have to perform CPR on the game when I come back.

Sarag Jun 5, 2009 08:52 PM

i'd do it if I knew D&D. But I don't. :(

wvlfpvp Jun 5, 2009 10:55 PM

I'd do it, but I don't know rules, so I'd just do stupid stuff like create an annoying Jar Jar Binks character and scare away the PCs. Also, my prose is nowhere near as entertaining as Pang's. Too many adjectives.

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Jun 16, 2009 04:46 AM

Pang, are there any rules in place for targetting specific parts of someone's body with an arrow, so as to make them fall off a mast for example?

Also, I applaud LeHah's continued attempts at rope swinging and other nonsense like that, given he's probably the only party member with a lower acrobatics skill than Bob.

Scent of a Grundle Jun 16, 2009 10:48 AM

I could attempt to DM up until the end of June (i'm not sure when the meet is, haven't been keeping up with it). Unfortunately I don't have any physical materials so I've only got what Pang gives me.

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Jun 16, 2009 10:54 AM

Pang's back now Hawkeye!
